Well, this kitchen is lovely, I love the cool decor and colourful rugs.
I think I should have typed www.westwoodlakes.co.uk as the other doesn`t seem to work.

A happy day to the soops.
I have been reflecting on what my life was like when we had been married for 33 years, the conclusion was that it was a million miles away from life now.
As they say the past is another country.
I have been put on a very difficult and unsettling position this week and I don’t know who is behind it.
Someone, only known to me through extended family, turned up on Wednesday morning to say he is homeless and can he come and live with me for a few months.
I have seen him once in the last 4/5 years.
He was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis when he was three and nearly died.
So, he has not yet been vaccinated, however that was the least of my problems, I just don’t want him here and why should I?
I have let him know my decision today, I was so shocked at his request on Wednesday that I was in a turmoil but I feel so sad for him that it is playing on all my emotions, I feel so angry with whoever suggested it, it certainly wouldn’t have been his own idea.
Who ever thought life should be oeaceful and trouble free in ones 80’s?

Wishing soop and Mrsoop a Very Happy Anniversary.
You make an amazing couple,
your family must all look up to you both, and the example of love and caring that you demonstrate daily to each other ? ?

Grandmabatty Fri 01-Oct-21 14:16:35

Annsixty I hope you refused. You don't really know this young man and if you did let him move in, the chances are it would be for longer than a few months. Perhaps no-one has suggested you but he's burnt his boats elsewhere and thinks you'd be an easy mark. I would have someone there when you tell him just in case. What a horrible position to be put in!
Soop Happy Anniversary to you both. I was a day early! I hope you are celebrating.
Dd and dgs popped in after playgroup. They hadn't been going to, but the boy wonder was upset as he wanted to see me. Didn't that make me happy! Not that he was upset, you know what I mean. Dd's blood pressure has returned to normal which is good news.
Today I tidied away my mini greenhouse as it had blown over in the wind and sent plant pots flying everywhere in my garden. It's now disassembled and in the summer house alongside a rather large spider, however I'd rather the spider stayed there and didn't pack it's case and move in to my house!
Tonight I am going out. My best friend has asked if I'll come with her to a local children's theatre show. I would rather stick pins in my eyes but she's a very good friend and wants to share the torture. I am glad that these things have started up as it's such a great way for young people to spend time, however I'm a bit anxious as I haven't been amongst lots of people since BC (before covid). Masks are still the order of the day though. So adieu kitcheners, until tomorrow.

Happy anniversary to the Soops ?

Blossoming Fri 01-Oct-21 16:22:28

Hope the Soops are having a lovely anniversary and the Muses are enjoying time with their daughter.

annsixty of course you should say no, he is a stranger to you really and who knows how the situation might develop. What an awful position to be put in.

Hope it’s better than expected grandmabatty, at least the performers will be enjoying themselves.

I’ve made a slow cooker curry for later, culled and shredded more unwanted documents and am now settling down to spend a lazy evening watching a film with Mr. B. I really must make an effort to sort and file my hospital related stuff like Mr. Soop.

soop Fri 01-Oct-21 16:33:11

You darling lot are the kindest peeps on Gransnet. Thank you for all your good wishes.

We had lunch out with our best friends and as always, the food and ambience at Glenbarr was all that we wished for.

We are needing to relax. I am wanting (at this unearthly hour) to slip into jimjams but, as it's a special occasion, I shall remain all dolled up for another hour or so.

Photos taken of the two of us in the garden by our pal, turned out to be on a video. I cannot therefore include a still of we two all wind-swept and such. hmm

However, here is one I took of Mr Soop looking ready to nod off, together the pics I promised of the tartan boots. grin

I shall then send you all my love and tomorrow, I shall be more or less back to a normal routine. Whatever that may be...wink

Woo, woo, Soop, you look fabulous! Love the boots !!

Grandmafrench Fri 01-Oct-21 17:23:55

Happy Happy Anniversary to you both, dear Soops, and many more wonderful times together.
That smile - and don't you just look like a little dolly, I love those boots.
Mr J is definitely competing with his wonderful socks.

And did I miss the celebratory unveiling of the new chairs? I do hope you're really pleased with them - they look smashing.

We've been out and about a lot today and I am just thinking seriously about a nice cold G&T., before supper.

Very well done, Ann, for keeping your sensible head on....however difficult that felt and however it messed with your emotions. What's the matter with people even thinking to interfere with your life in that way? I'm sure you're the sort who would never turn away from helping someone if you could - but living with you? Whatever next? I'm sure you've done the right thing.

Good to see you, Lins. Hope you are all well, including that darling dog?

Enjoy your evening out, GrandmaB - You're a good sport to go along with your friend. I bet you'll have a laugh if nothing else. Best foot - and mask - forward and pleased to hear about your DD's blood pressure.

A super evening to you all and big smiles and waves from me and France ?‍♀️???

annodomini Fri 01-Oct-21 17:31:05

Happy Anniversary and lang may your lum reek, Soop and Mr S - whatever happened to McSporran?
An expensive day. Having called out my breakdown service to re-charge my (car's) battery three times in seven months, I decided it was time to replace it. Why did no-one tell me that Kias have particularly pricey batteries? Ouch!

GrannyGravy13 Fri 01-Oct-21 17:31:55

Beautiful as always soop Happy Anniversary ???

Yiayia4 Fri 01-Oct-21 17:37:18

You have certainly done the right thing Anne you don’t need that stress.
I have spoken to the hospital today. They will take me off the list for now and I can be put back on when I’m ready. It is a shame but I have so much to lose.A special birthday and wedding anniversary celebration and Christmas away with the family.I will be the bionic ? one day.
Enjoy your evening everyone.

hulahoop Fri 01-Oct-21 17:38:22

Happy Anniversary Soop ???

chicken Fri 01-Oct-21 17:38:28

Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Soop. Love the tartan boots!

Annsixty. I wouldn't share my house with anyone who made me feel uncomfortable. In our eighties I think we deserve to follow our own wishes. Most of us have spent our lives suppressing our own longings in order to help others and if we can't put ourselves first for once, then when will we ever.

I've been really busy for weeks baking and jam making for a charity close to my heart, running a little stall on my driveway but no sooner had I closed it down for the autumn and winter than I was struck down by pulmonary embolisms in both lungs so I'm feeling very breathless and feeble and not enjoying it at all. This happened just after my booster jab.The hospital doctors said there was no connection but I'm uneasy.

Please take it as read that I'm sending good wishes to you all. I've missed out so many pages of posts and haven't the strength right now to catch up. Baker sends his best wishes, but not a share of his dinner, to all of his feline friends.

Yiayia4 Fri 01-Oct-21 17:54:53

What a good friend you are Grandmabatty.

You look absolutely gorgeous soop love the boots! ??

cornergran Fri 01-Oct-21 18:37:10

Late happy anniversary to you both soop. Happiness shines out of you and mr soop. Your room looks very cosy and the boots are fabulous.

Well done for refusing ann , all sorts of alarm bells were ringing in me as I read your post.

Was she truly a dentist grandmafrench? Sounds far from professional. Your poor husband.

Good luck grandmab, you never know it may be enjoyable.

Quiet-ish day here today, I managed to faff around with some clothes and found some trousers that will go over the knee which still resembles an over inflated football at times. Just as well as there is an unexpected and totally positive family get together tomorrow in a very good Chinese restaurant. I’m a little concerned as it involves a fair car journey, suspect the knee will object but it will be worth it,

TOYA. have a good weekend everyone.

Charleygirl5 Fri 01-Oct-21 18:46:35

annsixty you made the correct decision. If he did move in, how and when would you ever get rid of him? Also for medical reasons he has not been vaccinated so that is putting your health at risk. If he is likely to contact you again could your granddaughter not be around if possible? That is something you could well do without.

soop you have had a lovely relaxing day, have a restful evening.
TOYA
