Morning everyone I’ve no idea what the weathers like here on the east coast of Fife.

After yesterday morning when I tore a ligament in my back I’ve been in excruciating pain ever since. I can hardly swing my legs out the bed. Luckily I had a lovely gp phone me and then she prescribed ibuprofen gel with a relaxing drug called diazepam and advised me to take paracetamol, things have been more tolerable but still very painful. I’m unsure if I’ll manage to get out of bed today, perhaps one more day will do it.

My dh is nearing the end of his tether we’re both in a groundhog nightmare. The tv man and the man from the mobility centre are both coming in this morning that should take our mind of the sore back, fingers crossed

I’ll just keep taking the painkillers and hopefully I’ll sleep well throughout the day letting my poor back do the healing.

Think of poor me today I’ll let you know tomorrow how things have been, hugs everyone.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cloudy cool South Yorkshire. Rain expected later I think. It’s DH’s birthday today but he is not in a birthday mood due to having had a tooth out yesterday afternoon, so we will have a quiet day. We can’t go out anyway because the stair and landing carpet is being fitted today - it’ll be good to have all that squared away.
Corner I hope your energy levels increase as the day goes on.
Ash next time OD cooks liver and onions, please invite me??! Good to hear he’s improving!
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s very grey in Suffolk but hasn’t started to rain yet. I am in splendid isolation in a spare room, having convinced myself at about 4am that I had Covid. Now I don’t think so but I’ll do a test later, to be sure.
It’s very comfy in here!
Today is a housework day as it is forecast to rain. I am full of enthusiasm. Not.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Good morning all from a damp Weston, I’m in shock from eating an early breakfast! I normally eat about 10:30 at home. We’re off I don’t know where today, not made a plan yet. Lots of busy bees on here with lovely knitting, not my forte at all. Good progress on OD I see.
Enjoy your day all with hopefully a few ???.

Good morning Mick, good morning all from overcast Anglesey where it’s obviously overnight, wet wet wet.
Good to hear that you’re planning some outings further afield Mick
Sorry about your back Elizabeth, very frustrating for you.
Happy birthday to Mr Greyduster. ?
Cancelled LWW, Urms, oh no, perhaps you’ll have to join the Sherry at home club today. ? cheers sherrydrinkers everywhere.
My favourite are the first two dolls Alizarin, they look familiar but I can’t think who.
Great pics NannyJ, looks like a lovely place, another one on my list of as yet unexplored areas.
Thinking of you all, most especially grandMattie.
Have the best day you can ?

Gelisajams Tue 14-Sept-21 09:14:43

Good morning from a damp Morecambe Bay. That means the planned grass cut for today is on hold. Perhaps I’ll watch the bird activity in our garden. I don’t know what it is this morning but we have had an influx of birds - tits, blackbirds, robins and a thrush. There are lots of berries at the moment. I’m sure some of the birds are drunk! The pigeons love the elder, they fly in land near a spray of berries have a couple of pecks then invariably fall off, only remembering they can fly seconds before hitting the ground.
I may also investigate further some of the features of our electric car. I spent much of yesterday trying to connect the car to an app on my phone. I can now defrost the car and heat it up without leaving the house as well as programming it to charge during the night when hopefully we will eventually get on the cheaper night tariff. This car is amazing and a dream to drive though it does have a lot of different beeps which is a bit disconcerting. I wish my father who was a motor mechanic could see it!
Wishing everyone the best day possible- take care and stay safe ?

Goodness me Gelisajams, sounds as though you’ll be able to send that car out to do the shopping while you put your feet up.

Gelisajams, that is a wonderful sentence about the pigeons, what a picture of startled birds I have in my head!

Dismal damp morning but two fit chaps are cleaning the guttering (actually just having a coffee in their van just now). Preparations for winter are necessary but a depressing thought.

Life is a bit calmer after a very trying week and I am trying to look on the bright side though it’s not easy. DH is still in bed, having decided he was comfortable, so I am at a loss for something to do! No doubt DH will cause something.

Dogsmakemesmile Tue 14-Sept-21 10:07:18

Drizzly and cool here in the Scottish Borders. All windows open as family member self isolating. Meals on tray outside room etc. Counting my blessings as have dishwasher/tumble dryer/washing machine which is making life easier. So far the rest of us negative.
Woman's Hour on. Lentil soup made again (DH's favourite). Will make bread shortly. Elizabeth1 thinking of you.

GrannySomerser I hope your other half snoozes while you gather a bit more energy xxxx

Good morning Mick and all. Just a flying visit, electricity is off in most of the house. Waiting for an electrician now.

EkwaNimitee Tue 14-Sept-21 10:53:18

Good morning, Mick and everyone from rainy Carlisle so not a gardening day.
My hospital appointment went well, my iron levels aren't too high and my liver is good so venesection is to only happen twice a year, not monthly. Cutting back on iron intake has obviously paid off.
More medical stuff today, I have a telephone chat booked with my doc re the headaches which I have had for a month now.
On Thursday I will have a tooth extraction which I am dreading and I'm hoping she will also put my crown back in, it's been waiting a fortnight now. I rather expected quicker action from a private practice.
Never mind! I shall divert myself with a bit of housework.
I hope your back is soon improved, Elizabeth and that the rest of us have the best possible day.

I don't post much but usually look at this thread. I am always amazed at the talents shown by our knitting grans. Such beautiful work! I am sorry for those of you who are in pain or ill, or your dear other halves.

By the way, I must have missed this: why isn't Marydoll posting?

Have a good day all.

Blossoming Tue 14-Sept-21 13:22:15

We have electricity again, hurrah! ?????
