So the email has come and I clicked the link and booked it in for the end of the month . But I'm a tad nervous about it. I had no problems with pfyzer vaccines but just wondering if we really need the booster. Is this now an annual thing does anyone know, like the flu jab.
Has anyone had any issues or no issues even.

I half caught some medical bod on the radio yesterday explaining that it wasn't the fault of the people who refuse to be vaccinated, it was the fault of the authorities, if its anybody's fault at all.

Anybody who really understood the situation, and the science, and what was going on, would have no hesitation in taking the vaccines, so the authorities are failing in their duty to explain it properly those who are mistaken about the vaccine, he said.

Interesting viewpoint, I thought. It made me try to be more tolerant of those who won't take the vaccine, after all, they just don't understand.

But two jabs obviously haven't made you confident

Can't wait to have mine and husband feels the same. It will certainly make me feel much more confident about going out this winter.

Just spend half a day in a Covid ward biscuitmuncher. My granddaughter is nursing in a ward full of anti-vaxxers wishing they had had the Covid vaccination, even begging for it. Too late.

Neen who says its false news? All the new you hear is funded by the ones who make the vaccines

No, it isn't. The news comes from various sources.

I know for an absolute fact that years of research have gone into producing Covid vaccines. I don't think so much money and expertise has ever been thrown at one treatment before, which is why, in the end, it was ready for use so quickly.

It's not rushed through. The process for normal meds or trials takes so long, as you're not as blessed to have so many experts working at once.
Yes though I understand fear. I was scared ( literally ) on my first vaccine, due to all this false news.

For those who are immunosuppressed and looking for more info on the vaccines, , there is a Zoe webinar on Thursday 28th of October.

It's free to sign up.

My nearly 93 year old father had no side effects from his booster. I'll definitely have mine. I had Covid in January. Still coughing and wheezing. Don't take a chance with coronovirus. It's not fun. Please. Have the shot!

You're all having yourselves injected multiple times with something rushed through and people still get covid and still pass it on!

It wasn’t rushed through at all .this accusation makes me so cross. I haven’t got the link to hand and have to go now but Sarah Gilbert explains this quite clearly

But they’re less likely to be hospitalised or die from it. And it WASN’T rushed through. Research has been ongoing for years and all the relevant clinical trials were carried out to the point where it was deemed wrong to do double blind trials because it was obvious that unvaccinated people were being put at risk. It’s unfortunate that the vaccine hasn’t stopped transmission but if people had been vaccinated prior to the Delta variant becoming dominant that probably wouldn’t have been the case.

We are far safer to ourselves and to others if we have the covid vaccinations. I trust the word of many scientists around the world who have worked on this rather than anti-vaxxers.
The figures all prove my point anyway.

annodomini Thu 14-Oct-21 11:07:06

But...the people who have caught Covid after being vaccinated have usually had a mild dose and rarely been hospitalised. The evidence is that those who have been most seriously affected have been unvaccinated and of those one sixth have been pregnant women.
As far as I'm concerned, Case Closed!

I'm not an anti vaxxer but I'm anti this vaccine

biscuitmuncher why ??

Minerva Wed 13-Oct-21 23:38:30

I had the booster and flu jab same time. No more reaction than usual. Flu arm a bit more reactive than booster arm. I know people who died from Covid, one previously healthy young man aged only 40. I know people all ages who have long Covid. I know lots of NHS staff who have had the most terrible year and are still seeing severe cases of Covid. I am just so grateful to have had the booster and so bewildered that some people would rather chance getting Covid.

Shazmo24 Wed 13-Oct-21 22:17:16

Yes you do along with your flu vaccine. Just get it as you will have the best possible protection for yourself
