DH went fishing yesterday so I started doing Crystal art stocking fillers,tote bags and key rings all good fun.I have a few to finish before starting an Everton poster for DS2, I think that will take a few weeks to complete.

I feel extraordinarily tired today but has been a busy week and I think it's maybe caught up with me. I'm going for a shower shortly and change into my lounge wear (ie - PJs!!). Mr BA very kindly took my mum to have her hair "done" yesterday and popped into M&S and brought us a pizza and garlic mushrooms - so that's on the menu tonight. Enjoy the rest of your Friday

I am making satisfactory progress with the pussy cat portrait. Working from photographs isn't ideal because certain important definition can be lost. However, fingers crossed, I haven't had to cut my ear off thus far.

A mixed day weather-wise. We've experienced all four seasons since breakfast time.

I’ve elbowed ‘Dixon’ to show a photo taken earlier on the ‘Clip & Climb’ wall, Honestly the children LOVED it! £8 each for an hour.

The Boy Wonder said it was even better than he thought it would be. L’il Miss struggled on some of the designs because her arms & legs weren’t quite long enough to S T R E T C H up to the next foothold. You have to be 4y and so she just qualifies. On the 3 easier climbs she went right up to the top!

Great fun anyway. I’d totally recommend it grans - somewhere to go on a rainy weekend and a bit different too for the children!

It has been a gay day (to badly quote the late Larry Grayson!) and things have gone very well.

Well, clearly a lot better than a day chez Susan! What a trouper you are......I can face lots of things (I have animals!) but vomit does make me feel just a bit dodgy shall we say? And in the morning? And without the promise of a nice cup of tea after all the drama. Hope SiL was suitably chastened. If I did what you do, I think I'd always expect some sort of 'treat' in the fridge for when I finally managed to put up my feet.* Maybe you could persuade Sharky's best friend to drop those parents a line on your behalf? * ????(??)

"Suspicious activity", soop. Not very original, are they? I often wondered what the B in BT stood for - now I know. You'll not get banned, Jean - there must be loads of us well ahead of you in the queue. The air hereabouts can be quite blue on bad days. But, as I said, today has been a very very good one. Yay!

We heard that the microwave man will arrive to fit it on Tuesday, bringing with him the Cooker hood. Maybe a Logistics lorry was hi-jacked on the A9 from Spain to Italy, just as it passed along the French coast. Can't think of any other reason why we have been given such prompt service. But, grateful.

Our free vouchers to pick up flu shots from the Pharmacie have also arrived. Then I really must arrange for our 3rd/booster Pfizer jabs. The sun has shone and shone today and although the autoroute was really busy we drove to Montpellier and visited a very nice and confidence-boosting dentist. Granddadfrench was a lot more impressed than when he did his recent dentist survey. The getaway vehicle was not needed. This lady had a space-age surgery in a lovely modern building, very close to a good coffee shop and above convenient underground parking. I am attaching a photo of the waiting room (didn't like to photograph the surgery as we had only just met her!) and a view of the building. DH had a painless filling and an 'onlay' with a super finish for €63 - our 35% 'contribution' towards the remainder of her fee, funded by the government, of €180. Thought at least one of you Kitchen types might find this absolutely fascinating!!!!!!!!! ?

One of you - was it Dogs - has got herself in a twist and taken to her bed to avoid lots of pain. Do you also have a poorly dog? (Listen to me rambling on without the facts, I'm just afraid of losing my post but didn't want not to comment). Hope he is lots better. Haven't made a proper note, sorry, so if it's you with these problems, I do hope you and your darling dog are feeling better. It's so easy to move awkwardly and then pay the price, isn't it.

You're all so kind to comment on the dental doings! All is now well. Hope life is good in Cornish Cornwall and in Hants, muse and jax - and you have some fun this weekend.

Anyone with pain or worries or just some of life's annoyances - hope they all pass and you are returned to fighting fit optimism in the fastest of times.

Not sure what advice to give about your outing, GrannyGravy. If you have now lost all confidence, you could tough it out with a paper bag over your head, I suppose - or be like me. I get the opposite here, much to my annoyance. I went out to lunch the other day with friends, showered, nice outfit, blow-dry, jewellery, new sandals...... and not a scrap of make up. What on earth? When I discovered this shocking omission in the restaurant cloakroom and, automatically, enquired of my lovely H 'what's the matter with your eyesight?' I was of course assured that I was so lovely, how could he be expected to know if I was made up or not!!!
Mmmm, corny, but clever! And difficult to argue, without being churlish - but I did feel an idiot.

Brook - hope you have a lovely time with your family, eating out and celebrating.....made up or not. Urms do hope that climbing the walls was a success and the littlies are undamaged and very happy with their experience.

Have the best weekend, everyone, and maybe some of that sunshine that was forecast, to restore some va va voom and positivity, if needed.

Thanks grandmaFrench for your kind thoughts. Ddog has regained his bounce. In eight years he has never refused toast and he did today. Plus v sleepy. Was awfully worried. He just trotted into the bedroom with That Look. I love him.
And I hope I have untwisted myself. Had horrible fright. Won't bang on as aware so many here have far greater health issues. Have taken more paracetamol and though leg stiffer I can bend etc. This was the only place I felt I could tell people.

SueD my daughter was 9lb, three hour labour, son one hour, at home, 7lb 2, a quite dramatic event, to be recounted another day, hope all is well with your family. ?

Imogen had her brain scan today, 23 electrodes? on her head, various tests, no physical reaction, we’ll await consultant in a couple of weeks.

No repercussions from yesterday’s flu jab, voltarol for MrJ’s back tonight, he’s working hard.

Oh Grandmajean . I discovered buggeration on GN and it's become my go to word now at home.
The compression bandage is now on MrM's leg Nannytopsy. He had a bad night with it. The pressure on the ulcer was very painful. In the end, he got up to sleep on the sofa with his foot elevated high. Much better today. His only worry is, he can't get his work boots or wellies on!

A bit like Susan who honestly admitted that she wasn't the sole vomit cleaner today....ah, bless....I admit that I am very good with names, but like that game when you memorise stuff on a tray and then have to remember which thing has been removed, I remember people's names but often forget an important one. That's so annoying. So, I often read through and make a note. (I still remember some shocked and scandalised comments on the GM thread at that!) Still that's what I do. You can't scroll up to check anything and unless I use another tablet or my phone, I often forget something important as well as losing the post, so then it's all a bit pot luck.

Brook so pleased you have posh hair! Urms is very useful, isn't she? Jax good news about Imogen and, for what it's worth, my Daughter was 6lbs 12oz - 22 hours - in a London teaching hospital; my Son, 9lbs - 13.5 hours - home birth.

Happy to hear that life is better in the Dogs household and that Blossoming is recovering. Poor Mr Muse, he's really going through it and he's such a patient patient. Happy plant hunting, muse.

You lovely lot (as Soop calls us) do make me roar with laughter. I often imagine all of us together in a room, tears rolling down our cheeks because we all have the gift of seeing how ridiculous life can be, how ridiculous we can be and taking the mickey out of ourselves because of that. That's a priceless gift, I think, and is a great way to bond with people. People laughing with you is wonderful. People laughing at you, not so much!!

I so enjoy everyone's posts. The Kitchen is about conversation, I feel, and is just what we need.
