Hello all!

Further to the rather pointless ‘Hello from GNHQ’ thread, in which we suggested and asked for several things, but nothing was actually addressed.

One particular concern was Iam64’s continuing inability to post.

I wondered aloud on the aforementioned thread whether we should have a ‘Day of Direct Action’, and all email the management about this
([email protected])

What do you all think?
Any ideas, suggestions, anything?
Thank you smile

doesn't she have any family to help her

Not everyone has family who are computer literate - some don't have any family

Love the 'Allo 'Allo references!

That's what it feels like sometimes! ?

I thought that it was like Life of Brian yesterday smile

Fannycornforth, I thought you were flying hand bag reincarnated!

What still?!? shock

The ‘funny’ thing is, I actually thought you were FH when you started a thread about falling over.
I still feel awful about that, I’m really sorry thanks
FH definitely caused a horrible culture of suspicion, and worse sad

Not the fallen Madonna with the big boobies shock

I will say this only once. Doh nit spike of the Madonna. Or of her boobies.

Bid thongs will 'happen.

Sorry Doodledog I guess it may seem like that but for myself I just do it for the fun of playing with words

Ah, that's interesting, and no need to apologise - thanks for explaining. If it's just a custom, that's less sinister than a rule that says we can't discuss 'the disappeared'.

It happened a while ago when people were talking about a woman with a thin dog, and again, I didn't understand why people were doing it, even when I got (was told!) the reference.

PS I do actually believe that there are lots of posters who are genuinely worried about upsetting GNHQ, and what it might incur them to do.
I think that some people (aka lurkers) may not even post at all because of it.
It’s a somewhat natural reaction to not knowing what can incur the management’s wrath, ie the much mentioned, nebulous talk guidelines

FannyCornforth Tue 07-Sep-21 11:39:46

Hi Doodledog I often mention Flying Handbag by name (get me!) but sometimes I feel like it’s breach of ‘how we do things on here’.
I think that it’s just a custom.
Or posters actually do think that it will get a thread pulled.
I’ll be interested to see what folk say

This is a genuine question which is not wanting to stir up any trouble, but why do we have to (or do we have to?) refer to some posters as though we were in the cast of 'Allo 'Allo:

'Psst! 'as anyone seen the pastor with the 'overing 'andbag?'

We have mentioned EllanVallin and I'm64 on this thread, (which seems to have resulted in getting Iam back, which is great) and the sky didn't fall in, yet mention of She Who Must Not Be Named has to be done in thinly concealed code that must seem cliquey to those who don't 'get it', and I think that mention of 'her' is what was referred to as 'a thread about a thread' earlier.

I may be being dim, but I am confused by all of this. I realise that there is history that I don't know (and don't need to know), but the 'in' references and coded posts seem to be encouraged when (I'm guessing) straight ones are not, and yet the vague ones must be worse for putting off new posters.

As I say, I'm not looking to drag up old grievances, but I just don't understand the rules.

You are correct Lucca
I think that they went around about January, maybe even before that

Lucca Tue 07-Sep-21 10:55:45

EV posted in June of this year by which time the aerial pocketbook I believe was long gone.

urms, I suspect the person who reported ev is no longer here. I imagine it was the airborne accessory.

That’s the one and only one I had issues with. Very good description.

I thought said poster vanished well before EV ? I may be wrong though,

Not talking carp at all. That would be the simplest thing then, if that doesn't work, she will know it's an issue with her browser or device settings. Maybe already tried?
