Poor women. It looks like another relationship has gone terribly wrong.
I’ve always liked her and really hope she finds happiness one day.

On a wider note, ( & my sister is one ) why do some women think any man is better than no man?
I’m not suggesting KP thinks that, but plenty of women put up with such awful men, sometimes for their entire lives.

tickingbird Thu 26-Aug-21 10:30:23

I know that Fanny but to describe her as a best selling author is a bit much. I have nothing against the woman but I find it irksome that she’s constantly put forward as some marvellous mother when I don’t believe she is. I think she’s very clever and media savvy but I find it hard to believe people don’t see through it.

I won’t say anymore on the subject now smile

Galaxy Thu 26-Aug-21 10:33:41

I dont necessarily think she's a good mother but then I dont think I am a good mother sometimes. However I think the children should be the priority and if there was domestic violence social care need to be involved as they would be in any other case. I think she is very damaged and of course that can impact on parenting.

JaneJudge Thu 26-Aug-21 10:38:18

Harvey is an adult so social care would be involved anyway. From what I have seen of him, he has some capacity to make his own decisions too and that includes whether he lives in his own home across the road from his Mum, taking a taxi to college, choosing which college he goes to.

FannyCornforth Thu 26-Aug-21 10:44:15

Oh, I agree tickingbird and Galaxy.

I’m not at all convinced that much of what she does is in the children’s best interests (an understatement). Although her relationship with Harvey seems astonishingly in its depth of love.

I’ve not actually commented on her maternal skills up until now, as I’m not really qualified too; I’m more interested in her being, well, interesting smile

FannyCornforth Thu 26-Aug-21 10:44:31

To, not too

Galaxy Thu 26-Aug-21 10:44:45

Yes but it would probably need to be a seperate referral by the police for the younger children I think. If the alleged assailant is no longer in the house it may be resolved but I do think those children deserve the same referral system as anyone else. I am not commenting either way on her parenting just the system that needs to be in place with regard to alleged domestic violence.
Obviously we dont know what happened so it is all speculation.

JaneJudge Thu 26-Aug-21 11:03:59

Yes sorry, I've got the wrong end of the stick. I think I am irritated that people talk as if Harvey has no control over his choices, not terribly on Gransnet to be fair, but his Mum comes in for a lot of judgement regarding her choices for Harvey without people on the internet acknowledging he is allowed to make his own decisions and that will be supported by professionals involved in his care and education. People forget people with learning disabilities are human beings.

Domestic violence is taken very seriously nowadays thank goodness. I suppose it will help that the two other Fathers are already involved in the children's care.

She is now back working and he is walking the family dog.
No charges to be brought.
I don’t think she needs advice from anyone, she would certainly ignore it.

Galaxy Thu 26-Aug-21 11:37:42

Yes I agree completely Jane. I avoid if possible commenting on Harvey although I probably have been known to comment on his father sad

Aveline Thu 26-Aug-21 12:09:56

And she's got herself in the public eye again so she'll be happy. Miaouw!

Ali08 Fri 27-Aug-21 08:23:46

I believe KP is as good a mother as any of us here!
No better, probably no worse...except that I feel sorry for 'Princess' (why they don't use her other name, Tiaami, is beyond me, but it would be preferable) as KP treats her like a mini-me. Thank god her dad has a big hand in his children's lives!!!
I think she doesn't so much have body dysmorphia as she's terrified of getting older!!
Unfortunately, all the surgery and skin treatments are really aging her. I personally think she looks terrible. The tan makes her look like she's rolled in something nasty for a start!!
The surgeons she goes to have told her she can't have any more full face lifts as there's just not enough facial skin left to stretch - so she went for one!!!
Her bust has been ridiculously huge, for attention!
She's bankrupt, lost her house 'Mucky Mansion', a friend bought it and rented it out to her but I think I heard she's bought it again? How? She's in so much debt, how can she afford it?
She goes abroad for surgery because it's cheaper there, including airfare and hotels, than it is with reputable surgeons over here!!
At least this current fiancé has sense and backed out of some surgery SHE had wanted HIM to have!!!
He's a nobody, was he a plumber or something when they met? He idolised her when he was a teenager, had her posters in his bedroom. Now he's bought her a £50,000 engagement ring - I bet she paid for most of that!!
I think she needs to take a few steps back and take a look at her life. At herself!
She used to be such a beauty.
Then she just HAD so much money she began destroying herself!!!
Oh, don't forget the animals - local breeders refuse to let her have anymore pets from them because they're not safe around her!!!

Lillie Fri 27-Aug-21 09:36:47

because she is in the public eye i think it is maybe reasonable to list katies failings
but why would anyone refer to her partner as a 'nobody'
it makes him sound unimportant and that you dosapprove
as a plumber i would say he is very much a 'somebody'

Blossoming Fri 27-Aug-21 13:09:31

tickingbird I am not naive. It is Waterstones that describe her as a best selling author.

tickingbird Fri 27-Aug-21 13:38:57

Blossoming - they would! It’s their business. KP has never written a book in her life.

Blossoming Fri 27-Aug-21 13:46:12

tickingbird. I see. As you obviously know her personally I will bow to your superior knowledge and leave this discussion to the experts since my input is worthless.

BlueBelle Fri 27-Aug-21 14:54:26

Ali08 but isn’t it this present partner who s just beat her up ?

BlueBelle Fri 27-Aug-21 14:55:48

Blossoming I don’t think she writes her books she uses ghost writers I think that’s a well known fact

FannyCornforth Fri 27-Aug-21 15:15:32

FannyCornforth

tickingbird Price was always upfront that she had a ghost writer. It wasn’t a secret to her readers, so they weren’t the naive ones.
Rebecca Farnworth wrote all of her books, up until her sad death in 2014

I think that Blossoming knows that she has a ghost writer

Amberone Fri 27-Aug-21 16:05:39

Now he's bought her a £50,000 engagement ring - I bet she paid for most of that!!

According to Katie Price and Carl Woods he has more money than her now and paid for her engagement ring himself. He was accused on Instagram (I think) of chasing her money and they both pointed out that he's perfectly capable of earning his own money. From what I've read so far (and I've lost what little interest I had so won't be reading any more) he seems like a very grounded, sensible, perfectly nice young man.

BlueBelle Fri 27-Aug-21 16:49:12

But according to the write ups they were watching TV at his house when she was attacked by a 32 year old man , he Carl woods is 32 and was at that address! are you still thinking he’s a ‘grounded sensible nice young man’ or do you think he watched as another 32 year old man broke into their house and beat her up amberone ?

Amberone Fri 27-Aug-21 17:19:59

Bluebelle What I read was that she had been attacked at the house of a friend - to be honest I found it very difficult to work out who the friend was, but the boyfriend appeared to be out and about when police said they were releasing the man they had charged. I only read any of it because of things written on this thread so it's always possible I have got it wrong and missed something. Whoever attacked her apparently stole her engagement ring. Would the boyfriend do that? Wanted his money back ?? All sounds very bizarre.

Amberone Fri 27-Aug-21 17:48:47

Well Bluebelle I went back for another read and I'm a bit confused to say the least. Another report says that she was attacked at her home, but the one I read says

Katie was taken to hospital following the alleged assault at a home in Essex where she was staying while her home is reportedly being renovated.

But one of the charges is for 'coercive control' so it sounds very domestic, it's true. Maybe the friend's home was the home of Carl Woods.

If it turns out if was him, when someone is named, I'm happy to take back what I said - there's no excuse for that behaviour whoever it happens to, man or woman.

BlueBelle Fri 27-Aug-21 17:59:16

She was as far as I have read staying at Carl woods house which they are doing up together ready for after their marriage amber, after the attack she fled to Harvey’s house
(I thought he was in residential so no idea what that means) ; but the man arrested was 32 the same age as Carl Woods and he was not seen until a picture appeared out alone with his dog after ‘the 32 year old’ was released
She is said to be devastated
If it was just a friend or even a stranger attacked her wouldn’t Carl woods have been speaking up for her and defending her !!

I ve no idea either but it all seems to fit in with a domestic situation and there seem a lot of ‘ coincidences’
Who knows !!!

Amberone Fri 27-Aug-21 18:15:51

After just a few hours reading I feel like I'm being sucked into a Katie Price morass Bluebelle.

Her ex Alex Reid used to go to my gym (hope I'm not outing myself here ? ). I once cracked a joke about something to him while getting a coffee and got a grumpy look in response. When he left I asked one of the boys doing the coffee who the grump was and they told me 'That's Alex Reid. He's a cage fighter. He's going out with Katie Price' and I said 'Maybe the cage fighting has destroyed his brain'. It was all a bit of a joke.

Looking back now I think maybe the grumpy look was meant to say 'Don't chat me up, you old bat, you don't stand a chance' ? ? ?

BlueBelle Fri 27-Aug-21 18:43:34

???he was a ‘rummen’ as they say round here
Well that’s your claim to fame anyway
