Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey cloud but dry here in brackley at the moment.
Today, will see my usual bus trip out to Bicester this morning but later on , will have a coffee, with a snack and then do a shop before returning home to watch the Vuelta unfold in Spain .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all it’s grey and overcast here in the south east big maybe the sun will emerge later in the day. Sending a hug to those who are sad and hope that they can ignore any unkindness they feel has come their way.

Good Morning from another overcast day in Cambs.,

Safe journey for Ashcombe, best wishes to you & your DH.

Happy Birthday to Beechnut.

I'm another confused about the recent upset,
I'm so sorry that more than two of the most popular posters, on my two favourite threads have been upset to the point of leaving GN.
I hope they all know that they would be welcome to return as soon as they feel able.

I was away from last Thursday, until late Monday, & when I posted on Tuesdays GM thread, things felt "different".
I have had a couple of PMs, but remain none the wiser.

I send my warm wishes to you. flowers

Good morning Mick and all from a now cloudy Lancashire coast.
Today is the 21st anniversary of my mother’s death, so thoughts of her, although of course we remember our loved ones all the time, we don’t need dates for that.
After a burst of energy, singing at a local folk club, gadding about etc, I’m mooching about rather purposelessly. Now I have the time after being widowed, it can be hard to motivate myself and my living in a dream rears its head. BUT a duet to prepare with a fellow singer, drawing and painting await.
The phrase “finding oneself” springs to mind. Now that I have all the time in the world to find myself, I’m not keen on everything I’ve found!?
Marydoll I would try not to take things to heart so much. Virtual friends are just that. Enjoy the thread for what it is and take a more light hearted approach. Your family and friends in the flesh are what really matter.
Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning from a cloudy SW Herts, we have DGD and DGS staying over, DGD still with abdominal pain after the hospital pushed her out without finding a cause. It has been five days now. DD doesn't seem over worried, but if she were my daughter instead of my granddaughter I wouldn't let it go on this long. Difficult, isn't it!

Safe trip Ash, look forward to details of the reunion. Happy birthday Beechnut. I don't understand the undercurrents, so will pass those by. Seems a shame, poor Mick.

Good morning from an overcast West Kent, off to the hairdressers for the first time in four months.
I have been reading this thread for ages and it was because I thought what a friendly lot you were that I posted first time day before yesterday. So sorry for anyone who is feeling upset, still a very difficult time for some.

TopsyIrene06 Thu 26-Aug-21 09:52:07

Marydoll. What on earth has been going on. I am so sorry and will miss your kind thoughts, words and humour. It just won't be the same.

Auntieflo Thu 26-Aug-21 09:57:23

Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
I am another who is so sorry that Marydoll feels that she has to leave because of unpleasantness.
What are we coming to that someone can be upset by an anonymous poster?

Another dullish day here, and not only weather-wise. DH has to have a blood test later on, and I expect we shall be shopping at some time today.

Birthday wishes to anyone with one today and best wishes for anyone with any worries.
Have a good day one and all.

Marydoll Thu 26-Aug-21 09:58:44

I have asked HQ to remove my post.

I am neither oversensitive, nor overwrought over a poster's death, as I have been informed.

My last word on the matter.

Thank for the PMs.x

As a long time reader of this thread, I have not been aware of a change in style on the thread recently. There certainly doesn’t seem to have been any out front rudeness, as there sometimes is on other threads. I guess we are all different in how we perceive situations and how much we have invested in the forum. Compared to other forums I am on, it’s really quite tame!

FannyCornforth Thu 26-Aug-21 10:09:45

Mary thanks ♥️

Marydoll I have had pm from someone who never posts on any thread. It upset me but I got over it eventually. I like others will miss your posts and will be sorry about that XX

NanKate Thu 26-Aug-21 10:39:10

Dear Mary this thread and others will be a lesser place without you. Your novellas were the highlight of my morning.

I don’t know what to say to persuade you to change your mind other than COME BACK PLEASE.

???????????????????

Dogsmakemesmile Thu 26-Aug-21 10:42:14

Yesterday's autumnal weather turned into high summer and far too hot for me or Ddog . It's cooler today in the Scottish Borders but sunny. Just made yogurt in my new yogurt maker. I know a flask is supposed to be equally effective but wasn't sure how to do it. Wash on and some window sills dusted. Tea will be a salad. I hope everyone on this thread is able to come to some sort of contentment. I wish everyone the best of days.

JaneJudge Thu 26-Aug-21 10:48:45

I never contribute on the daily threads as my life is as dull as dishwater but Mary, report whoever it is sending you the PMs to GNHQ. I doubt you will be the only person on receiving end. I hope you are ok flowers

Kalu Thu 26-Aug-21 11:09:10

Marydoll, easy for me to say, ignore the nasty PMs which are going on behind the scene but I am not the one receiving them. You have been such a sincere kind supportive friend to many, also entertaining us with your novellas.

Non Carborundum Mary, stay with us. ?

Callistemon Thu 26-Aug-21 11:15:14

Good morning Mick and everyone, I hope everyone has as good a day as possible whatever you're doing.

I rarely post as I think most people have posted and left the thread before I get round to wishing everyone good morning.
However, I do read the thread and am dismayed that Marydoll, a very interesting and popular poster, feels the need to leave. I missed her earlier post but if unkind pms have been sent, especially criticising someone for feeling extreme sadness at the death of an online friend, that is truly unpleasant.

I am neither oversensitive, nor overwrought over a poster's death, as I have been informed.
That is uncalled for; many of us were very upset at the death of an extremely popular poster who will be much missed.

So much going on in the world, there is no need for unkindness.

I hope you don't leave GN Marydoll.

Good Morning all from bright Harrogate
Marydoll I am flummoxed! If you told us the cuprit then he or she would find themselves with Jeely Nose for upsetting you!!
I'll miss you with your stories, but hope your health improves.
Just had a new blind fitted - only waited since May!! The room looks lighter already. We have Sainsburies delivery and I've made an appointment for a Covid test - fingers crossed, folks that it's negative.
Have the best day you can folks!

Greendress Thu 26-Aug-21 11:20:50

Marydoll Please don't leave, we'll all miss you too much. Don't let the silly b.......'s win.flowersflowersxx

dragonfly46 Thu 26-Aug-21 11:27:09

Rise above it Marydoll - they are not worth your time or energy. I was not aware you were receiving such PM's. As Kalu says - stay with us and continue to provide us with our daily chuckle!!

Come on Marydoll. You will be missed by so many who want you to stay with us.

Megs36 Thu 26-Aug-21 12:00:56

Good morning all, don’t know what’s been going on Marydoll I have missed your last post . ButI don’t always read the posts properly anyway. As you will know I too have been ‘told off’ in the past but you know ‘sticks and stones’ etc. So rise above whatever the problem is . ?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️

EkwaNimitee Thu 26-Aug-21 12:36:09

Just a quick late post to say how sorry I am that you feel you must leave, Marydoll and so sorry that it’s because someone has been nasty to you. This thread will definitely be diminished by the loss of your posts.

BlueSapphire Thu 26-Aug-21 13:44:46

Oh dear, so sorry to read of all the unkind things that have been going on. People wouldn't dare say such things to your face, but feel anonymous and safe to write them.

Marydoll, your novellas are looked forward to every day, not only by me, I am sure. Please rethink your decision to leave. I will really miss you and your reports from the Scottish front.
