I also enjoy my time spent reading - makes me feel so fulfilled and then marking my books as read on Goodreads..

Enjoy watching my house plants grow and develop, every new leaf makes me happy..

Smell of lavender spray on my pillow before going to bed..

Manuka Honey night cream feel on my skin.

My morning coffee, the washer/dryer taking care of the laundry in this weather, putting the heating on if I’m cold. Bliss!

Lots of things, sunshine,clean bed linen,hot buttered toast.

So sorry grandtante but what a lovely story and how pleased and proud he must have felt to have a collar.
My little things are how gently my big (outwardly) fierce dog takes a titbit from my hand with her lovely soft, warm mouth, watching her enjoy her food, watching bulbs and plants come back through the ground, watching the seasons change and watching and listening to all the birds in my garden.

Recently DGS was found to need glasses. His parents and teachers were trying to be do tactful etc but lo and behold the wee boy was absolutely thrilled to have glasses - they're cool apparently!

I put a collar with our address and telephone number on our little stray cat, quite expecting him to do his level best to take it off and probably succeeding.

That is after all normal cat behaviour when you insist on something as daft as a collar.

He lay down and purred, absolutely thrilled by his collar and wore it proudly for the rest of his life, which unfortunately was not long, but that had nothing to do with the collar.

Opening a new book….all that unknown enjoyment. And with it a perfect cup of ( loose-leaf) tea in a bone China cup bought years ago as I “ exited through the gift shop” at Hever castle!

The past year and a bit has certainly made me appreciate the little things. Popping into the library for a browse without having to book an appointment first cheered me up today.

I love rose handcream or rose anything really, usually by BodyShop and their soap. But have just orderd the one mentioned on Amazon a tad pricy but worth it if the smell is good and lasts

I've just come in and had a wonderful welcome from one of our Maine Coons. He inserted himself like a furry purring jelly on to my knee from the sofa. It felt like he'd really missed me. It was a lovely feeling. Now he's snoring loudly - not so good!
Another little thing is having a good programme recorded to look forward to.

The little things:

DH making tea in bed for us every morning.

The beautiful brown eyes of our dog saying 'Good Morning, where's my biscuit?'

The sheep in the field opposite our house, it reminds me how different and better life here is to London and how lucky we are.

Our Virginia Creeper, which has now turned bright red, glowing like it's on fire in the morning sun.

The smell of coffee brewing.

The smell of the sea and the wind in my hair.

The first bulbs popping up each Spring.

My little fig tree which I always water all year round, it has just got its leaves after our winter. I planted it about 3 years ago, it is still a baby. The currawong who visits everyday and comes when I call him. Coffee, freshly brewed and drunk outside in the sun. I like to sew in the evenings and watch whatever I’m making take shape.

Just sitting on a bench having a coffee outdoors with a lovely lake to watch the swans and other birds. Lovely Autumnal scents and temperature that even the rain couldn't dampen.

I love the little things, like finding a good book in the library;
enjoying a new series on tv; going for a walk in the country and finding a rare wild-flower or spotting an unusual bird.
And yes, a lovely new hand-cream too.

My new secateurs came yesterday and I'm so pleased with them. I've always found those I've bought hard to open and hard to use. These were labelled 'ladies' secateurs and, apart from being pink they come in two sizes 6'' and 7'', feel comfortable to use and are easy to open. Had to rush out and do a bit of pruning. Happy bunny.

If the house is quiet and I can hear a barge put-putting along the canal at the back of the house, I run upstairs to the bedroom where I can watch it go by. It brightens my day.

I forced myself to go fora walk on the rain this morning but it cheered me up a lot. The sound of rain pattering through the trees, the dried up stream gurgling away again and the lovely smells of autumn foliage.

Literally little things - I have a couple of dolls houses and from time to time treat myself/the small occupants to new bits for the houses, so yes I enjoy little things!
And for non material enjoyment, lots of little treats from walking in the woods near our caravan site: all the beautiful things nature has to offer.
Sitting in my garden on Sunday after a run out on my motorbike, then enjoying the sun in the garden before the bad weather arrived, including a visit from the neighbourhood squirrel, even if he did squeak loudly at me because I was between him and the bird feeder which he was about to raid!

I have 3 cats but the Maine Coon, whilst affectionate, will rarely sit on your lap. She'll sit beside me on the arm of the chair and lie next to me in bed but when she does choose to sit on me, it really makes me feel happy...I don't know why it should make such a difference but it does!

I ordered some Rose hand cream and two other items, I love Rose perfume.. usually not much good , so thank you for this.. I will have some lovely moments.
