Good morning Mick, morning all. It’s another damp start here in South Lanarkshire.

My phone is playing silly beggars, the page keeps crashing.

Lovely to see you harri, shame about your wasted journey.

Look after yourself gMattie.

Marydoll, I know just what you mean about losing skills, sometimes I think my kitchen hates me.

We have friends coming over for dinner at the weekend so I’ll have to menu plan and food shop today as tomorrow and Friday are busy.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Good morning everyone.
Just finished breakfast and have eaten too much.
We are of to Alfriston this morning for a wander and a NT property. We shall decide after how to spend the rest of the day.
Hope Wednesday is kind to you all with a smile along the way.

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s grey and breezy in Suffolk today.
I hope your kitchen blind appointment goes well Mick .
I am on duty at the WI coffee morning tomorrow, so after a trip to C&C at Tesco I shall be baking. Then DH & I have our boosters at tea time. He has had his flu jab but I must sort mine.

Some busy grans on here today and disappointments too. What a shame about DD getting pinged kitty.
Well, I must make a start! First, my coffee has arrived ?
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Morning Mick and all

I have an arm that feels like it has been kicked by a horse after my third Covid jab yesterday, other than that DH sneezed, sniffed and snored all night as he now has this flipping super cold so I am extremely tired. My cleaning angels are arriving anytime now.

I will however drag myself to the gym later this morning, than it’s my manicure and pedicure appointment, might have to have an afternoon nap…

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Good morning Mick and all from a wet and windy Lancashire coast. Lunchtime concert today and taking the bus for a change, might even wear a hat. Later the plumber comes to check a leaking radiator.
Music club great fun yesterday with a Halloween theme. Our MD sang a comedy song new to me about Anne Boleyn ‘with her head underneath her arm’. My backings on YouTube with my little Bluetooth speaker is working well.
Nice to have new blinds Mick and good to have your daughter with you harrigran.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A gloomy start to the weather in South Yorkshire but it may brighten. GS came for the day yesterday, and it was a joy to have him, but he walked down to the supermarket with me and he’s almost as bad as his mum for scanning every item for red light ingredients - there was lengthy wrangling about the simple bottle of Lucozade that grandad asked for. Too much sugar and caffeine apparently. I got my way in the end. I noticed he had no such scruples about the crisps and cream cakes that found their way into the trolley!?. They are off to Whitby today for a few days but he has booked his bed here for Friday night when they get back. DH has a telephone appointment this morning with the anti-coagulation clinic at the hospital. Then we are hoping to get a short walk in.
Harri what a nuisance about your flu jab. Nice to see you this morning.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Mick and all from dark wet Carlisle. Yesterday the sun came out later on....for about a minute! I hope it's going to stop raining shortly, I have to go into town, I have an appointment at the hairdressers. Third time lucky, the previous two were cancelled, one by her, one by me. My hair is past my shoulders and I am fed up with it. I shall do a few shopping errands while I'm out to make the best use of my time.
As for the rest of the day, it depends on whether it lightens up here. I need good natural light for tasks like picture hanging, if none, I'm sure I can find a good book...
Good to see you back harrigran, and to know you are not home alone.
All of you with unwellness, I hope it's an improving day.

Grandmadinosaur The train looks magical, I’m mad about trains so rather jealous!

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 27-Oct-21 09:45:15

Good morning everyone from a dull and breezy Oxfordshire, not much to do today, I went mad yesterday and made 2 pans of soup and a casserole, so I can flop in the chair today, this super cold is dragging on……
Hope all who have worries manage to have a peaceful day and a virtual hug for those who need comforting.

A trying start to the day with the back nagging and DH in a bed that had to be stripped and everything put in the washer - would have included him if I could. Will have to ask a neighbour to help me remake the bed but fortunately we do have lovely helpful neighbours. Paracetamol starting to kick in now so that’s something, but I do fear that unless I can organise some respite nothing will improve as it is noticeable that if I do nothing for several hours things are better - and doing nothing is hardly possible. And then helping DH stand or dress or do anything really aggravates the muscles which are protesting.

Sorry Marydoll and harrigran are feeling fragile and hope things improve and that everyone has a reasonable day.

Good morning from another daughter’s where I am ‘dog sitting’. No rain here yet but lots promised.

Although I’ll have to travel further I’m going to try for my exercise class at one o’clock rather than miss it, several members haven’t returned since it started up again and the class could be cancelled if numbers drop any further.

Son in law made me a delicious roll and sausage from the local excellent butcher before he left for work, years since I indulged myself with that and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Wishing everyone the best day possible???

Mapleleaf Wed 27-Oct-21 10:51:08

Good morning,

It’s a blustery but mild morning today. I’ve just been out to the post office as the card I had for posting was too wide to fit in the mouth of the nearby postbox. I tell myself the exercise was good for me ?.

I managed to get the grass cut yesterday ready for the bin collection, and they didn’t come. It looks as if no one had their green bin for garden waste emptied yesterday despite the schedule saying it would be. I’ve reported it, but I’m not optimistic - they’ve probably got fewer drivers available at the moment. At least the garden looks tidy ?.

The lights on the steam train look pretty again, Grandmadinosaur. DH and I went on it a couple of years ago and enjoyed the atmosphere. We were hoping to book the Christmas train for lunch this year, but they were late advertising it online and all the 2 seats had been taken. The price has also gone up rather a lot, so I’m not sure we’d have booked anyway even if there had been spaces, which is a shame.

? Harrigran.

Good morning Mick and all. It’s a damp, grey, wintery day in this corner of Lancashire. Not much planned for today. I’m going to soak my still rather sore foot in the foot spa for a while, as the heat and bubbles are soothing. I have my Covid booster booked for tomorrow afternoon, and the disabled parking is quite a hike from the vaccination centre. I’m worried about how I will manage. Whoever organised it seems clueless about mobility impairments!

Thinking of you Harrigran flowers

Good morning to all the lovely folk on here from a blustery and quite damp Anglesey.
Sorry to tell you AGA but it's a westerly so the rain may be coming your way. *Pantglas used to rely on the forecast from Anglesey coming towards Conwy.
grandMattie and Grandmadinosaur, we went fishing whilst on honeymoon and caught crabs. Didn't sound good when asked if we'd enjoyed our honeymoon.
Nice to see you posting Harrigran, baby steps.
Hope your back is bearing up GrannySomerset, hope some help is forthcoming.
Now where's that random pink flamingo when we need it.

aggie Wed 27-Oct-21 11:17:03

Good morning everyone, bit damp here , but I’m not going anywhere any time soon
Poor GrannySomerset I can’t understand why the Doctor or the District Nurse haven’t got you carers to get OH up and dressed , we got carers and didn’t have to pay them , they became friends and I still see them around the village caring for others
Marydoll I used to be the go too to bake for all events , made many wedding cakes , the last fruit loaf I made ended up in the bin ! But so far the mincemeat seems fine ! I dread doing the pastry now !

Good morning (is it still?) from cloudy Leicestershire.

I had to do all DH's jobs this morning - tidying the kitchen, emptying the dishwasher etc as he is still suffer with the super cold.
I want him well enough to get him to the chiropodist today so must let him rest.

So sorry your DD has been pinged kitty. I am really fed up with Covid now!

So good to see you Harrigran you will feel fragile for sometime I am afraid but good of you to update us as we are all thinking of you.

Hope you feel better today and your Internet allows your date with the TV Marydoll and I hope you are not overdoing it GrandMattie you too are in our thoughts.

dragonfly46 Wed 27-Oct-21 11:46:37

I too wonder why you do not have carers GrannySomerset. At this rate you will wear yourself out and not be any good to anyone. I have heard you have to shout very loudly and often for help as it must be out there.
Please look after yourself too when you can.

Purplepixie Wed 27-Oct-21 11:57:20

Good morning from a very windy East Midlands. Leaf tidying this afternoon along with planting wall flowers.
