Good Morning Everyone,
I woke up earlier than planned so did my usual routine etc, anyway the day at the moment looks dry here in Brackley this morning.
Myself , I intend to Bus to Buckingham and then Bicester vice versa , before returning home to watch the womens cycle race under the Paris -Roubaix banner , which sees then riding this event for the first time over the cobbles of North East France .
Hopefully a Chinese Take Away alter .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick - you are very early today!
It’s still dark here too and quite fresh, very Autumnal.
I wish I could say I have plans for today but it will depend on the weather, it may be the garden for a tidy up or it may be a good book! Whichever it is, I wish you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans.

BigBertha1 Sat 02-Oct-21 06:16:27

Good morning. Still dark here in Cheshire. We are going to our first concert since before the start of the pandemic which is exciting I think. Not sure whether to wear a mask or not...any thoughts please?

grandMattie Sat 02-Oct-21 06:26:20

Good morning from a grey, dark E Kent. We are forecast a lot of wind and rain today,
I had my lovely massage yesterday, with what seemed to be 1/2 pint of coconut oil. It left my very dry skin extremely moisturised and supple. It was so relaxing.
Plugging on today, letting people know the livestream hyperlink for Philip’s funeral next week. That last, very hard hurdle.
It is Iris’s 9th birthday today. We shall no doubt be Skyping at some stage.
Have a gentle day everyone with worries and sorrow. Carpe diem. ???????

Good morning from a darl Leicestershire.

The Nordic walk went well yesterday, I am managing to keep up with the speed of it.
Flu jab early this morning.

I still wear a mask BigBertha. I somehow feel safer.

Wishing everyone a pleasant day and thoughts with those who are struggling.

Morning Mick and All.

I think it’s the calm before the storm here in South Bucks.

We went to our first Amateur Dramatics last night BigBerthal. Instead of rows of seats there were small tables dotted around with space in between. DH wore his mask the whole time, I didn’t. It was wonderful to be back at the Village Hall enjoying excellent acting and feeling some normality is returning. On Sunday we are going to a theatre for a concert. I will definitely wear a mask there.

I’m glad your massage was so successful grandMattie. Happy 9th to your lovely Iris. ?

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Suffolk is dry and bright so far, so I shall try to do some more in the garden. Plenty of rain forecast later.

After a week of early starts for the painter, we had promised ourselves a lie in but the battery in the smoke alarm failed at 5am. ? They are always a fight to open so we didn’t get up to change it and it’s still cheeping away.

I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Beechnut Sat 02-Oct-21 07:28:54

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s dry with a red eastern sky where the sun is rising. Looks hopeful for a nice day.

I walked into Asda yesterday completely forgetting to put on my mask even though it was hanging around my neck. I’d been in store for about five minutes before I realised.

I’ve made an appointment for my annual review at the surgery and cheekily asked if I could make my flu jab appointment instead of ringing the dedicated number at the same time.

I the next few days I hope to settle into some card making as I’ve a few birthdays and other occasions coming up.

Have the best day you can all ?

Sar53 Sat 02-Oct-21 07:31:13

Good morning from a bright so far Essex by the sea. I think rain is forecast for later.
We are searching for a new duvet this morning, no other plans.
Have a pleasant day everyone xx

Gelisajams Sat 02-Oct-21 07:32:46

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it’s still wild wet and windy. What a week of bad weather we’ve had and more is forecast. My poor gardens are getting very neglected.
Can I thank a couple of posters for giving me the push to get my tic bite checked out. The nurse isn’t sure it’s a Lyme tic bite so we are just watching to see how it develops. The antibiotics are on standby.
Another lazy day planned for today. I have started to join my crochet octagons together so the end is in sight for the blanket I’ve been doing for what seems like forever. I’ll make a bit more progress with that.
A chat with my friend in Somerset first at 8:30 though.
? for the many posters struggling one way or another. Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Good morning. It is dull but dry here and the wind has dropped.

We were expecting a busy day with DGS2 after a sleepover but plans have had to be changed to another weekend.

If the rain keeps away we will probably have a wander around a local food and drink fair. Hopefully find some lunch there too. Otherwise we will see what turns up.

Wishing you all a smile in your day.

Susan56 Sat 02-Oct-21 07:47:15

Good morning from Shropshire where it’s wet and windy too Gelisa.

Beginning to feel better today thank goodness?

Miss M stayed over last night so DD and H will come over later to collect her.

Happy 9th birthday to Iris??

Such a difficult time for you mattie. You have shown such strength and dignity?

Have the best day you can all???

Grandmajean Sat 02-Oct-21 07:48:14

Morning all from Cheshire.
Still darkish and gloomy.
Not much happening here for me but DH is taking DGS to a local football match this afternoon. May well see youngest DGD later as her ballet class is in our village and it is DS' turn to bring her.
Happy birthday to Iris GrandMattie

monk08 Sat 02-Oct-21 07:48:17

Glad your massage relaxed you grandMattie and birthday wishes to Iris

brook2704 Sat 02-Oct-21 07:49:29

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and dry just now but rain forecast for later.
DD2 and family are away this weekend, they’ve taken the very excited DGC to the Harry Potter studio tour just outside London so it’s a quiet Saturday for us. Think I’ll pop into town for a browse around the shops and a walk by the river if the weather isn’t too bad.
Pleased you got to see the nurse Gelisa hopefully it’s something and nothing
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

brook2704 Sat 02-Oct-21 07:51:20

Oooh forgot to wish Iris a very Happy 9th Birthday! ????

harrigran Sat 02-Oct-21 07:53:43

Good morning from a dry and cool NE.
Woken up by two delivery wagons in the street, one of them was a massive builder's merchants lorry, backwards and forwards they went trying to manoeuvre round each other. Who accepts delivery slots of 6.45am ?
Consultant had requested a GP visit DH to assess his condition, yesterday afternoon a nurse practitioner arrived, I would like to know where our doctors are hiding.
Our car is sitting on the drive but the key has gone missing, I have tried everywhere I can think of with no success. The last person who drove the car was my BIL but he says he gave the key to DH.
Had to ring the pharmacy again about drugs not delivered, didn't know they were supposed to, it is only three days since we had the discussion and she promised to ensure they would be delivered. I am ashamed to say I lost my cool and asked her what part of terminally ill and bedbound did she not understand. The man who delivered the drugs is a real charmer, a cross between a slapped backside and a bulldog chewing a wasp ?
Must get on, a lot to do before the nurse visits.
Enjoy your weekend.

Urmstongran Sat 02-Oct-21 07:57:25

Good morning everyone from South Manchester. It’s light now. Damp but mostly dry but rain forecast for later. When it is not?

The Boy Wonder was picked at trials for his school cross country team and there’s an inter-school top juniors competition starting at noon. He’s really looking forward to doing one! Brr.

Later the 7 of us have a table reservation at the wine bar downstairs to enjoy drinks (and cake for the children) to celebrate their grandpa’s and great-grandpa’s birthday yesterday. Afterwards the little family will go to their home for ‘film night’ and we 3 will come up here to eat. I will make my SOAP dish this morning so it will only need heating up at 6pm when we get in. Easio.
?

I only wear a mask if I’m required to do so nowadays BigBertha which means not once in the week we’ve been home & we’ve been in wine bars, a restaurant, supermarkets, Boots & M&S!

Good Morning everyone from the Scottish Borders. Chilly but dry and still.
Open studious/arts trail again today - the final weekend. I enjoy chatting to people and selling things but I'll also be glad when it's over.
I had a lovely time away at DD's seeing the bairns despite the rain. Schiehallion should have looked like the picture but was invisible behind cloud.

I stupidly left my case on the first train when I changed trains at Perth on the home stretch so had to go to Glasgow and back to retrieve it. the bag wasn't allowed to travel by itself I was given a free ticket and lost property phoned me back! There are some kind people in the world.

The trains were busy and everyone wore masks.

Good morning and it’s very still here in Essex. The calm before the storm, me thinks!

After the torrential start yesterday, we managed to sit out on the pub patio for our lunch with friends. The sun even came out for a while.

Today I’ll be cooking and baking as we have most of the family coming tomorrow. Only 10 of us for lunch - it’s usually 15. It will be all the usual favourites. I said to dh ‘shall I do something different?’ He said ‘no , stick to what they like’ . ?.

Iris - have a very happy birthday. ?

Urms - enjoy the birthday celebrations with the grandpas. ?

Harrigran - I loved your description of the prescription delivery man. Made me smile.
Hope your day is calm. ?

I’m looking forward to Wednesday GG and Sar. ?.

Keep dry and warm everyone, and enjoy the weekend . ????

baubles Sat 02-Oct-21 08:29:44

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire. The weather veers between torrential rain and bright sunshine within each hour just now it seems.

Glad you found the massage relaxing gMattie, happy birthday to Iris.

You don’t need all these extra annoyances Harri, hope the key turns up.

We are childminding again this afternoon as DD is away for the weekend which clashes with other family events. Yesterday SiL had a golf competition and today he and eldest GD are going to watch their rugby team play. The same GD is in her school ski team which yesterday took part in a schools competition, apparently she did well, had a couple of really good runs and was happy with her performance. I was pleased for her as she’s dyslexic and sometimes struggles a bit with school work.

We will have fun with the other three this afternoon.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day today. ??

Good morning from sunny Colchester. The heating has kicked on and there was condensation inside the bedroom window, so it must've been cold last night. Rain due later.
We need to walk to the shops for groceries as we're out of petrol and may start on preparation for decorating the kitchen. The whole house needs doing and bad weather is the perfect time to start.
I must hunt out my poppy mask as it's that time of year again. I still wear one in busy places.
Love to all ?x

Good morning everyone from a very overcast ☁ Northampton. Heavy rain forecast this afternoon, so shall have to dress suitably to avoid getting soaked at rugby. Should be a good match as our international players are back after being rested. We are thInking of changing seats next year and go higher up in the stand and so more undercover and sheltered. But first this morning to make a hotpot in the slow cooker so I have a nice meal to come home to and no cooking.

Spent yesterday morning clearing out the shoe and coat cupboard in the hall; threw a few pairs of old shoes and a battered handbag out; then decided that my scarves smelt musty so all went in the washing machine. Was galvanised by the fact that the burglar alarm is being serviced soon, and it couldn't be found under a huge pile of coats.

A pleasant trip on the bus to local small retail park in the afternoon . Coffee in M&S, and a browse around the shops; picked up a few odds and ends. Was nice to be out in the sunshine.

BigBertha, I wear a mask on the bus and in the shops, but not in cafes or restaurants. Not sure about the theatre, think I would if not eating or drinking. I wore a mask to the cinema, but took it off once seated as it was a socially distanced screening and I had wine and popcorn and no-one else within about three metres. ( Mawbe, the Errol Flynn cinema does great socially distanced screenings). I wear one to rugby matches, but in the stadium not all the time as I often have a drink in hand.

Wishing all a pleasant Saturday.

Good morning from Anglesey where it would be a lovely day if it wasn’t for the grey skies and heavy rain.
Very happy birthday ? to Iris ??
Gosh it’s Saturday already, where did that week go?
You made my mouth water monk, with your mention of a full English, mmm.
Have a good day all and keep on keeping on Harrigran, GrannySomerset, grandMattie and everyone with troubles ?
