Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dry start here in Brackley this morning , plans for the day a small shop to buy flowers for the family graves ,which I will do today.
Yesterdays bus trip out saw hold ups due to motorists queing in numbers at petrol stations , in away it blocked other road users such as buses from operating to time schedule .
Why al the panic , mind you a large price increase could cause more .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a brightish Sarthe.

Thoughts are with both harrigran and grandMattie. Family support is so welcome at such times.

Today, I’ll start packing for home, besides printing off all the necessary paperwork to be allowed back into the UK. (Passenger locator form, vaccination certificate and proof of negative test) Quite a palaver!

Wishing you as good a day as possible. ?????

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it looks a little grey out there ☔️
Nanna duties yesterday was different as DGS is on holiday with his other GM so I just had the baby to myself. She is so much better after her bout of Viral Bronchitis and was like a different baby❤️
I want to ask my GN friends if they know of anyone who could make use of a manual breast pump and some Medela bottles and Calma teats. We bought them on holiday and never used them but charities won’t take them as some bits have been opened. There is nearly £100 worth and I am pained to just throw them away. Maybe a new mum who has financial worries would appreciate them. I will pop them on FB but someone will get them and then I will see them for sale like I have in the past!!
Off to the factory today and then off to a council meeting tonight as I am spokesperson for our housing estate against the Management Company. We are all owners with freehold land but seem to be fleeced with service charges for work that isn’t being done, I am of good voice to speak for my neighbours?
Have a good day folks ??

Jaxjacky Wed 29-Sept-21 08:02:52

Sorry to hear harrigran I hope you get the support you both need, ?.

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 29-Sept-21 08:03:47

Oops it went too quick
Supposed to have a telephone appointment at 11am and DH
has a live appointment at 11.45 he wants me to go with him to. It will take about 30 mins to get there!!!! Then we must go to Morrisons to get things that Sainsburies don’t have.
I’ll have to find my winter duvet and probably get my winter clothes out pretty soon, or freeze
A very difficult job grandmattie clearing the house of a lived one

Have as good a day as you can folks.

Beechnut Wed 29-Sept-21 08:04:10

Good Morning everyone from a very bright Severnside. What a downpour yesterday afternoon. I was thankful to have put the cushions under cover. I’ll put the brolly away today when it’s dry.

Perhaps you could get one of those brolly hats cornergran. I’ve some phone calls to make this morning, will most probably be on hold for a while so not looking forward to making them. Out into the garden later.

Bye until tomorrow and thinking of harrigran and Matttie ?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 29-Sept-21 08:06:30

Morning Mick and all

Blue sky and sun shining here in S E Essex. The cleaning fairies are coming this morning, I am going to the gym and then I might look at the ironing mountain??

Pleased the Covid tests are coming back negative, grandMattie you need someone to spoil you ????

Thinking of our missing morning friends ?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Good morning from a brightish looking Essex.

Yesterday I had my yearly eye test. I have to get in touch with the hospital to have another glaucoma test as my peripheral vision isn’t what it should be. I was in the opticians for almost two hours. Shattered when I came out and couldn’t be bothered to wander around the shops, so straight home for a much needed coffee. ☕️.

Today I have my old work pal coming for lunch. We met over 50 years ago while working in london, as teenagers. We haven’t seen each other for two years so it will be lovely to see her. DH is hoping to go fishing so we can have peace while he’s out.

Conservatory roof leaked again in the downpour last night. We had it re sealed about 2 months ago. ?

grandMattie and Harrigran - my thoughts will be with you today. ??. What tough times you are both going through ❤️

Wishing those with troubles a better day today.
?

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 29-Sept-21 08:12:03

Sunny and bright here in Oxfordshire but quite chilly. Up all night again with DD, poor thing is still so poorly, but there you go, i can at least get some sleep whilst DH sits with her later.
My heart goes out to you grandmattie and Harrigran
Hugs for all of those with cares and worries.

Good morning Mick and all from a bright for the moment Lancashire coast.
Lunchtime piano recital in town today so looking forward to that. Will take the bus. I have a tank full from before the problems, but take the bus on a Wednesday anyway. Will wrap up more today.
Enjoyed music club yesterday apart from one know all (there’s always one) but I ended up singing a couple of songs with him playing the guitar. I’m always tired after these sessions plus food shopping and had an early night after dropping off to sleep in front of the tv.
?harrigran and grandMattie.

NannyJan53 Wed 29-Sept-21 08:32:28

Dragonfly glad the antibiotics seem to be working for you.

harrigran loving thoughts to you and your DH flowers

LadyGaGa Wed 29-Sept-21 08:34:03

Morning all
Dry but dull in Derby. Saw Typical Girls at the Crucible last night. It was very good - had a great night. But still in bed so need to get a wriggle on. Coffee with friends at half ten and phone calls to make!
harrigran and grandMattie thanks

Oldbutstilluseful Wed 29-Sept-21 08:34:04

Good morning from NE Hampshire.
A friend and I had a lovely walk yesterday. We were so lucky, missed all the showers and enjoyed some beautiful sunshine. Managed to resist buying more ‘stuff’ when we popped into a garden centre for coffee.
Harrigran as always I’m thinking of you and hope you can find time for a rest today. granMattie take care of yourself, you are simply amazing.
Wishing you all as good a day as possible ???

Anniebach Wed 29-Sept-21 08:37:15

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Gelisajams Wed 29-Sept-21 08:40:44

Good morning from a wet Morecambe Bay. The excitement for today is a flu jab this morning.
I shall heat the car up before I get in it. For those following my electric car decision I’m loving it! It really is at least state of the art and even futuristic but easy to understand and a dream to drive. It’s a bit noisy with warning beeps but these can be switched off if necessary. Our night time charging rate is up and running too.
Special thoughts to Harrigran this morning ?
Everyone else, take care and stay safe ?

Susan56 Wed 29-Sept-21 08:41:59

harrigran?glad that you will have family support and that the consultant is arranging extra nursing care for you.Our thoughts are with you, your dear husband and your family.

Grammaretto Wed 29-Sept-21 08:55:36

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders. Bright and sunny but a chilly 6°C .
Harrigran I am so glad your DD will be joining you. Our DS flew here from NZ for DH's last weeks and that was such a comfort and a big help. Thinking of you.

Also brave Mattie and Oopsadaisy flowers

I also miss Marydoll and Bellasnana

I wrote to the bus company to beg them to return a much missed bus service and had a phone call from Chris at customer services.
He was not reassuring at all and at one point told me that most of the folk who stay at the bottom of the steep hill have cars! On another service he said there was no demand.

How will I stir up trouble today?

Greyduster Wed 29-Sept-21 08:59:52

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Sun today after torrential rain yesterday afternoon and evening, but my goodness it’s chilly! Not sure how long it will keep us company. Not a lot planned for today; a visit to the butcher, and then maybe a stroll in the park. DH is on antibiotics for a chest infection so we won’t be going very far or very fast.
Kind thoughts to all who are struggling?

TopsyIrene06 Wed 29-Sept-21 09:00:26

Very much in my thoughts Harrigran. Stay strong if you can dear.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 29-Sept-21 09:36:33

Grammaretto I wonder if making your local council aware of the bus situation would make any difference?
It has where I live. We haven’t got the full service back but they run on a couple of days a week. At least it makes a difference. It’s worth a try perhaps.

Mapleleaf Wed 29-Sept-21 09:53:59

Good morning all,

As Greyduster says, it’s a bright, sunny morning but chilly. I think it’s a short respite before the rain returns tomorrow.

? for Harrigran and grandMattie.

Not a lot planned for today other than see if I can get some petrol as the gauge is showing low.

EkwaNimitee Wed 29-Sept-21 09:58:33

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle where it was 9C when I came down. The upstairs CH, set to a lower temperature, had come on. Still a nip in the air when I went outside a moment ago.
Yesterday I went into town in the pouring rain for some blood sampling. The nurse had a little trouble getting blood out of one arm so successfully did the other. Result was I left feeling a bit wobbly and I thought I'd become blasé about the procedure! Still, I managed to go round Asda and treat myself to some cakerie on the excuse that it was needed as a restorative.
Today I've already done the ironing and I think it's time to put the light summer clothing away as a holiday somewhere warm is not on the horizon. I also have a small piece of furniture to put together. It may be small but looks more complicated as it involves a drawer.
harrigran and grandMattie, my thoughts are with you in these tough times you are both having.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 29-Sept-21 10:00:15

harrigran it’s reassuring to hear that you have more support arriving, I do hope that your DH is pain free.

Sar53 Wed 29-Sept-21 10:33:43

A late good morning from me now back home in Essex by the sea.
A long journey yesterday, I got on the train in Leamington at 10.23 and walked indoors about 13.45. It included a cab ride across London which cost an arm and a leg but I just couldn't face the tube journey and all that entails.
This morning I've ironed and cleaned and washed.
My thoughts are with Harrigran and GM today, love to you both .
The sun is shining here, I hope you all have some sun where you are. Have the best day possible xxx

Stilllearning Wed 29-Sept-21 10:39:55

A later good morning from S Lanarkshire, lovely bright sky but very chilly.

I was at mass earlier and remembered you both harrigran and grandMattie.

I also ‘handed in my notice’ to our choir mistress before rehearsals start again on Thursday evening. I didn’t express myself very well so next task is to write her a little note.
I have really enjoyed being part of the choir for many years but the combination of circumstances just now make it the time to go.

Exercise class today, coffee and catch up, then dentist to round off the day!
Good wishes to all ???

joyce6135 Wed 29-Sept-21 10:40:26

Morning all from East Northants. Haven’t posted lately as have felt quite down, but have kept reading your posts which make me realise I haven’t much to feel down about! Saw the trailer on tv to the new Bond film which looks good, and had to admire the Duchess of Cambridge on her stunning outfit!
May venture out today as no rain forecast, I’m becoming a bit of a recluse and that’s not good. Have a good day everyone, will go back now and read today’s posts. Still missing*Marydoll*.
