We’ve had a lovely afternoon with friends over from Bolton. They arrived at 4pm and left at 9pm.
A couple of drinks in a bar up the road, back here for curry and then M&S desserts (they do them so well, why faff?).

Having said that…Imogen received an accolade at school today, part of which means a formal dinner, she is 14!, Finley also had an excellent parents evening yesterday. The real accolade is to my daughter, we’re so extremely proud of them all.
But they can all be little sh**s on their off days too!

I’ve had a busy day today, we had the DGC to stay last night and we did the school run this morning. I’d like to report that they were no trouble and very well behaved but they were little terrors especially the eldest. They just don’t like being rushed in the mornings and dawdle about , they were up in plenty of time but everything was taking ages, they were squabbling and I was worried they’d be late for school. Anyhow we got them there in time then went back home for a tidy up, a rest and a strong coffee! I really take my hat off to all those grans who have childcare well under control with no issues … all tips welcome! ?
Once I recovered I got well wrapped up and went out pottering in the garden and started clearing up some of the leaves. There’s always lots to do this time of year but I enjoy it.

We actually went out today to have our hearing checked.
Apparently I am borderline and my DH needs to have wax removed. I am thinking it will be good to get aids now as I can then get used to them.
I also realised that I cannot hear all the birds singing any more. I thought there were fewer around so that is an extra reason to get help. I love birdsong.

I have a reasonably do-able heap of ironing to do. Sneaking away to get it done and catch up with today's news.

Tomorrow, I shall return. All good wishes to every one of our Granspals here in the kitchen.

Yes, Ann60, I am with my family. They have something arranged for tomorrow night but I'm not sure what it is but don't think it involves a firework display

I rather think that Mr Soop remains in the birthday mood. He is whistling a merry tune as he prepares a fresh chicken meal for a certain cat who may, or may not call by sometime soon.

I am preparing to paint a pussy cat portrait for a certain young lady.

Just had a negative result following my PCR. Very grateful. Less than twenty four hours. Amazing.
Have filled in on line request for anti biotics from GP. Not used system before.

Oh dear susan, hope Henry is all better very soon. Being sick is just foul for everyone.

It’s also greyduster’s birthday today. Although I don’t think she’s been in the Kitchen for a while all good wishes to her.

We’ve put some tender plants into shelter for the Winter and refilled the bird food. Coffee next then Mr C needs a haircut before lunch somewhere quiet. After that? A short walk if the sun continues to shine. I seem to have recovered some lost energy, making the most of it while it’s there.

We have a very hectic few days ahead, a party tomorrow for friends and family to celebrate my birthday and our Golden Anniversary on Saturday.I will certainly feel my age after all that.

Not having the day we had planned..Henry was sick as he walked in the door and is not a happy boy at all.DD thinks he had some of big sisters breakfast and is having an allergic reaction.He is just sitting on my knee cuddling and feeling sorry for himself.
