Good morning from Shropshire.Heavy rain at the moment which is a shame as our town has a balloon festival this weekend.

We cleaned the house yesterday after we got back from dropping the children off so we have nothing to do today but relax.

Happy birthday Oopsadaisy.Hope you have a good day????

Hope everyone with outings have a good time and sending good wishes to all who are unwell or worried about loved ones??

Happy birthday Oopsadaisy?

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. I hope the rain holds off.
I volunteer for the local air ambulance charity one day a week in the local shop. This weekend there is a food festival in our local park which is more or less next door to our house. This event is supporting the air ambulance and so I am on the rota to man the gate for 4 hours later. I think I'd better take a raincoat just in case.

Happy birthday Oopsadaisy and enjoy your trip Mick. Sending love to all x

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is grey and cloudy.

A visit to pick up some contact lenses this morning and probably coffee somewhere.

This evening the Yacht club that DH belongs to is having a BBQ so we will go along for a couple of hours.

Enjoy your day out Mick.

Have the best Saturday you can xxx

Good morning all from a dreich grey day in Glasgow. Rather suits my mood of late actually.

I have become a grumpy old bat I’m afraid. I have no idea why except I do realise I am not the same person I was pre covid.
I no longer have any interest in going out and everything just seems like such an effort. I know I have become quite forgetful but I didn’t realise to what extent until, last night, DD1 mentioned. GD1 will be getting her vaccine soon. I said I was glad she will soon be 16, DD1 realised I was serious and reminded me GD had her 16th birthday 2 weeks ago! It’s still worrying me this morning I had forgotten something so important.

I received the same message as your DD baubles and I am using up my wool stash to knit some hats for the Mat. Unit where DD2 was born.

Hope everyone has a pleasant day, especially those of you with whatever worries you are having to cope with.

GrannySomerset Sat 21-Aug-21 08:44:06

A blank day ahead with picking some of the rampant runner beans the only thing planned. Hope all the planned outings and outdoor events can go ahead, though our part of the world is very grey and damp, and the forecast is not promising.

The news is so awful that I think I shall ration myself to one bulletin a day for the present unless and until there is some useful contribution that ordinary people can make.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Jaxjacky Sat 21-Aug-21 08:53:50

Good morning from a wet S Hants. I shall be brief as latter posts yesterday wished for brevity.
Happy Birthday Oops ??
Enjoy your trip Mick
My friend in hospital has/had sepsis caused by gallstone blocking pancreas, she’ll be in a while.
I had txt to get flu jab.
Not much planned today. Have a pleasant day all.

Stilllearning Sat 21-Aug-21 08:56:00

Morning from Pitlochry, home later today after an enjoyable break with old friends. Lots of walking (and talking) as the weather, while not wonderful, stayed dry.

Enjoy your outing Mick and happy birthday Oopsadaisy

Sorry you are worried Kalu, for what it’s worth, I am fairly sure that feeling down/depressed does affect your memory and that’s most probably what’s wrong.

Best get ready for breakfast, I’ve just noticed the time!

Wishing everyone a good day ??

Good morning Mick and all from a damp Lancashire coast.
My DS is coming over today so I have pulled a spag bog from the freezer and the gardener is working his wonders on my jungle.
Terrible night, my right arm (no lymph nodes) killing me and couldn’t get comfortable. Might have a catch up nap.
Lovely day yesterday having coffee with art group friends then a little shopping. Apart from the arm, my back gives in after walking round. If it’s not one, it’s the other…
I’m feeding next door’s cats while they are away. I have to make sure ‘my’ cat (really theirs) doesn’t eat the timid cat’s food.
Enjoy your London trip Mick, I envy you and many Happy Returns of the Day Oopsadaisy.

Morning from a rainy Scottish Borders. Looks like it might clear. Going out for drive somewhere. Have been plagued by insect bites so going to seek advice in Boots. Have all the windows open all day so maybe pesky things get in that way. Plus Ddog taken in long grass by DH. Any advice gratefully accepted. Have a good a day as possible.x

Good morning from a dull and drizzly Black Country,

Had a pleasant afternoon/evening at DD's for DGD's 13th Birthday. Lovely BBQ and company of family and friends.

Just booked a few days away in caravan from tomorrow! Weather looks ok for next few days.

Happy Birthday Oopsadaisy have a lovely day.

Wishing you all a good weekend.

Good morning all from a dreary SW Herts. Dare we hope for some sun next week? Happy Birthday Oops, such a shame you will be on your own, but I am sure we are all with you in spirit, save us some cake! ????
Ash so glad to hear you are feeling better, good luck with the show tonight. GM that is better news that your son is home.

Nothing planned for today, unless I get round to putting in the bulbs I bought last week. Have a relaxing day everyone and enjoy the shows if you are going.

Kalu Sat 21-Aug-21 09:11:53

Thank you stilllearning. That’s a thought.
I am overdue a bloods and meds. check up but getting through to our surgery now is nigh on impossible!

Good morning, Mick and all from Carlisle. I woke up to serious rain which seems to have just stopped and it is brightening up a little. Hopefully that's it. It still is unlikely to be a gardening day though, I've woken with a headache and a painful kidney so a day of gentle indulgence maybe? I'm a puritan though and like to achieve something useful in the day, but not housework, not at the weekend when I'm retired now.
I hope the rain has held off for your trip, Mick. Indeed, I hope it holds off for everyone's activities and that you all have the best possible day.

Grammaretto Sat 21-Aug-21 09:21:34

Good morning from the Scottish Borders where, as Dogsmakemesmile says, it is raining.
I have a slight headache hangover. My "girls" came round to share my birthday wine with me and they brought more!

Happy birthday Oopsa. A year older and wiser.

Hope you have a great day out in London Mick. I've not been for years. My SiL never has. He's a country lad with no desire to go to a city.
I am glad to hear your DS is home grandMattie and hope everyone has a worry free day.

Greyduster Sat 21-Aug-21 09:35:20

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a soggy, and set to get soggier, South Yorkshire. Enjoy your day in London, Mick. We both slept in this morning, unusually. DD and her menfolk are in Salisbury this weekend and they went to the cathedral yesterday. GS did not consider this to be a fun day out, but was completely bowled over by it and sent me 117 photos during the day! Today they are going to Stonehenge - I hope they have umbrellas! Us? We are going to buy a new mat for inside the from door. Exciting stuff. We will call in on my niece on the way home.
Happy Birthday Oppsadaisy - have a lovely day.???
To all, have a good day.

Kalu Sat 21-Aug-21 09:40:50

Happy Birthday Oopsadaisy and many happy returns. ??

Grandmadinosaur Sat 21-Aug-21 09:46:05

Good morning. It’s quite humid but had drizzle overnight. Hope the forecast for horrendous rain isn’t too unkind as ds and family are having a bbq this afternoon. It’s a very late housewarming postponed from all the lockdowns. I’m making coleslaw and pasta salad to take along. Also hoping for a quick coffee somewhere nice this morning and then home as DH has to be back to watch football his team are playing at lunchtime.
I’ll catch up with the posts later so wishing everyone a good day. ? for anyone needing them.

MawBe Sat 21-Aug-21 09:48:06

Good morning from grey N Bucks - and I believe the weather is set to go downhill.
Happy birthday *Oopsadaisy - sorry it won’t be the family gathering you might have hoped for but you can make up for that later. Main thing is that everybody is restored to health.
Waiting for a Waitrose delivery - usually they are early but today- probably because I forewent my Saturday lie-in to be up and ready by 9 - no sign of them . Time to enjoy a coffee and the Saturday paper then.
Wishing you all a pleasant day and weekend!

Nannagarra Sat 21-Aug-21 09:58:23

Good morning from very wet Sefton.
Pic is of 18,000 peace doves in just one section of Liverpool Cathedral where we also looked at the stonemasons’ tools GMdino - I’m in awe of their skill. Later we visited Lady Lever Gallery and concluded we’d had a brilliant day out.
We’re seeing all of the family at lunchtime. Enjoy your day everyone.

Nannytopsy Sat 21-Aug-21 10:26:59

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Suffolk is grey and we are due some rain this afternoon, so we meant to be out in the garden early to cut the grass and tidy up. That didn’t work - still in bed with coffee! It was well after 9 before the granddog asked to go out. DS and family are off to Snowdonia camping today and once today is over they look like having a good week. They have had some very wet holidays up there!
Lots of beans and tomatoes to pick and the onions need to be tied into strings for storage. I suppose I should get moving …
I keep wondering about our everyday china Kitty - all new would be nice.
Happy Birthday Oops.
I hope the trip goes well Mick.
Hope the day is kind to everyone.

Happy Birthday oopsadaisy have a lovely day! ???

Blossoming Sat 21-Aug-21 10:30:41

Good morning everyone from Lancashire, where it is raining heavily. No real plans for today other than housework. Best wishes to all who read this thread, may today go as well as expected.

Georgesgran Sat 21-Aug-21 10:38:18

Good morning from a grey, wet Durham - forecast is the same for tomorrow. Both DDs and DGSs coming later to see my SinL - I predict a riot!
Feeling much better, but I’ll still be pleased to see her on her way back to Cheshire tomorrow. Absolutely ‘nowt’ planned for later.
