Birth tales! It's like an online Tupperware party! Son was 6lb 2oz and took three hours from start to finish. Daughter was 7lb 4 oz and was nearly born in the toilet. Took a hour. The midwife said I wasn't nearly ready and insisted on giving me an enema. I crawled out of the loo on my knees as she was practically born on the floor. My H hadn't even had time to bring my case in from the car. See you tomorrow kitcheners.

Enjoy your holiday Doodle! We have decided to plan a ferry/drive to Spain and France for next year in the hope that things can go ahead. My DB has just done that to northern Spain and they were pleased that everyone is still wearing masks and using sanitiser. Not like here!
The cat has woken me up and I have to cuddle him quite firmly to stop him waking DH too. He likes company in the small hours.

Have a lovely holiday Doodle. I was rudely awoken at half seven by an Amazon delivery so I'm up and ready for second cup of coffee. Then heading to Stirling to sort out my son's flat. He left it in a state when he flew to London for work. He won't be back til the end of October so I'll do a spot of cleaning. That, and some food shopping and the rest of the day is mine own.

Hello and a good morning to all with coffee on the side and some apricot flapjack for nibbles. Yesterday we went out for lunch as it was DD’s birthday and we brought some home as it looked so yummy - as indeed it is!
I have had little opportunity to keep up with everyone and post so apologies for being awol!

My life currently is chaotic to say the least and this is truly a madhouse with furniture being moved from room to room as the men lift each floor in turn. I am longing for the music to stop! We can already detect a difference in the ambient temperature so that is really encouraging even though we are not yet half way through. We are moving DD back into her bedroom and bathroom and getting everything out of her sitting room and our spare room for the men coming back in on Monday. Our own bedroom has been done but to get into bed I have still been climbing over furniture from other rooms!
The plasterer is coming in on Monday to do the new extension.and disabled loo so that the (able bodied) steps and platform can be built next and the wheelchair lift can then be fitted once the floor goes down. Plasterer is also going to do the kitchen so that we can get the doors fitted. He will need to check one of the walls in the sitting room to see if the damp has dried out now that the cavity wall insulation has been (very noisily) sucked out after lots of horrendous drilling. I thought I might go mad with it all!. House is now covered in little bristles and looks very odd!
I am hoping that we can just get the damaged plaster in our sitting room hacked off and replastered and not need the wall strapped and boarded - and that is not just because it will be quicker and easier!
The electrician is coming in to fit lights and sockets all over the place and the plumber has to fit the disabled toilet in the extension so that the floors in the hallways can be lifted and we will have an alternative loo whilst the work in the house is done.
This is all supposedly going to happen this coming week! I wonder if it will really happen and if we will survive!!

I think I have told you everything now - it has been very therapeutic to reread and realise that I have a very valid reason for being as tired as I feel. What a blessing that everyone working here has been so good, kind and helpful!

At least it is happening at long last, we have had to wait so long for everything we were starting to wonder.
And then Himself went to be fitted for a new leg and the lass who did the casting got it completely wrong, no idea how or why, so nothing fitted and a recast had to be done. Such a long way to go and all for nothing so Himself was really down in the dumps. ? Just have to keep on keeping on don’t we.

Dear*Mr Soop* has had a night from HELL. We both have. He has obviously had a very nasty reaction to the double dose of vaccines. He stumbled into the bedroom very late last night, still dressed and not aware of where he was. Twice he fell on the floor and hauling him upright was a crazy operation. Neither of us slept. I was ready to call 111 and will do so if he doesn't continue to slowly but surely return to his normal self. He has slept ever since breakfast time. Is drinking water but no appetite thus far. He maintains that he is beginning to recover. I shall keep you updated.

synonomous that sounds horrendous, although it’s organised chaos, with a great outcome hopefully in sight, it must be so, so difficult to live with. Good afternoon everyone, after my abrupt departure yesterday I am now back on track.
I thought it was an expected visitor who actually never turned up but texted later with some sort of apology, this is the second time!!
My GD’s friend came round later and fetched us all fish and chips from the chippy and very good they were.

My friend across the road rang to suggest a couple of nights away as we did last month , as I have decorators in in a couple of weeks and she has commitments we have booked for the 1st of November going to Southport for two nights, I am looking forward already.

Then another friend texted to say would I like a trip to Dunelm on Sunday? You bet I do.

I have had a fruitful morning making a large pot of goulash, some for tomorrow and some for the freezer.

Synonymous what a time you are having, however if it makes life better for your DH and gives him some independence then it will be worth it.
You have all been through so much.
You deserve lots of happiness and contentment.

Soop I hope mr soop soon feels better, it is two weeks today since I had my flu jab and I had a reaction for the first time.
I haven’t been called for my Covid booster but I really am in no hurry.

A year ago today I was in hospital waiting for my hip replacement which eventually took place about 7pm,
What a success that has been, I am forever grateful for the skill of Surgeons.

Soop so sorry to hear about Mr. Soop's reaction to the double vaccination. Hoping he is alright now. I had my double vacc. yesterday and felt apprehensive about it. However I have felt fine since and slept well.
I was almost knocked down this afternoon by a boy riding a bike, very fast, on the wrong side of the road. I was crossing to the pedestrian island half way across, when the boy hurtled round the corner, almost falling off his bike as he skirted round me. I still feel shocked, mainly because the boy could have been hurt or worse.

How awful for you both Soop: I hope Mr. Soop is on the mend and you are both resting.

What bad luck for MacSporran having such a dreadful reaction. Hope he's more like himself now. I'm glad I had the two a couple of weeks apart and reacted to neither. The last time I reacted to a vaccination I was ten and missed out on seeing Peter Pan at the theatre in Glasgow!
Today is what I call a 'nothing' day - no sun, no wind, not very warm, not very cold and not even rain! The leaves are inexorably changing colour. My big red maple is brighter than it was a week ago and soon will be scarlet.

Oh dear soop I have just read your post regarding MacSporrans reaction to the booster vaccine, I sincerely hope he is in the mend, if not do not hesitate to call someone.

I spent this morning preparing 8lb of onions and tomatoes for my Christmas Chutney ready to cook off tomorrow, I am now lounging with iPad and due to having a 20% discount from M & S on certain lines have ordered some Christmas Gifts (I like to be organised with everything wrapped by end of November so that I can sit back and enjoy the lead up to the day)
