Good morning all from a sunny Suffolk coast. The sunrise over the sea was spectacular. I won’t send the pic as it doesn’t do it justice.

Last evening we had our book club meet-up. A nice bunch of ladies and a jolly gent. It’s a very relaxed group and we chat a lot about different things before we get to the matter in hand. Wine and cakes on offer too. ?. So unlike my other book club back in Essex where it’s quite serious with the other ladies being well educated academics. I always feel a bit dim but I think it stretches me and makes me look deeper into the literary world ??. Just a glass of water with this lot. ???.

Mick enjoy your weekend with your sister.
GM so glad you’ve found your inner clown. ?
Nankate happy golden wedding. ??
Sar enjoy your time with your girls. Let us know how the musical went.
Kittlester how disappointing for you. They are only thinking of your best interests. ❤️

Harrigran keep strong and look after yourself at this sad time ?.

Wishing you all a ‘Good Day’ ????

Good morning Mick, morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

Congratulations to the Nankates, have a wonderful weekend celebrating.

It would be marvellous if your DS manages to get to you for Christmas Mattie, fingers crossed.

I’m sorry for your disappointment kitty Enjoy your weekends Sar and Mick.

How annoying and disappointing Jaxjacky.

Thinking of harri.

DS’s little one wasn’t at all well yesterday, she seems to have had one bad cold after another for months now, poor lamb. DS messaged me last night to say that she was asleep and that ‘having children is a constant worry’. Yep.

Charity shop today then minding DD’s gang this evening.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Good morning from a dull windy Leicestershire.

Nordic Walking this morning as my DH’s Covid test was negative. It is just the dreadful cold which is going around and I seem to have missed.

Sorry your DH is still in hospital Greyduster and that is a disappointment kitty.
Congratulations on your Golden Wedding tomorrow NanKate.
Sending warm enveloping hugs to Harrigran.

Grammaretto Fri 22-Oct-21 07:42:18

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is still dark but less cold than yesterday.
The scaffolding next door is coming down! It's been over a year since it went up and my garden below it has struggled to survive.
Congratulations to NanKate and DH on achieving 50years.
?✨?
I hope your DS manages to come for Christmas gMattie wouldn't that be wonderful.

I have been invited to DS1's for the festivities which I appreciate and perhaps by next year I will be able to host again.

Yoga this morning and later I'm going into town to see an art exhibition.

Have a nice time with your sister Mick
I am sorry about your disappointment kitty and Greyduster I sympathise. This time last year we did exactly that ie smuggled DH out of hospital.
Thinking of Harrigran

How lovely Mick to have your sister with you this weekend. Sar53 enjoy your time at DD’s. Oh dear kittylester how disappointing.

We have The Imp, no real plans for the day but looking forward to meeting our friends for dinner this evening (nice Italian looking out over the sea).

Thinking of our morning friends with challenges ahead.keep

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a dark damp South Yorkshire. I am up early this morning as I am going home for the day so SiL will drop me off on his way to work. I have my COVID booster today at a local site also. DH is still in hospital. I visited him yesterday and it all seemed noisy and chaotic. I wanted to smuggle him out under my coat! DD has just gone for a run with a friend. In the dark and the wet! Mad, the pair of them!?.
Happy 50th Mr and Mrs NanKate - quite a milestone! Have a lovely day.???

NanKate Fri 22-Oct-21 07:12:53

Good morning Mick and All.

Thank you Marydoll the actual day is tomorrow 23rd but we are off today to start the Golden Wedding celebrations. Old friends who were with us all those years ago will come to the hotel in Stratford upon Avon, where I used to live, for lunch tomorrow. On Sunday we are going back to the church we married in (where Shakespeare is buried) to Renew our Vows. I’m bound to cry! We will be with the family next week to celebrate with them.

I count myself as very lucky to have reached this milestone having read the very sad news about Harrigran’s husband. ?It makes me realise how we need to value what we have whilst we have it.

Finally so sorry to hear Kitty about the cancellation of the family visit. Covid has a lot to answer for.

Sar53 Fri 22-Oct-21 06:56:50

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is cold and dark.
DH will spend the day working on his boat, I have a pile of ironing to get on with, then I need to pack for my weekend away at DD2.
DD2, DGD1 and I are going to see the musical SIX on Saturday.
I too am thinking of Harri flowers.
Have a lovely Friday everyone xx

Good morning all from a still dark and quite cold North Leicestershire.

We had a lovely day yesterday having lunch at a small hotel in the next village. The food was delicious and we came home and watched TV all afternoon.

The day was somewhat ruined by a whatsapp from DD2. She and her family were to come and stay for half term but she feels that there is too much chance of them bringing covid with them so their visit is cancelled. We are so disappointed, as they are.

It does make me feel old and feeble that they have to worry about us. And I have loads of food in!!!

Love to harri who puts my moans into perspective.

grandMattie Fri 22-Oct-21 06:48:43

Happy visit from your sister, Mick.
Congratulations you and DH, NanKate. Have wonderful celebrations! ????

Good morning from a clear moonlit E Kent. No idea of the temperature, but I suspect it is in the vicinity of 6 deg.
I too had had a restless night, don’t really know why.
Today, I’m out to lunch in Deal with one of my tai chi friends. It’ll be a nice change to get back to normal. My lovely Spanish teacher commented yesterday that I was laughing a lot - well, I’ve retaken my place as the class clown. So all is returning to normal.
Spoke to DS1 in India yesterday. He’s hoping to come home for Christmas if things stay the same, but I’m not holding my breath in view of the CV19 numbers etc…
Holding harrigran to my heart ❤️, and hoping that the rest of you are staying ok. Carpe diem. ?????☀️

Marydoll Fri 22-Oct-21 06:42:46

Good morning Mick and all from a chilly Glasgow.
That's lovely news about your sister's visit Mick.

Happy golden wedding anniversary to NanKate. I hope you and your husband have a lovely day! ????

I have fairly busy day, not feeling the best, but I need to go and collect my prescriptions, negotiating several sets of road works and a main road closure. There seem to be roadworks everywhere at the moment.

Thinking of Harri at this sad time. ?

Wishing you all the best possible of days.

Jaxjacky Fri 22-Oct-21 06:29:00

Good morning Mick and all from a chilly S Hants @ 3deg.
Have a lovely weekend Mick with your sister.
Restless night for me, unusual and I was very tired, maybe as my Mum used to say, ‘overtired’.
Imogen’s consultation was disappointing, her brain scan, EEG, had not been sent to the consultant beforehand, even though DD had specifically stated the date and was assured it would be there. A ‘phone consultation will follow, when it turns up.
I had three convoluted drives yesterday and was whacked out by the evening, but none today, just admin and Tesco delivery.
Hope you have a date for the bed GrannySomerset.
Thoughts with harrigran in her sorrow.
