Soop's warm and welcoming kitchen for kindly folk.
(1001 Posts)Help! The old kitchen door is locked. I'm wandering hither and thither like a lost soul. Has a new kitchen been opened please? I hate being this side of the door.
Goodnight lovely Kitcheners, I hope you all have a good rest. Thank you GrandmaFrench for your kind, comforting and wise words, as always.
TOYA, may your dreams be full of ???
Good evening lovely people
Anno so many sad stories from friends and families who haven't been able to give the support they would wish in illness and loss during this whole Covid nightmare. I hope his Wife/your friend is doing well now.
Grandmabatty I hope your friend's partner slowly comes to terms with such sudden loss. And a very sad day for you. Such a shock SueD, we always assume (and why not) that our friends will be there always. I lost two of mine earlier this year. It shakes you to the core, but maybe in some ways that's a good thing - if it makes us stop taking our happy times for granted. Celebrate every moment of your friendship and make lots of memories together!
Well, with your listening ears on maximum, you can't say that you're not up-to-date with news, then brook ? - and it's a lot more fun than a text message (it has cake!)
Really well done in the bravery stakes, Urms. Rather you than me - but I'm filled with admiration.
Hoping that you've had a much better day, GrannyS and that your DH is much more comfortable.
Feel better soon, please soop ?⬛
Night night everyone, sweet dreams.
Thank you, everyone - I’m channelling your kind thoughts onwards to my friend. You’re absolutely right, Grandmajean, we really should treasure the moment. ❤️
Get well soon soop.
SueD so sad.
Posted too soon. Sorry to hear about your friend SueDonim that must be an awful shock for you all. And soop I hope you feel better tomorrow. x
Thinking of you dear Soop take care.
What tragic news SueD very sad.
Jax naproxen is a strong anti inflammatory drug, glad your son is feeling better.
‘Evening All’.
We’ve had a very rainy afternoon in Manchester so I delved into my stack of favourite DVD’s and spent a very pleasurable couple of hours watching a good film. Even now after several years of retirement it does seem decadent doing so! I don’t know why as I’d happily pick up a book! Maybe it’s the acknowledgement that I’m not moving (and Do Not Disturb) for a proscribed period of time.
?
So many posts to come in to tonight. And deletions! What on earth has been going on in soop’s lovely kitchen today? Probably best I don’t know really.
SueDonim so sorry for you (((hugs)))
So many posts to read! My sympathy to you, Grandmabatty. Just a year ago, I was unable to attend a good friend's funeral because of the Covid rules. He was the kindest of men and is hugely missed. His wife, my very good friend, has since been treated for cancer, so SueD, I can relate to your sadness on hearing about your friend's illness.
soop, I hope you feel better tomorrow. You mean so much to us and though we miss you when you're not here, we value your health, so take your time and rest.
DS2 almost always phones me on a Tuesday evening when he is driving to hockey training - a creature of habit! Just after he was off the line, his brother rang up for a chat. Both sons on one evening! I'm hoping to see all the family very soon.
Such sad and shocking news SueDonim, really puts things into perspective, doesn’t it?
I hope you have a good night’s rest Soop and return to the kitchen refreshed when you’re ready.
What a shock SueD - we should enjoy every day that we and our friends and family are well.
My DD did that a few months ago Jax We all wondered why she had biked to work. Getting super fit ? Nope - just didn't dare drive until MOT done and dusted. It would never happen to DS who knows exactly when his is due. Has happened to me, though. I think a car should look after itself and increase in value like diamonds. I don't mind putting petrol in but even that is a bit of a nuisance.
Easily done with the car Jaxj - mum to the rescue again!
How sad for your friend SueD no wonder you’re feeling in shock, life is tough and we all need to treasure every moment
Hope you’re feeling a bit better tomorrow soop and your mojo comes back bad stays put
I’ve had a busy day today, dancing - no sorry more like prancing around this morning trying to look a tiny bit elegant and then shopping in town this afternoon. I was just about to leave for home when DD2 messaged saying she was also in town and where was I ?. Needless to say I abandoned my trip home and we met up for a coffee and shared a cake. I just put my mum listening ears on as usual whilst the conversation swayed from holidays, furniture purchases, Christmas, winter clothes and work etc. I’ve learned to just um and ahh in the right places rather than actually offer an opinion ? I got home about 5.30 exhausted!
Oh Suedonim that's sad too.
Our posts crossed SueD shattering news ?.
Grandmabatty a difficult day for you, losing a good and lovely friend leaves a hole ?.
You’re not allowed to feel poorly soop..seriously, I’m sorry to hear you’re under the weather, go gently, rest and rejuvenate, our love is with you.
What folly of mine, cooking a roast on a Tuesday! we missed out after James Bond on Sunday, MrJ is overjoyed, not, that we have sprouts, I love them, he may have two, but chicken is his favourite. Son feels better today, whatever Naproxen is, it’s working. DD rang, she realised today, she’s been driving with no MOT for 4 weeks, can I ferry her around on Friday…of course I can!
soop this kitchen is precious, thank you.
A gentle evening to you all, x
for you, Grandmabatty. Such a sad day for you.
I’m glad your dh is improving, Grannysomerset, what a relief for you.
I hope, you find your mojo again soon, Soop.
Well, I’m sure you’ll all be thrilled to hear that the Xmas puddings are made! I seem to have rather overdone it, though, as I have four 1lb puds plus a single one-person one.
No doubt they’ll all get eaten in the fullness of time. They’re currently bubbling away in the slow cooker and it smells nice and festive in the kitchen.
I’ve been a bit sideswiped this evening at hearing that a friend is gravely ill in hospital. It’s either a blood cancer or, more likely, a stage four primary hidden somewhere. I’m stunned - four weeks ago this very evening we were having dinner out as a group of friends. She had a bit of a cold but was otherwise was in fine form. Super fit, too, lots of biking, walking for miles with her dog and so on. It’s hard for the mind to process such a turn of circumstance.
Pleased that your DH is gradually improving grannysomerset let’s hope he’s quickly back to his normal self
Sad news about your friend Grandmabatty he sounds like he was a lovely man
Sorry to read that there’s been some unease in the kitchen this afternoon, I hope it soon passes without too much upset
That mojo won't be far away soop ?
Take it easy , Soop - Sending best wishes that you are back to normal tomorrow.
soop hope after a good nights sleep you will feel better ?
I don’t like to hear of you feeling out of sorts Soop. Please look after yourself and don’t be overdoing things. Feet up and have a well deserved rest. Hoping you and MacSporran have a worry free peaceful evening. ?
I’m sorry for your loss, Grandmabatty. Thinking of you at this sad time.
