Where’s the one place you never want to visit again?

Tunisia. Was constantly hassled. Even round the pool. We was all inclusive. Food was awful. After one day we was counting the days until we came home.

Blackpool.

I agree with several Blackpool, Benidorm all a never again but the worst Gumbet near Bodrum. Awful place but I still laugh with my daughter when we asked for rose wine and the waiter got at bottle of red and white and mixed them as he poured! 4yrs old grandson pointed to a flat-packed truck so excited to see a zoo. We fell about laughing at the caged gyrating scantily clad girls in it. And the hotel with plastic garden furniture in the rooms and mothballs in the drains and the nightly entertainment fat over tattooed drunk English women playing stripping games, with the poor waiters trying to get tablecloths big enough to wrap round them and this a 3 keys family hotel

Las Vegas - too depressing!

Although there are some nice State Parks nearby.

Never want to visit Corfu again but only because my only visit there was in 1963 when I was a student and it was a life-enriching trip. Now I see pictures of Corfu in travel guides - resorts and crowds. We travelled by ferry from Dover, train across France and Italy to Ancona, ferry down the Adriatic and on to Corfu. I had never seen sea so dazzling blue as the Adriatic and Ionian. Stayed in rooms with local families, walked to small villages where fish was taken straight from the sea and cooked by the owner of a local bar. That is how I will always remember Corfu and want no other experience of it.

I found Naples exciting and vibrant Galaxy even though I wanted to do a lot and had a really bad chest cold!

My 33 year old daughter went in 2019 alone and stayed in a flat. She said it was "perhaps the most amazing city on earth"! She is very well traveled!

Marrakesh, and Tunisia, for exactly the same reasons already given. Also Dubai, so plastic. We ventured out to a local souk and had the same problems even though I was totally covered. I’d love to see the pyramids if only they could remove the hassling Arabs. If only they realised how off putting it all is, and how tourists will never go back.

Bulgaria. It's the only place I've offered to pay double for a flight to get out of early.

Oh that brings back memories of another thread some time ago about the worst place to go on holiday. So many GNs mentioned a resort in Bulgaria which I think was called something like Sunny Beach.

Bridgewater. We spent a night there on our way home from our holiday and it was much rougher than I was expecting, dirty and depressing. Although I love Cumbria, I would not want to go back to Carlisle. I found it had brooding, dark and depressing with a somewhat threatening atmosphere.

I’ve got a soft spot for Barry Callistemon , as Nessa would say it’s crackin’ tidy! (and the beach although it’s small, is a lot nicer than Weston)

Scotland.

Can I add China too? The rich/poor divide is horrific. Beijing airport is futuristic. You drive a few hours and it medieval living. The only thing that makes you know it is modern are the plastic bags and all the rubbish.

Clovelly was so steep and uneven I wouldn't ever go again.
Germany Cologne I was elbowed off the pavement by an old man walking towards me. A bus driver grabbed my coat and physically pulled me away from the door when asking for my ticket to let all the school children on first.
The hotel woman owner announced at dinner time You come now or you no eat, and proceeded to bang every plate on the table when serving.
This was on a coach trip to the German Xmas markets.

I LOVE Rome, made friends with locals, shopped locally, was helped a lot, ate well and relatively inexpensively and just love the place.

We went to lots of excellent off-the radar places, did some interesting research there took great photos and loved the noisy bustle.

Never had wallet/ passport or anything else stolen either!

Blackpool, Dom Republic (too many Americans plus was violently ill and in hospital on last day there. Lovely hotel though!), and Malta (no particular reason, just neither of us enjoyed it there).
I live on the Isle of Wight by the way. This year we've had even more visitors than usual. Must be doing something right!

Dubai

I had two fabulous holidays in Goa, but I totally agree about the poverty. The first night I couldn’t sleep a wink as my mind was going overdrive due to the huge culture shock.
I didn’t see any filth though.
I remember there was a mother cat with kittens living on the resort. I used to get scrambled eggs for them from the breakfast buffet.
A member of staff killed the kittens. It was awful.
Life is cheap

The Goan people are lovely.
We watched the little children playing cricket on the beach. We’d buy them bottles of coke, and they were so excited and grateful.

I could bang on about Goa for ages, so I’ll stop now!

Vatican City - all of those riches just didnt feel right to me.

Vegas - A very odd place to be - loved the holtels but generally odd to me. Maybe its because I am not a gambler

Port Huron crossing from Canada to USA.
The majority of the staff that we dealt with were SO aggressive.
They were quite unnecessarily demeaning, rude, sexist and racist to people around us.
With one exception they made my husband and I afraid and anxious.

I was sick with fear for a pair of young international students and ashamed of the way they treated an American Pakistani family.
Made me never want to go to America again.
I wouldn't wish this place on my "worst enemy".
The "land of the free" appears to be a sick joke here.
