Good morning from dark E Kent.
Back to our normal humdrum lives. The early service at 0800 but no virtual church as DD is away. They have gone to the Lakes for a fun weekend with a Lower Limb Disability charity, I hope Iris is a Leto join in and enjoying it.
Still finishing last week’s chicken so no roast tonight.
Hope harrigran managed some sleep. Wishing all our posters, and those missing, a peaceful day. Carpe diem. ??????
Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it’s dry and dark.
I spent many hours in the garden yesterday. I started off with just the intention of cutting down the branches of a shrub and then my neighbour said they were having a new fence put up next month so I cut trimmed my shrubs back so the don’t get in the way. That particular boundary fence is my responsibility and I have a wire fence. They obviously don’t want to look at that since they took down their Leylandi hedge.
Today I may take things easier and do some crafting and pottering.
Take care all and enjoy your roasts ?
Good morning from a dry NE.
Had a good sleep after getting DH settled last night. DD and SIL stayed until they were sure I had everything under control and then I went straight to bed.
DS and family coming today, always lovely to see GDs, they brighten the day.
Still not able to arrange a flu vaccination, wouldn't you think they would ensure carers are taken care of ?
Thank you for kind messages of support.
Enjoy your Sunday.
Good morning Mick and All.
It’s misty here in South Bucks.
Off to NT Polesden Lacey to meet up with the family today. Haven’t see my boys since late August and I am longing to give them a hug.
So pleased you got a decent night’s sleep harri.
Good morning from Shropshire.
DGD stayed another night so we will take her to her swimming lesson.DD will meet us there to collect DGD.Hoping to then come home and get the house and us sorted for the week ahead. The washing machine has broken, new one will be delivered next Monday so we will take the laundry to DD’s tomorrow.
DH will make ‘garden’ soup for lunch with the last of the home grown tomatoes. We’ve had a really good crop this year.
Glad you had a good sleep harri and that you have help again today?
Hope Iris enjoys the weekend away?
Have the best day you can everyone??
Morning Mick, morning All. Light cloud over our corner of Somerset.
General faffing for me today. Mr C has promised to tackle the ironing. If the sun peeps out later will have a short walk. Granddaughter is apparently feeling reasonably OK, her sister says having her in isolation is weird, she’s there but not there. Apparently it’s very quiet. Now we know who makes all the noise.
.
Enjoy your family day nanKate. Pleased you managed to sleep harri. Thinking of you grandMattie. A quiet day sounds just right mick.
Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is kind to us all.
Good morning all from a wet North Leicestershire. Doubt we will be going to feed the ducks today but Persie will come with me to feed DS1's cat. And, she and Pa will be making biscuits!
Roast pork for lunch.
Have the best day possible all.
Morning all from Cheshire.
Still darkish at nearly 8 am. Hoping for a quiet day.DIL's birthday tomorrow so present ? to deliver. Only a five minute drive away.
Good vibes and some sunshine to all with worries. Glad you had a good sleep Harrigran
Good morning all and it’s very still and quiet here in Essex.
We washed and prepared the front door for a new coat of Polytrol . Its a composite door and hasn’t worn very well. I did consider painting it but reviews say it’s not advisable. Has anyone tried doing it.
GranMattie - enjoy the ‘humdrum’. ?
Harrigran pleased you had a good nights sleep. ?
Susan - garden soup sounds lovely. How does your dh get rid of tomato skins? Does he put it through a sieve?
Wishing everyone a lovely Sunday. ????
Good morning everyone from Inverness where is cloudy and grey but not raining - yet!
Yesterday turned out to be quite a good weather day, we even sat out in the afternoon with a cuppa. I made the most of the weather and like you Beechnut spent hours pottering in the garden. Today will probably be the same if it stays dry or maybe sorting out the garage and shed if the rain comes in
Pleased you had a reasonable night harri please look after yourself as much as you can.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning all from the heart of Herts where the day looks dull but dry, hopefully it will improve as it gets lighter.
It's been a busy week with extra DGC care due to parents' extra busy work schedule, I had 5 shifts instead of the usual 2! Hopefully this week things will calm down and we get back to normal.
Last week we celebrated DGS's 2nd birthday and today we have our DS3's 39th which marks the end of the birthday season for our family, so no more celebrations until Christmas.
Wishing all of you a restful Sunday.
Good morning, everyone, from Torbay, where it’s gradually brightening up.
Wish I was! This morning, I should have been playing the piano at church but last night, I had a return of the symptoms of labyrinthitis which I’d first had in late August. I couldn’t finish my dinner, which is unusual. Luckily, I’ve found a substitute to play but I hate to let people down.
Beechnut: what a busy day you had so I think a crafting day is well deserved. I hope you’ve found your service uplifting, grandMattie and that Iris enjoys her weekend. It's good to know you’ve slept well, harrigran, and I hope your flu vaccination is available soon.
When I was a child, we lived near Polesden Lacey and I have happy memories of visiting it, NanKate. Susan56: you sound as busy as ever, as does Beechnut! I admire your energy!
Wishing you all a blessed Sunday. ?????
Good morning to you all.
Just a quick message today I’m off to spend the day with a group of ‘craft’ friends. Most haven’t seen each other for nearly 2 years . More talking than crafting methinks !
Oops, too soon.
Thoughts with all who are sad, worried or poorly. Hope you all find a smile today.
Good morning everyone from a cloudy and dull Northampton. Looks like rain, but we shall see; anyway, no plans to be out of doors.
Had a good walk to the surgery yesterday for my flu jab, and now I have a very sore arm. Got the bus part-way back, popped in the newsagents to pay my paper bill - they had a shock, as it's the first time I've been in since before the first lockdown! I usually pay by bank transfer.
Then a browse round the local Co-op for some different cat food, which I am pleased to say the cats fell upon.
A quiet day in today with the Sunday papers and a new book. Bacon butty shortly!
Take care and stay safe everyone.
Gingster he skins the tomatoes by sticking a fork in them and plunging them into boiling water. We call it garden soup because he uses veg he has grown although we had to buy carrots for today.
Ash, my energy levels are running low!
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a wet, dreary South Yorkshire, so it looks like being an “in” day. Makes me wish we had done some gardening yesterday, but I was desperate to get some knitting finished and out of the way (which didn’t help my frozen shoulder), and DH was watching sport on TV. Today we are making the Christmas cake. Fingers crossed that the oven is in a good mood - it’s been a bit temperamental recently.
Harri glad you had a better night’s sleep??.
Hope someone has some sunshine somewhere!
Morning from S Lanarkshire, it’s obviously been raining during the night but dry at the moment.
A lovely afternoon with two young DGC yesterday. They greeted me with delighted hugs which raised my spirits wonderfully. Pumpkin carving led by DD thankfully, I am not creative which is a real lack but I did help with the messy bits!
Today should be quite quiet, I’ll finish my book club read although I may not make the group tomorrow morning because of the timing of my flu/booster jab. It was my choice this month so I would like to hear what other people thought.
Small Pleasures, I am enjoying it.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday???
Good morning Mick and all from Glasgow, I'm still in bed after another restless night. Gone are the days when I bounced out of bed at 6am.
DH does say it is quite damp outside.
Our only plan today is to find the source of the leak from the washing machine, I came down to a flooded kitchen yesterday, Mr Doll in his own inimitable way, was totally oblivious to the puddle on the floor.
I will need to bite my tongue, while we try to fix it, no matter how difficult that will be. I have a man's brain, love to troubleshoot and fix things, while my husband is the intellectual in this relationship!!! ?
I suspect the problem was caused by the two amateurs (from a reputable company), who delivered and fitted the new tumble dryer. They pulled the old one out, without unplugging it, ripped the cable from the back, leaving a live wire, which tripped the fuse box. The washing machine was then yanked out, to get to the live cable!!! You couldn't have made it up!!
Relieved to read you are getting support, Harri. Life for you and your husband has been a battle, but you do seem a wee bit brighter, now your family are with you and you have had a better sleep.
Kate have a great day, I'm sure your boys are as excited as you are!
Wishing you all a pleasant and relaxing day.
P.S. This has taken me an hour to post, we have no Internet again, so I haven't been able to read all the posts. ?????
Good morning Mick and all from an overcast S Hants. Good you’ve had some decent sleep harrigran. Hoping GrandmaSomerset has had a quiet night too.
MrJ enjoyed his boys day out at football, we ended up with kebabs for dinner.
Out later with friends for a tapas lunch before watching Bond, then a quiet evening.
Thinking of those absent and those struggling. ??
Good morning Mick and everyone from dark and rainy Carlisle. It looks like my plan for planting a shrub and some bulbs is scuppered, it doesn't look like clearing up any time soon. Yesterday, I removed more turf than I usually manage, so far without health repercussions.
My next task is the Christmas cake, the dried fruit has already spent a pleasant night wallowing in brandy and smells divine!
After that, picture hanging and reading and generally not doing anything called work.
I hope you all have an enjoyable day, and one without labyrinthitis, Ashcombe.
Morning Mick and all
I have just woke up after the best nights sleep for a week, haven’t opened the curtains yet.
Will have a lazy day, let the medications work their magic, I am feeling a bit better each day. Roast chicken for dinner tonight, easypeasy .
The Imp had his first ever sleep over last night with his other grandparents (they are calledNanny and Grandad) so it is extraordinarily quiet here (blissful after the last 3 months).
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
Good morning from a dry and cloudy Essex by the sea. The sun is doing it's best to appear but not making a very good job of it.
DH has gone early to an away rugby game with his grandsons. I've done a pile of ironing and prepared the veg for a casserole.
I'm going to make my Christmas cake tomorrow so must soak the fruit tonight in the brandy we bought yesterday.
I hope you all have a pleasant Sunday xxx
Good morning from overcast Colchester. A mild, dry day forecast.
A quiet Sunday here after a busy afternoon yesterday and a chippy tea.
No roast dinner as DH is out and DS will be returning to base. I'll heat up some leftover curry for myself and curl up with a book or TV and begin my hibernation.
Love to all xx
