I don't dislike contemporary music, its just that I think it dosent have the same impact on me as the sounds that were around when I was growing up.....must be an age thing.
We've got the play list basically in 2 sections. Earlier on its more laid back while peeps get settled in and relaxed, then starts hitting the stuff that (I hope) peeps will want to dance to. Its around 4 hours long and amongst others The Doors, Marvin Gaye, Blues Brothers, Santana, Free, Bee Gees, Rolling Stones, KC and the Sunshine Band, Thin Lizzy (and Mud - anyone remember Tiger Feet??) get a name check, while some of the playlist isnt my own personal preference, I've gone for stuff that (I hope) has wider appeal and that people can have fun too.
