I've sent OS maps and last time a ready planted outside planter to sit by the new front door.
The planter was raved about because they said it immediately made them feel "settled".

That is such a brilliant idea!

Aepgirl, I was planning to add the odd liquid refreshment too!

I’d go with the ready meals. Either bought or homemade, ready to shove in the oven or microwave, or out of the freezer.

I often take such meals to a dd when I know things are particularly busy or fraught.

Biscuiteers.com have a lovely New Home section, the biscuits are amazing and come in a lovely tin. They also have an option to add wine/champagne and will deliver straight to the recipient with a gift message.

Who said cleaning products are ‘fun’?

You can get an ordinance survey map tailored to the new home - their house in the middle. This makes a unique and very special gift! You can also choose which image will be on the front - in the past I've found a photo of the new house and used that, but you could use a photo of the family, or whatever you want. You can even choose the title of the map and there are options for scale. If feeling rich you can get it framed! but there are others for under £20.

A selection of M and S ready meals to save cooking for a couple of days , or a home made selection if you are a nice cook

I think a hamper with some nice edible treats that don't need a lot of cooking because it's hard work moving in.

Any clever ideas for fun present/s for a new home owner? So far I have the thought of a hamper with cleaning products.
