What was the make Aveline ?
I too love the smell of roses and once Winter is here I will also be slathering on hand cream, and am always on the lookout for a genuine rose scented one.

You are right about how the little things can make such a difference to our day.

It was pouring with rain earlier here in Berkshire, along with strong winds, but it’s now beautiful and sunny so my washing is blowing happily on the line.

I think they’re a very good company - I bought some Bath oil and Hand cream in lockdown and they’ve lasted very well. I love the smell of oranges and lemons abroad, so I bought the Verbena one. It’s lovely!

This one is nice too, if not a little pricey

I didn't mean this thread to be all about hand cream! I wondered if others had little things that cheered them up.
DH was very cheered this morning when 'my' cat actually came up to greet him and accept a pat. He'd always avoided DH before for some reason.
( BTW Lizzie72 I love verbena too. Think I'll check out their shower gel)

It’s often little things in the garden that cheer me up - the first rose appearing, bulbs peeping through, leaves changing colour on the trees, etc. And then after gardening, a soak in verbena bath oil

I have found enjoyment by designing artwork and then getting a one-off greetings card made of it and sent to me, and then I frame it in a frame delivered by Tesco with the grocery.

The greetings card facility is advertised as using a photo and as it being to send to someone else. But there is the option to "send it to me first" and the system does not actually print from a photo as such but from a jpg file of a photo, so as long as one uses a jpg file with the artwork image in it, it works well.

The people on the chat line advised me how to set it up, so they are not bothered that it is not actully a photo. Basically, as long as the image is legal and not improper they will print what you want printed. So I don't have to convince anybody that my artwork is worth printing.

I have got two such framed images on walls in my house, landscape format, oak effect frames.

Under £8 outlay for the card, its postage to me, and the frame from the supermarket, and the frame is with the grocery so no extra delivery charge for the frame.

Just to point out, Papier also does some cards with a preset picture and the purchaser just alters the text inside.

Then some put a custom photo within some preset decoration.

The ones I use, one portrait orientation, one landscape orientation, are full field custom photo so what i get is totally what I have designed.

Where the greeting goes inside I put a title, a description, my name and the date. Once framed that is all hidden from view, but it is there for provenance.

I like that our female feminist dog ignores all the men in our family but does whatever I ask her to. She likes to particularly ignore my husband and you should see her stubborn little face whilst she winds him up. It is classic

In my campaign to reduce plastic in the bathroom I ordered some deodorant from a company that sells just such products. This is a cream in a tin. It smells beautifully fresh and lemony but doesn't sting if you've just shaved your armpits. I'm not sure it is available in the UK, but I expect there are just as good ones available there.

In fact I find the fragrances different and homelier for such products in the UK. When I frequently visited my mother I bought all my stuff in Boots and kept it in the room I always stayed in.

My wood splitter arrived yesterday...cheered me up no end. I enjoyed splitting a few logs into four. Loads to do. Yes the little things.

I got my hands on some proper Irish turf.
I cannot wait to light a fire and enjoy the wonderful smell.

I ordered some Rose hand cream and two other items, I love Rose perfume.. usually not much good , so thank you for this.. I will have some lovely moments.

I have 3 cats but the Maine Coon, whilst affectionate, will rarely sit on your lap. She'll sit beside me on the arm of the chair and lie next to me in bed but when she does choose to sit on me, it really makes me feel happy...I don't know why it should make such a difference but it does!

Literally little things - I have a couple of dolls houses and from time to time treat myself/the small occupants to new bits for the houses, so yes I enjoy little things!
And for non material enjoyment, lots of little treats from walking in the woods near our caravan site: all the beautiful things nature has to offer.
Sitting in my garden on Sunday after a run out on my motorbike, then enjoying the sun in the garden before the bad weather arrived, including a visit from the neighbourhood squirrel, even if he did squeak loudly at me because I was between him and the bird feeder which he was about to raid!

I forced myself to go fora walk on the rain this morning but it cheered me up a lot. The sound of rain pattering through the trees, the dried up stream gurgling away again and the lovely smells of autumn foliage.
