Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry outside this morning in brackley , today for me usual bus trip to Bicester, late morning .
In general a quiet day as I await the weekend and another coach trip this Saturday .
It will be interesting to whether more people are starting to take trips out.
I had noticed the ones I use on there Facebook page , trips to the seaside seemed popular with many .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from a blustery and fairly cold start to the day here on the east coast of Fife.

That’s me started on the red vino last thing at night as long as I’m in bed. I can’t risk drinking it while on my pins I might get a wee bit wobbly even with only one wee toot.

I’m not really much of a drinker she sayswink at least not since the dreaded stroke. Having wrongly being diagnosed with epilepsy I’ve been too afraid to drink too much only one little glass sets me off into no mans land.

Thinking of all in bereavement may your memories hold you in good stead. Have a lovely Thursday and be kind to yourselves. flowers

Morning from the edge of S Lanarkshire, a mile up the road from DD’s and you’re in Peeblesshire. This is a lovely part of the world but right now it’s damp and murky.

They are renting here but have put in an offer on a house they would love and a price they can afford so I have fingers and toes crossed for them, any good luck vibes are welcome!
DD has just dropped their beloved dog off at the vets for a scan.
He isn’t very well and they are devoted to him and we’re going to head out for a walk shortly which will help pass the time for her.

Glad things seem to be a little brighter for everyone this morning and I wish you all a good day. ???

Good morning everyone from sunny Malaga on our penultimate day here. The washer is on and I’m on my third cuppa, sat on the balcony now tapping this missive.

Himself filled out our locator forms on his smartphone last night (clever divil!) but he is going out later to the Internet cafe to have everything printed off. Belt & braces approach for the airport tomorrow as 2 people we know (separate flights) were refused access to board at Malaga as although all their information was on the iPhone, a signal couldn’t be raised at the boarding gate! The little wheel of misfortune just keep turning, turning... aargh! The (un)helpful lady on the desk just shrugged when information couldn’t be displayed as said ‘not my problem’. One had screen-shotted his important details necessary for boarding but in his case, the desk wanted to see all 5 pages of his locator form and he’d only screenshotted the first page so he was refused remission to board as there was no signal for his phone to pull the rest up. And your rapid antigen test is only valid for 72 hours.

We decided all this malarkey is too stressful to rely on technology alone, hence paper copies as backup!

Have a good day all who can. x

So ‘bread’ and wine whilst you discuss ‘The Testaments’ eh Gingster? Very appropriate. I loved that slim novel by the way - thought it was a well deserved prize winner. Good job we’re all different though - it makes for a better book discussion.

Positive vinbes from me for your daughter’s proposed house buying Stilllearning!

Good morning Mick and everyone from a grey Carlisle.
I’m shortly off to the hairdressers’ and have been dithering over what to wear. My app says no rain due, the sky is looking otherwise plus I am reluctant to shed my summery wear and concede that it’s really autumnal now. Well, I’m down in the light summer gear so fingers crossed!
A pleasant, and sunny, day to all..

Good morning from a very windy Durham. My garden is ankle deep in dead sycamore leaves from next door’s tree - so raking them up is my first job. Had a lovely day in Harrogate yesterday - thought I’d pop down for a coffee, but the queue for Betty’s was immense,
so I went elsewhere.
Good to hear things are picking up for some GNs, but thinking of those struggling with health and heartache. X

Good morning Mick and all from a changeable Suet on Sea on the Lancashire coast.
Funeral of friend’s husband this afternoon and my DD arrived from the south late last night as her daughter is a longtime friend. We will go together but DD has to leave immediately after as has a flight (cabin crew) to get back to. Not sure how she manages all this travelling and has just moved into a new flat. Regardless, she has still taken herself off for a morning run as I mooch about contemplating a shower…
Lunchtime recital ok, but all the guitar pieces seemed the same and ran into each other. Three female composers were figured.
I felt the season could have started with more of an oomph. Good to see people again though. Mobile phones went off on three occasions during the recital, which was being videotaped.
I then took in a little exhibition at our local arts centre and some steep prices for various nondescript works.
Hardly bother cooking these days for myself so the meatballs I cooked for my daughter came out overcooked like cannonballs.
Thoughts to those with worries.

Good morning from a dull, drizzly and windy Scottish Borders. Wasn't expecting this and has thwarted my plans to go for short walk. Ridiculously precious about falling over. Drizzle probably has no relevance.
I have heard nothing from my mother's nursing home and I assuming the no news is good stance.
Have made bread and announced to DH we are not buying any more food until we have used up everything in the fridge. I am ashamed to say I have been throwing away food which I have forgotten about. Thinking of those who have a difficult day ahead. Best wishes to all.

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders (I'm really a mile on the Edinburgh side of the Borders Region but feel like a Borderer)
It is very windy and quite cold.
I'm struggling with making a poster on the computer. Is there any online help for this?

It's for the open studios this weekend and next. No doubt the prices will be rather high for nondescript pieces hollysteers grin but it will be fun to see people and admire each-others efforts

I am glad grandMattie that some things have worked out well in the house dept at least.
I am sorry you have even more worries Harrigran

I miss our absent posters too.

Good Morning from cloudy Harrogate
Today I am manning, or womanning, a mini art exhibition in the library!
I gather my daughter was on the radio this morning, but i couldn't find the station, so hope she has recorded it, we don't have radios in the house any more, generally find them on-line.
This evening's exciting biting? I'm having a mole thing removed from my face
I have to struggle at some time to set up a new landline phone described as easy set up!! All it would do last night is complain I had no messages!!! That's for when I get back from the library!
Good luck with your dishwasher Grandmattie I love my new one
Have a good day folks!

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Sun’s up in South Yorkshire. We went out to the Peak District yesterday for a walk and lunch - not very long, but a favourite route with lovely views and a nice pub half way round. Not much planned for today except that we are picking up GS from track training this evening, giving him supper and then taking him home as his parents are having a well earned night out.
Hope everyone has some sunshine in their day.

Blossoming Thu 23-Sept-21 10:06:56

Good morning Mick and all. It’s been raining here in Lancashire, showing no sign of brightening up. Temperature currently 15°C.

Another day of not much planned other than housework.

Welcome to any new posters. Best wishes to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs to anybody suffering. Wishing a safe journey to anybody traveling.

Have the best day possible ???

Auntieflo Thu 23-Sept-21 10:22:05

Good morning Mick, Annie, Marydoll and all.
The pigeons are being evicted this morning, and there is lots if scraping noises, coming from the roof. We will be so glad to see the back of them, messy creatures.
Yesterday I cut my finger, while using the mandoline, and have bled profusely, being on blood thinners doesn't help. This morning it was very ouchy when changing the dressing, but, fingers crossed, the dressing is still clean and dry, so far.
This afternoon I have a CT scan booked, so that's my afternoon sorted.
We must ring the boiler man and book a service. Yesterday we had no hot water, but it was just low pressure, and soon fixed. Today there seems to be no heat to the radiators, after checking them. I will go round and bleed the radiators and see if that does any good.
GrandMattie, you are being amazing, hugs to you.
Have a good day one and all.
