I could hear her saying "What the bleedin' 'ell, you bugger!" as she tried to get it off her.
There is a recess, and the web was woven completely across it, at head level.

MissAdventure we had one of those stretched right across our kitchen door recently - fortunately for me OH went out before me and spotted it before walking into it ? The brown ones seem to surround the house at this time of year.

I must remember tomorrow to check before I go out the door, because I think old bobbly is respinning as we speak.
Hopefully my neighbour will forget and break up the web again though.

I have never seen so many garden spiders, attached webs from my washing line to the fence so when I’m going out in the garden I have an old mop that I hold up in front of me as I walk along. If I see any on the actual washing line I will take a peg and gently remove them and put them on the fence that so many this year ?????

There was a spider in my kitchen sink today.
I'm getting really twitchy as my flat is not very well maintained and has pipes and gaps.
I keep reading about super sized, big hairy spiders being in abundance.
It's only a matter of time...

I have a horror of gaps, I can’t buy anything unless is right on the floor, or far enough off the floor for me to see everything under it.

You'd hate my flat.
The council barely do any maintenance, and there are pipes, gaps, and holes everywhere on the outside of the building.
I try and fill them in as best I can inside, but it's an ongoing battle to keep creepy crawlies out.
I have a really strong insecticide I spray into any inaccessible gaps, but have found it results in things galloping out!

I had a spider nightmare last night. I’m not sure exactly what was going on but I woke myself and Dh up by screaming in my sleep! ?

I keep constantly kicking my slippers off my feet, convinced there is a spider in there!

Work is worse for me, open plan office space, but always a mess, with lots of stuff everywhere, big warehouse with really high ceilings, old plumbing, and lots of small rooms, all full.
I make my husband check out the toilets every morning before I can go to the loo.

I think we all need therapy!
The thought of all those beasties hiding amongst all the clutter and pipes makes me feel a bit nauseous, genuinely.

The thought of any kind of aversion therapy terrifies me.

I'm another whose absolutely terrified of them. Have just bought one of those spider catchers with the plastic bristles on the end that are meant to close around. Have had 1 before and know all the drawbacks but the other suction gadget doesn't seem to work well either.
Had to ask my DH to throw plastic spider that came with it in the bin. Can't touch tomato tops either! I just KNOW I'm going to come across a monster 1 soon. ?

I read a lot about those plastic tubes, but even supposing they worked, you don’t have it with you all the time do you? By the time you’ve raced off to get it, the?could be ANYWHERE!!!

I have 2 electric bats. (Not the living kind!)
One by the sofa, and one in the hall.
Woe betide anyone who nicks the batteries out of them!

But MissAdventure, you have to get so close, literally an arms length away.

An arm and a bats length.
That's a few feet, I think, and I'm a great shot with it, so I know there will be no shillyshallying around.

I'm really not.
I often feel faint after dealing with a spider. My eyes swim for a bit and I have to sit down.
I am trying to take on slightly larger ones, bit by bit.

I used to hit them with a shoe, but the electric bat thing is much easier to deal with them.It’s silly when you think of the size of them and the size of us, but there you are.?

Will have to have a look at these bat's. But not sure they'd be good for me if you need to get too close. My hoover attachment pipe is OK but I've had to put the whole hoover outside to wait for DH to empty. I literally tremble - - I didn't think I was 'normal' until I read the posts here.?

I had a BIG spindly one under my kitchen work surface today.
I couldn't get the bat in the right position, and he has gone behind the radiator.
