A very Happy Birthday to Charleygirl! ???
Great news, Ash. So pleased for olddudders.
The equinoctial storms are every year, Urms, except that they usually take place in October; some years they are worse than others. Good luck with tests and Bon voyage!
Does Charleygirl post here on Mick’s thread?
?
Thanks grandMattie! Good luck securing a GP appointment - rare as hen’s teeth in some parts I hear.
Morning all! Ash, thanks for sharing that bit of positive news on OD. Lovely. That's my first reason to smile today. You hoped for and created it. Well done and thanks. Keep it coming, please! I've a promisingly calm day ahead with a regular group for lunch. The weather is a bit dull up here in North by they certainly aren't. Oh yess..... Hope you all find a highlight, no matter how trivial, and build on it.
Good morning from sunny Colchester. Another nice day here.
We'll be sitting on the terrace of the Museum of the Year for our weekly Wednesday coffee meetup this morning.
Love to all ?x
Good morning from a cloudy but still warm Black Country.
My friend is taking me to lunch today for my birthday. Yesterday my other friend insisted on buying me cake in the cafe yesterday. I think I will have to re-start the gym next week!
Good news Ashcombe hopefully OD is on the road to recovery.
We should be sunning ourselves in Portugal now, oh well, hopefully next year. We did have a credit refund for flight, and we had never booked accommodation.
Wishing you all a lovely day.
Good morning from N Bucks where, as Ginny says it is looking bright - a lovely Autumnal day.
My tiny grandson is one week old today and I hope the family have recovered from his dramatic arrival into the world. At long last we have a name -Remy- which I rather like (and is less confusing than “BabyRosa” which is what Otis was calling him - even in these non-binary days)
Film studies this afternoon . Has anybody seen The Straight Story? It’s a charming very evocative story of an old man who undertakes a massive road trip on his ride-on lawnmower because he doesn’t have a driving licence. Some wonderful photography and music - and in case you think it far-fetched, a true story!
Wishing you all a pleasant and unstressful day with special thoughts for those in pain or sorrow
Morning all.
Awaiting the storms !
Lovely photos Gingster
Will be playing with my new toy today. Cordless vacuum !
Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton. I am up early, dressed and showered as the gasman is due this morning for a service of the boiler, gas fire etc. The first proper one since before lockdown. The cats will be curious and get in the way, but I have a cunning p!an to put them in their carrier baskets so they can supervise safely and not escape out of any open door or window. He is due any time between 8 and 1.
I also have my new lawn mower being delivered at some time today and Amazon have informed me that I need to be in to take delivery, as I have to give the man a delivery code, which they have yet to tell me. I am sure I shall have fun putting the mower together!
Oh dear grandMattie, gout is so painful. My late DH used to suffer terribly from it. He found that if he took a couple of Ibuprofen at the first twinge he was able to keep on top of it. Nothing else seemed to work, even the prescription from his GP.
I will go and sort some washing out to put in the machine, as it looks to be a good drying day. Then sit and read the paper while waiting for the gasman. And have another coffee!
Hoping today is a good one for all.
Good morning Mick, morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.
Beautiful photos Gingster. Mine was taken late yesterday afternoon on our nearest beach which is about 45 minutes away. We took a sudden notion to see the sea so following grandMattie’s advice to carpe diem that’s just what we did.
Today will be a little more mundane, food shopping needs to be done however I’m intending buying a couple of ready meals from M&S as there are days when I really cba to cook.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ??
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. We were relieved to find that, after the Monday blip with the oven, it was working okay yesterday. Lawn cutting, car washing and sundry domestic activities were the order of the day yesterday so today we are going out. Not sure where yet but lunch will be factored in (hopefully!). Have the best day you can, everyone.
Sorry to refer back to yesterday’s thread but I just wanted to thank a couple of posters.
JaxJacky thank you for the link yesterday. That organisation looks brilliant, sadly there doesn’t appear to be as anything similar in my area but I’m hoping he finds something.
brook DH has tried to volunteer with the local park group and took part in a litter pick but other than that he hasn’t been called on.
Good morning from a sunny New Forest. Hoping for a better day than yesterday as DH spent most of the morning prodding drain rods as we realised my friends cottage had a blocked drain.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning from NE Hampshire where it is a glorious autumnal, sunny day. Such good news Ash. Hope OD is on the way to being pain free permanently.
granMattie you are an inspiration. Remember to take care of yourself.
I’ve had 2 really good days. Things needed doing outside of my competence (which is pretty much everything nowadays!) and not only did the repairers turn up on time but everything was done to perfection. I’m feeling grateful for cheerful, polite and helpful young people.
Wishing everyone as good a day as possible ?
Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers Lancashire coast.
Off to a lunchtime recital in town today, first one in the flesh since lockdown. Guitar, not my number one for a classical recital, but it’s the going and seeing people which is a big part of the fun, I think I’ll go on the bus, free and don’t have to bother about parking.
Restless night though with restless legs, shooting pains, probably my statins. I felt something crawling around in my pyjamas and it was only a ladybird. The bedroom is ground floor level with window open for airing.
Sang at the music club yesterday and got mixed up with new song as only pulled it out of a hat (or YouTube) the day before. The music hall song went well though and I had a few props to go with it. Don’t know why I’m m so tired after it, it takes it out of me…
Take care and thoughts to grandMattie and harrigran.
It's dull in w/York's today Hope it picks up for my last wash before we go away .happy birthday charliegirl??.Have a good day all ?
Fabulous photo baubles ?
Good morning from a decidedly autumnal S Lanarkshire.
Lovely contrasting sea pictures Gingster and baubles, both reflective of the time of year.
Good news about your DH Ash, you’ll be breathing a little easier.
Hope you get some relief from your gout grandMattie, it’s ridiculous how hard it is to get to a doctor now.
I’ve been asked to hand in a weeks BP readings for which I have to buy a BP monitor. I don’t know what would have happened if I couldn’t afford it. I hope there’s a back up plan.
Exercise class and coffee today and later I’m staying over for the first time with my daughter who moved to the next village earlier in the year. There have been a series of things preventing this so we are both very excited!
Wishing everyone the best day possible ???
Morning from a dry but dull Scottish Borders. Sun peeking out occasionally. I hope your gout is sorted swiftly GrandMattie.I believe it horribly painful. You do not need this.
Lovely day with little one yesterday. Not much planned though about to phone customer services of a well known mail order company.
Elevenses at the right time today. I suspect digestives will be needed.
Good Morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey Carlisle.
I actually had a face to face with the GP yesterday concerning my constant headaches. I got a careful examination and an appointment for more blood tests. I am beginning to feel like Tony Hancock in the Blood Donor! They won't find anything wrong except for too much iron. These investigations necessarily proceed slowly but I don't feel there's a grave problem, I just don't want headaches every day.
I've had an early delivery today which has meant another something to put together and more cardboard. Every fortnight there is a pile of cardboard for the recyclers to take away. They just have and now there's more for the next time.
grandMattie, my DH and one of his friends used to consume sour cherries, juice and/or fruit, to successfully combat gout. There are health food emporia online where you can get the juice though it's not cheap. It's worth checking the Polish section in the supermarket for the canned fruit.
It's a catching up with housework day for me. I've been too busy being out and about to do the usual.
A positive day to all, hopefully.
Good morning Mick and all. A cloudy grey morning here in Lancashire. Temperature currently 16°C.
Not much planned for today, my balance is playing up so will stay indoors. My delivery of silver split rings arrived yesterday so am starting a new project, still at the planning stage.
Welcome to any new posters. Best wishes to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs to anybody suffering. Wishing a safe journey to anybody traveling.
GrandMattie I hope you can get some relief from your gout, it’s a very painful condition. Ekwanimitee hope the investigations can get to the bottom of the daily headaches.
Have the best day possible ???
* baubles * do you have a mens shed in your area? Not volunteering as such but somewhere he can go and be with like minded folk and ours does a lot of community projects.
Good morning everyone, sunny and blowy out ! Ideal for drying washing
First load hung out , then a certain rural whiff was blown in my direction ? , I just hope for a change in wind direction ! Second load is whirling round the washing machine
