Good Evening dear Kitcheners
What a lot of talk about heating/blankets/squally weather and low temperatures! So glad that here we can postpone the spectre of winter for a long time yet. Today was 29 degrees again and I had to put a hat on whilst watering the plants.
Well.....PING! Jax - the microwave has been spotted, discussed, ordered and will be here on Friday morning. Yaaay! I did cheer up at the thought of never having to discuss one again. Finding something that fits, will bake, grill, defrost and microwave will be a big step up on my old one and I suppose I can grudgingly admit that our time searching wasn't wasted.
Not anxious to do it again any time soon, though. Tomorrow no shopping, just sightseeing and maybe a beach walk at the end of the day. Bliss.
I think that Her Royal Soopiness said that they would be back late from Glasgow and they'd obviously be tired, so no news until tomorrow? I hope they had a good day and have returned buoyed up with some decent news and a plan!
A lovely Gnet poster, Grandmajean has given me permission to post a photo of one of her Grandcats. Just wait until you see him. He's still a baby but impossibly cute and if his little face doesn't prompt Soop to propose one of her wonderful portraits, then I don't know what will. Post will be soon - or once I locate the photograph to hang in the Kitchen gallery.
You have made me laugh, Nannagarra - a former pupil agreed to come and give you a quote, but never arrived. Stick him in detention the next time you set eyes on his van (post the threat under his windscreen wiper). He needs to be very a'feared, I reckon, or you've wasted a lot of time on your career!
Happy to see how many Kitcheners have fun times with little GC's. When they're small, they encourage us to see everything through new eyes, don't they. Glad you found your Stepfather in the pink, Urms and he missed you! We never had 'Stepfather' in our family. The title was 'Asdad' - someone who wasn't your Dad, but as good as one!
Very relieved that your DD is sufficiently blessed with fuel to enable her to do the journey on Thursday, Muse. Now that WOULD have been a disaster, wouldn't it. I can't help thinking that what the new Governor of the Bank of England said might just have a smidgen of truth in it. He's just waiting for the Plague of Locusts to arrive, apparently! Maybe it's just because I'm viewing the various crises through a long lens, but it does rather seem as if Great Britain is really going through it at present. Things must calm down and get better quickly. May you all have sufficient petrol in your tanks, and soon, we don't want a different kind of lockdown rearing its head. Onwards and upwards were the watchwords once summer arrived and onwards and upwards it should be. So be of good cheer, snuggle under the heavier duvets or electric blankets with a nice cup of something and a bedtime book.
Smiley faces for tomorrow ladies, nothing's going to stop us now! ?
Nighty night and sweet dreams all. x
