Phoenix: An updated Thread.

Some of you may have missed the thread started by our cherished friend, Phoenix, informing Gransnetters of her illness and the reason for her recent absence from GN. It has been suggested that a new thread is started, directing her friends to the original thread, where she let us know of her terminal diagnosis.

Sadly, Phoenix is no longer able to read your messages or PMs, but has said how she, her family and close friends have found comfort in the love and support, you have shown her.

This thread will try and keep you all updated, with news provided by a Gransnetter, who is in daily in contact with the family.

A heartbreaking time for us all.

I've just been reading some of the wonderful tributes to Phoenix. It's so nice that she can be remembered by everyone, I do hate it when people just disappear and I'm never sure if they've given up, changed name or worse. Perhaps we should all have a GN next of kin!

I'm giving a small donation to the Big C which is our local cancer charity.

I have a house full of family this week so have only been reading occasionally. Everyone is out doing their own thing today so I have had time to read and to listen to the bbc sounds programme. And now I am in bits!
So sad to lose a brave, thoughtful and funny member of the forums.
Thank you MD, Maw and others for all the updates and links.
Condolences to Phoenix’s family and friends.

This may resonate with all of us - bereaved , estranged or just missing someone flowers
“I thought of you with love today
But that is nothing new
I thought about you yesterday and days before that too
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name
All I have are memories and your picture in a frame
Your memory is my keepsake with which I’ll never part
God has you in His keeping
I have you in my heart.” flowers

Shocked and deeply saddened to read this yesterday.

My heartfelt condolences to Pheonix' family and friends. As someone said further up thread. Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory, Pheonix.

Details of Phoenix’s funeral.
If anybody wishes to make a donation in her memory, Cats Protection League or Cancer charities - Macmillan or Marie Curie.

I will try to find out the name of the undertakers if you want to send it c/o or alternatively straight to the charity.
If you want to mention her name along with the donation, it is Rachel Hudson

Just a quick add on, Mr P has expressed a preference for Marie Curie as they were the “angels”, who came out to night -sit those last nights
