Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and mild. I can’t believe it’s almost November and as yet we’ve not had our heating on and are still sleeping under the summer duvet. We bought a new winter one in preparation and it’s still in its roll pack in a bedroom corner, waiting ...

Pace yourself grandMattie. I hope you’re not doing some displacement thing by keeping so very busy. You will wear yourself out if you keep up this frantic level of activity. My thoughts are with you and very kindly meant.

Welcome back harrigran. It’s early days. Oh, that’s the train on its way.

The Boy Wonder is booked in for the climbing wall at the leisure centre with a school friend - he’s so excited to do it together. Pizza for the boys afterwards at his house and an hour to play before the friend will be picked up by his mum. It’s the first time he’ll have been (to both places!). Now he’s 9y mum is starting to encourage friends over. A good thing in my opinion. I shall go along as L’il Miss is booked in too and is looking forward to it but her en edgy levels after her heavy cold may let her down so i’m On Standby.

Hope you get your blood levels and meds sorted soon Ashcombe it’s a fine balance. At least in the meantime you’re feeling better whilst you wait further input.

Gd, crabs from Whitby remind me of a very famous Canadian seafood shop called “Lucy’s” I think at Port Edward, BC, where they sell T-shirts and tote bags saying “I got crabs from Lucy”. ?

Didn’t work the first time! ?

So good to see you posting, Harri, but not so good about the non vaccination.

After a particularly bad night, I have woken up with no voice, a slight temp and feeling pretty rubbish. Mr MDoll will be delighted about the lack of voice and an unexpectedly quiet day.?

Yesterday was a bit of a disaster, cooking wise. Despite plenty of pectin, jam sugar and two cycles of the jam maker, the jam is still runny. It tastes delicious, but won't set. To add to my frustration, the apple and cinnamon puddings, made with apples from my patio fruit tree were also a failure! I opened the oven for a peek, to see sponge mixture everywhere, I think I had too much filling! What a mess!!!
Does anyone feel they are losing their skills? Despite having successfully been making jam for over forty The last two batches have been a disaster. ☹
Retreating to the conservatory, for some consolation from my professor, I found the internet was down. ? Even he has let me down.?

It's not easy managing high BP, mine is always on the high side and has caused all sorts of problems. However, I'm asymptomatic, so unaware of it. I just stopped taking it on a daily basis, it was just stressing me and not helpful at all.
My optician blames permanent high BP for my recently formed cataracts, my consultant blames it for the damage inside my heart, so fingers crossed your GPs manage to get it down to a reasonable level.

I kept thinking of AG's selfless daughter yesterday and hope having her mum with her will aid her road to recovery.
GS, hoping the back pain has eased a bit and the new bed is making life a bit easier.

Many on here, are struggling, but say nothing. For those posters, I hope today is bearable and you find some respite. ?

Good morning all from our hotel in Pickering . It’s dry one here.

Had a lovely day yesterday ending with our trip in the steam train. I’ll attach some photos.
Today we are going to Whitby and then back home. I’m not sure about the season but I love crab when we’ve been there before. Can’t beat it!

Good to see you harrigran hope you get your flu vaccine sorted soon and take care
You can sometimes see the northern lights from up here in the north of Scotland NanKate I’ve an app on my phone which alerts me when it’s likely and many a time we’ve put on our coats and hats and left the comfort of our warm house to stand outside in the cold garden. Apart from some light green streaks in the sky we’ve not been lucky yet but still trying with double fingers and toes crossed!

Today I’m off to the gym, meeting a friend for coffee and then packing my bag for a trip to see DD1 in Cambridge tomorrow for the last few days of half term there - can’t wait!

I have to clear the filters of my Washer dryer today as it has developed a fault and the manufacturer's won't send anyone out under the guarantee unless I've done this....

Another family disappointment kitty, what a pain. The Northern Lights are magical nanKate, we saw them in Norway, sounds odd I know but those low temperature truly don’t feel that cold. I’m worn out reading about your day grandMattie, wish I had the stamina.

Good Morning from Severnside. It’s too dark to see the weather, probably damp.

Lovely to see you posting this morning harrigran. It’s still very early days so to be fragile is expected.

Duster will be out this morning along with the cleaner in the dining room and then I’m off to the dentist. What I do later will depend on what happens with the dentist. I find sitting there with mouth stretched open for a while can make me weary ?.

My bp was up last week. Must be something in the air. I will have it taken again tomorrow.

Nankate, your son was very lucky. We went to the Yukon one year and to Iceland another and didn’t see the Aurora. I’m hoping to take DD on one of those flights. Third time lucky?

Thanks, NanKate and kittylester. Diuretics to lower my BP led to dangerously low levels of sodium, according to a blood test earlier this week, making me dizzy and even more confused than normal! Both tablets are not to be taken for now.

I had a bp test yesterday Ashcombe and it was sky high inmy right arm and acceptable in my left.

Thank you, everyone, for the supportive, helpful comments yesterday. I think I’m feeling more normal (!) today. My BP is higher and I’m expecting it to creep up to the unacceptably high levels of before. Back to square one!

Good morning from a clear, dark E Kent.
I was wiped out yesterday. Perhaps I did too much…. I went to tai chi, then had lunch. After this, we went to the supermarket then we walked across the road to the shopping centre. DH wanted a particular magazine, which he didn’t find. I took the opportunity to buy myself some new trousers to go with the two lovely Kurtis I got recently. Came home, put shopping away. I then launched myself into making two Bakewell tarts, a quiche for tonight and some flapjacks as well as dinner.
Quite a busy day today. I’m going to myWI federation needle craft group - they are a lovely bunch of ladies.

I had an appointment for the flu vaccination yesterday but when I arrived they had no record of my internet booking and said they had no vaccine anyway, wasted journey.
I am still very fragile but my family are here and DD has managed to work online from my home.
