Well, this kitchen is lovely, I love the cool decor and colourful rugs.
I think I should have typed www.westwoodlakes.co.uk as the other doesn`t seem to work.

Good choice Yia love their clothes!

muse Wed 22-Sept-21 21:50:06

Me too Jax. I love their funky styles so put with the length of the sleeves (a tad short for me).

Love to see a photo of your outfit Yiayia4.

‘Evening All’.

A later post this evening from Spain as we’ve been out for dinner down on the marina and are now back up in the taxi. I’ve taken off my mascara and lipstick, brushed my teeth and got my pj’s on. It’s a lovely soft evening so sat on our mini balcony - my pj’s are shorts with a vest top and at just after 11pm it’s not the least bit chilly. I shall miss all this.

Himself is filling out our locator form, entering in the necessary details for our flight home on Friday with our negative rapid antigen results. He could of course leave this till tomorrow morning but he likes to get things done. Ah well, they say opposites attract.

Glad to hear you’re feeling more like yourself today Blossoming. You make light of your distressing symptoms I feel. How lovely to have you back in soops comforting kitchen grandMattie. By the way - no equinox thunderstorm here today after all! I am late to the party Charleygirl but hope you had a lovely birthday - those pups sound very cute!

Hi to you Doodle ?
Nanight everyone. Sleep tight. x

Nannagarra Thu 23-Sept-21 00:52:17

Late (early?) to the kitchen: my busy Wednesday involved driving on the M6 (?) to the dentist and visits from DGC and AC.
Happy birthday Charleygirl5.
Sending hugs to grandMattie.
Another shoe suggestion: John Lewis used to sell satin shoes which could be dyed to any colour you chose. If this appeals, it might be worth checking if the service is still provided.
Have a good day everyone.

Dogsmakemesmile Thu 23-Sept-21 09:40:42

Good morning kitcheners. I think I inadvertently posted news meant for here on the Good Morning thread. Never mind. No news from my mother's nursing home so I am assuming she is well. I am thinking of all residents.
Have dough rising and will attempt minestrone soup later. Last year I bought a wreath of lights and sequins (not as garish as it sounds) and we put it in the living room window. I switched it on today as so dim outside. I find it cheering. Never thought I would buy something like that.Take care

Grandmabatty Thu 23-Sept-21 12:11:27

Dogsmakemesmile I'll keep my fingers crossed for your mum. I have never made minestrone soup. You have got me interested so I might make it this weekend. Today is my day to myself. I've cleaned the windows, ironed and generally tidied up. Lunch will be poached eggs on sourdough toast. Dinner is chicken in a cheese and mustard sauce with vegetables. I'm about to hoover then have lunch. This afternoon will be sewing. It's such a peaceful day inside. Outside is blowy. Brooke I missed your son's accident. I hope he's recovering. Urmstongran Happy last day in sunny Spain. Safe journey home. Grandmattie I think of you often. It's lovely to see you in the kitchen. Take care all.

muse Thu 23-Sept-21 13:30:19

Lovely to see your post in the kitchen GrandMattie.?

Last day Urm. You seem well prepared for all eventualities at the airport. Good luck. Hope you've got your thermals ready It's getting cooler here.

Very mixed day. Awoke to more mozzie bites. Because of MrM's allergy to some bites, we don't have windows open and there are mozzie traps around. I'm really puzzled and angry. One on my jaw line this morning. That's 7 now in total.

Success on the phone this morning. Boiler service booked (good price), replacement tub of grout on its way, lost pallet of limestone cobbles located and on its way to us tomorrow. It should have arrived yesterday.

Happiness on the horizon. DD arrives next Thursday morning and staying with us through to Sunday. Her doctor has given her the check up and diagnosed trapped nerve in her arm. This explains the loss of feeling and movement. Medication prescribed and there's some improvement. She has started to drive again.

MrM's dressing day so I shall be insistent that he elevates his leg for a few hours afterwards and painkillers before he goes. They're in his hand as I type.

Digger has had to put into action again today. Tarmac man says we need to have a deeper layer of hardcore. It's patchy in areas. More clay to dispose of. MrM was filling up another hole this morning which was created by a fallen tree during the last winds.

Grandmabatty, poached eggs on sourdough toast here too today - breakfast. My favourite.

Hope everyone has a trouble free Thursday.

soop Thu 23-Sept-21 14:41:08

Hello my darlin's. I am finishing the pussycat portrait in readiness for posting tomorrow. I shall share with you in due course.

Our pussy cat has visited. Mr Soop visited the local shop for freshly cooked chicken for a special brunch (for the cat). Don't laugh! wink

Lady in village who has had private surgery and is now convalescing, phoned to say that she's not felt this good in years. I also received a letter from the consultant that I've an appointment with. Yay! every day seems to promise a satisfactory journey to a resolution.

Ironing to tackle. I shall return thereafter.

Yiayia4 Thu 23-Sept-21 14:57:16

All sounding good Soop fingers crossed for a good outcome.?
I had planed to go to John Lewis and Bentalls today, shoe shopping!but after a rotten night again not feeling like it, ?will try again next week.I wonder if boots would look O.K maybe worth trying? Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
Pleased your daughter is improving Muse you must be looking forward to seeing her?

Take care Kitcheners have a pleasant evening.

Grandmabatty Thu 23-Sept-21 15:58:54

Muse the poached eggs were perfect
Could they be cat or dog flea bites? My friend came out in bites and it turned out they were fleas from her cat. Soop better news for you too.
I must be sickening for something. I've cleaned the oven too!

Grandmabatty Thu 23-Sept-21 15:59:21

Yiayia I hope you feel better soon ?

Jaxjacky Thu 23-Sept-21 15:59:36

Sorry you’ve had a bad night Yia, let’s see the outfit…might give a view on boots if you’d like?
Oh, snippets of encouragement soop it must be tempting to imagine the holy grail ahead, we’re all really hoping that it comes to fruition.
I thought your DD was visiting soon muse how exciting, even better with her arm healing. MrM must hopefully see the benefit of some rest while he heals.
My lovely, persistent daughter has finally, after as she put it ‘been brutal and on the phone most of the afternoon’ secured an appointment for Imogen’s brain scan, an EEG is booked for the 8th. Makes you wonder how those less able or of a different nature battle through these obstacles.
I’ve spent much of the day either driving people or trying to sort lifts, I’ve had to let one person know I’ve failed, I feel disappointed, it’s voluntary, but normally I get it all sorted out.
I’ll get on with dinner now, catch up later x

brook2704 Thu 23-Sept-21 16:20:36

All sounding much more promising soop hopefully you’ll be sorted very soon and ready for new adventures!

I’m just back from town having spent the last couple of hours browsing the shops for inspiration for DGS 8th birthday coming up soon. Like lots of other children he’s already got loads of stuff but a Harry Potter scrabble game did catch my eye plus some football books that’s his other main interest. Anyhow I’d best check it out with his mum first in case she has other ideas ?
Sorry to hear about the mozzie bites muse - horrible things, hope they’re not too itchy and a bit better soon
I think boots could look ok yia especially if it’s a funky style dress - they could look quite modern and trendy ?

brook2704 Thu 23-Sept-21 16:22:52

Good on your daughter Jax for being so persistent - well done her

Hellogirl1 Thu 23-Sept-21 16:56:18

Sorry to be late CharleyG, Many Happy Returns of the Day for yesterday. I hope it was a good `un!

Yiayia4 Thu 23-Sept-21 17:08:56

This is the dress and with jacket.

Grandmabatty Thu 23-Sept-21 17:13:49

Yiayia that is a stunning outfit

BladeAnnie Thu 23-Sept-21 17:17:18

Good afternoon dear kitcheners. soop - thank you ?? ?.GrandMattie lovely to see you ?. A lovely day seeing my adorable little grandchildren - the first time since isolation ended. SiL is thankfully OK again but it is still very much out there. I'm just sewing some little duck buttons onto the cardigan and seeing little DGS this morning it will definitely fit him ?. I'm on nanna duty in the morning while DD1 goes for her covid vaccine. She didn't have it whilst she was pregnant but still nursed on a covid ward! I'll get on now with these buttons and hope everyone has a pleasant evening

muse Thu 23-Sept-21 17:18:11

Wow Yiayia Love the dress and it does look so good with the blue jacket. I can see your desire for blue shoes. Good luck with the continued search. Yes - try an ankle boot.

Do you have a second choice jacket? Black?

soop Thu 23-Sept-21 17:48:49

Yia Your outfit is so right for you. This lot have been (as always) been most helpful with all their suggestions.
I like muse's message re a neat ankle boot. Very trendy and comfortable with it.

The ironing was a little too much to ask of my body, however, it's done.

The wee portrait is ready to post tomorrow. All that I need to do right now is tidy the so-called studio. after which, feet up and a good honest brew.

Mr Soop has had sun damage zapped. He has a regular appointment at the hospital. It is slightly uncomfortable during the freezing...it becomes angry looking for a few days, after which it all calms down.

Until we meet again tomorrow, please continue to take very good care of yourselves. smile moon

soop Thu 23-Sept-21 17:49:34

Sun damage is on his scalp. Thought that I should clarify.

SueDonim Thu 23-Sept-21 18:00:40

Hello, GrandMattie. I’ve been thinking of you lately. flowers

Belated birthday wishes, Charleygirl cupcake

What a pretty dress, Yia!.

Bon voyage, Urmstongran.

Muse, you’re so busy you’ll meet yourself coming back, as my mum would say! grin

Soop, all these baby steps towards resolving your problem sound good. As for the fresh chicken for your cat - my cat has just been for his inoculations at the vet. The vet implied that my cat is pampered. I’m sure I don’t know what on earth he means! wink

Another busy few days here. The garage clearance ground to a halt as Dh has developed a rather nasty cold. He isn’t one of those men prone to Man Flu so I knew he was feeling pretty rough. He got a PCR test because of the symptoms - negative, thank goodness and today he seems a bit better.

I met up with a friend yesterday for lunch and to wander round some shops. It was a seaside town midway between us so about 75minute drive for me. My goodness, it was windy! We certainly had our cobwebs blown away. grin

I’ve been catching up on some of those life admin jobs that we tend to put off for as long as possible. Or maybe that’s just me… Anyway, I’ve been in contact with someone to do a drainage job in the garden, called the dealer about my winter tyres. I also had to call the vet this morning to check the time of my appointment because I couldn’t read my own handwriting on my calendar- embarrassing! blush

I must say, I’ve had one of those confusing weeks. All day yesterday I thought it was Friday and all day today I’ve thought it was Friday. I’m awaiting tomorrow quite eagerly to find out what day my brain thinks it is. confused

Nannytopsy Thu 23-Sept-21 19:25:06

Hello everyone! Spent some happy hours out in the garden and the new flowerbed is ready for filling with soil/compost and then planting. I may have to go plant shopping ?
Bon Voyage urms. I’ve just read an article on the best Spanish cities and now I want to go on a trip! One of these days.
Hope everyone has a good evening.

Jaxjacky Thu 23-Sept-21 19:55:15

SueDonim you’ve made me laugh with your ‘Fridays’…nearly there! I do know what you mean with putting stuff off, I put pseudo people in my phone (online passwords) then haven’t a clue what they are, always seems a good idea at the time.
Ankle boots would be great Yia with such a delightful outfit, black to go with the buttons, stunning.
Safe journey tomorrow Urmstongram.
Duck buttons BA aah, they take me back in time to small things for small people.
Have a good evening all x
