My stepfather enjoyed his afternoon in the wine bar (7 of us) then up to ours for a plate of dinner. To be honest I think as I get older, I’m of the opinion that time spent with people is the absolute best. Sat chatting and enjoying each other’s company is wonderful. Who cares where we live, how much money (or not) we have?

Sadness in your house tonight BladeAnnie as you have a ‘Misty’ shaped hole to navigate. x

So sorry for your loss BladeAnnie, Misty was indeed beautiful. Our pets are part of our family, they steal a piece of our heart and give us so much love in return.

Yes, the Argy crowd are hanging out in the kitchen during our refurbishment. We are hoping to open again at Christmas for the festive season so hope to see everyone there.

Urmstongran, you’ve evoked memories of Mum buying Dad a barrel of Aberlour one Christmas, he only got a certificate on the day. Many months later the wooden casks with the bottles arrived, each bottle labelled with his name. Thank you.

I don’t stand a chance of catching up with everyone so I’ll just say that I’m so sorry about Misty, Bladeannie and Soop, those boots would not have looked out of place at the opening of the new session of Scottish Parliament today. Very smart indeed!

I’m home from my three day sojourn down with now-40-weeks pregnant dd. No sign of baby yet. Dd had a nasty fall in town this morning (I wasn’t there). She wasn’t too badly hurt, sore hands and knees from how she landed, but had a bit of a shock.

It’s been a busy few days, as it can only be with a three-year-old in the mix! I hope I was useful and helped pass the time for dd. I’d also forgotten how much laundry there is with a young one in the house, and the baby isn’t even here yet. I got petrol on my home, so now have enough for two round trips (about 150 miles) to dd’s. No queues and the price had gone down.

My dd2 is waiting on the result of a Covid test. She’s had quite a strong reaction to her booster CV jab and as she’s a medic in A&E they won’t let her back until she’s tested. She was too ill to drive to get a test so had to get a postal one.

I’m off a relaxing bath now. Sweet dreams, everyone. Xx

I live in NW London, Boris thinks the petrol shortage is stabilising. If he thinks queuing for 5 hours is fine- then it must be. The vast majority of stations are closed and a couple closer to the city centre are charging £2.65 a litre.
The army will be on the road on Monday- I doubt if they will stop the long queues but it is a start. I am using my car for groceries once a week. Thank God I no longer work.

RIP lovely Misty. None of my cats has ever replaced the previous incumbent, they`ve just followed on, because they`ve all been irreplaceable.

BladeAnnie so sorry to hear that you have lost your lovely Misty from this world. She hasn't gone but is just out of sight and you

will catch glimpses of her out of the corner of your eye as she says her gradual farewell.

I have to wait for the blood clots on my lungs to dissolve gradually under the influence of blood thinners, so at the moment any exertion leaves me breathless. I tottered round the living room with the vacuum cleaner as I couldn't stand the mess any longer but am now sitting down to regain my breath.Alas, Mr Rooster is very good at creating havoc but no good at all at clearing it up!

Sorry to hear about your dds fall SueDonim. I hope she wasn't too shaken up. A new baby soon, exciting times.

Good morning all
After a fairly bright start it has started raining again.
Yesterday was very wet.

So sorry about Misty, the family must be very sad.
I am looking at Molly, asleep on the the top of the back cushions on the small sofa and thinking how lucky I am to have her.

My evening was very successful and appreciated by my friend, she had provided a cheese course, the Stilton was so good.
We sat at the table from 7 till 10, catching up and setting the world to rights as we all do.
I got a taxi home at 10;15 having really enjoyed being out.

Nothing on the cards today or mostly for the rest of the week except for fortnightly coffee on Tuesday with a good friend.

My eldest DS had a bad fall yesterday.He fell getting out of the shower.He’s an amputee and fell on his stump,luckily very bruised but o.k.Must have been very painful but he just gets on with it as usual,very stoic.

DH has gone to watch junior football and I’ve just made blueberry muffins,so enjoy with your coffee everyone.

The sun shone in many ways when DD arrived last Wednesday but this morning we had to say goodbye. Didn't want that last hug to end. Where have these three and a bit days gone? ?
Yesterday was terrible weather☔but we braved a walk in our local woods and found a new cafe that allowed dogs. It was the old chapel in the next village and is now a craft centre with studios. DD browsed and bought some Christmas materials to make a patchwork wreath. Not a craft she has tried before but it will also be of interest to DGD. I'm about to become a regular visitor. They have some good craft sessions coming up.

Last night, before the final veggie meal of her visit (joint session) we spent ages in the new build and her fresh eyes have given me the enthusiasm to redesign the open plan area. Never totally happy with it.

Great fun was had watching Strictly together. We are both fans. MrM came in half way through and joined us?. We didn't manage to get out all together but because of the horrible weather, but the three of us have spent hours chatting.

Just off to walk Mya, as the sun is out, but back soon to post more as it is a shower on, shower off day.

Chicken I hope you get well soon. That sounds awful. Suedonim your poor daughter! I hope she's ok. My daughter who is 30 weeks pregnant had a fall last week, putting out the rubbish and has jerked her back. She's ok though. And Yiayia, your poor son too!

I had breakfast with my son and his girlfriend today. He wanted to borrow my suitcase as he's going to work in London for a month so he invited me to breakfast in a Greek restaurant. I had sausage, bacon and egg in a large pitta, but it was more like a potato scone. Oh my, it was delicious and filling. I'm pottering at home now and resting as I'm feeling a little under the weather. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

Good afternoon kitcheners. Beautiful day at the moment. Had very exciting morning out in Melrose and other places. Went in to Marks and Sparks. Shops empty of shoppers so very easy and pleasant. Despite clutching my credit card in my hand I had no urge to buy much. Just some tights. A lovely drive around though. Have done three loads of washing and have tea made in my head if that makes sense. My best wishes to all.

She was our first family cat when we became a family of us three girls and Duncan came along a year later. Misty was always Sophie's girl and there was never any question when she moved out, Misty would go too. So she's been part of all our lives for the past 17 years (was around 1 when we rescued her). She was well until Wedesday and from there, it all went downhill for her. But she's free from pain now and able to run free at Rainbow Bridge. GrandmaJean beautiful words which I have written down to remember. I'm sorry this post is all about me but I'm sending you all gentle virtual hugs for your kindness. Enjoy the rest of Sunday

Talking of falls...when I was incarcerated in the private hospital in Cornwall after tricky surgery, I was given powerful enemas to make me "go". Story ends with me in the shower trying to clean up a ghastly "accident" from the nethers. I lunged for the shower unit, slipped and pulled the entire contraption off the wall. A very embarrassing incident that continues to haunt me.
