Good Morning Everyone,
Its still dark, but its dry and less windy here in Brackley this morning.
Plans for the day is bus to Buckingham and then Bicester , and returning home via Buckingham, hopefully the flea market will be in full swing, weather permitting stallholders.
And when I get home relax with TV , and make sure I put my clock and watch back an hour before I retire for the night.
Take Care,
Mick

Hello PT, I did wonder when I read a post of yours referencing Anglesey! Love the names, {you are very clever to think them up)- thankyou, they brought a smile on a wet morning! grin

Urmstongran Sat 30-Oct-21 10:34:36

It’s like being in a witness protection programme! now that really made me laugh!

Silly me - I’d forgotten about BBs. Can anyone post a pic of ginger grundy, please?

aggie Sat 30-Oct-21 10:16:07

Love the new name Pollytickle

Nannagarra Sat 30-Oct-21 10:10:50

It’s good to see you back on GN, LauraNorder.
I’m now going to look up ginger grundy, Haiku Salut and Burford Browns. The mess I’ve made won’t tidy itself, though, will it?

Jaxjacky Sat 30-Oct-21 10:10:43

Sun here now EkwaNimitee after heavy rain earlier, I’ll send some up to you!

EkwaNimitee Sat 30-Oct-21 10:03:30

Good morning Mick and everyone from dark rainy Carlisle where sun is promised this afternoon. It will be a quiet day of baking, reading and brain training for me I think. Obviously the brain does need perking up because, PollyTickle, I am one who hadn't cottoned on! Glad to see you back.
grandMattie, I'm envying your talent, just a clumsy left-hander me.
Have a good weekend everyone, let's hope for some sun.

Good morning Mick and all from a dull Lancashire coast. A ‘free’ today. Just as well, if a burglar entered, they would think I had already been done…
Yesterday I got my times mixed up for the practice for Christmas and other concerts and was setting out as if for a Tuesday run through (too late) so missed it. Had a lot on all week, but still…
Watched Falling for Figaro last night, so so and cheesy. I thought Lumley was a ridiculous caricature of a singing teacher. She could be played eccentric of course, but it was completely over the top. I should keep away from rom coms.
Lovely handiwork “grandMattie*, thoughts to harrigran and hello again PollyTickle from your beautiful island!

brook2704 Sat 30-Oct-21 09:59:15

Oh pollytickle I didn’t know !! Mind you I’m usually quite slow at cottoning onto things ? welcome back!!

Nannagarra Sat 30-Oct-21 09:54:43

Good morning from soggy Sefton by the sea.
What a clever lady you are, GrandMattie: the table runner and mats are beautiful. Isn’t it fun to create names for dishes? A friend last weekend cooked frog in a bog (toad in the hole) while you’ve christened your casserole “hedgehog”. Can anyone add to these?
“The Nutcracker” is pure magic, Ashcombe - another delightful way to celebrate your welding. After a long wait to see each other, life looks good.
Instead of streamlining the many cookery books I’ve amassed, I’ve create a mess which I must tidy today!
Thinking of you all and hoping you have the best day possible. ???

PollyTickle Sat 30-Oct-21 09:49:27

By the way it’s no secret any more that I was LauraNorder. It’s like being in a witness protection programme!
Just to say thanks to all of those who cottoned on and pm’d to welcome me back. You’ve no idea how much it’s appreciated.

PollyTickle Sat 30-Oct-21 09:43:50

Good morning all from a lovely sunny Anglesey after another night of rain.
Lots of scrumptious breakfasts on here this morning, especially those kippers.
Enjoy the rugby Sar.
Have a bright and breezy day everyone ?

aggie Sat 30-Oct-21 09:38:14

Good morning everyone, it’s dry at the moment and a clear sky after a wet night , there is a down pipe and drain outside my bedroom window , the gurgling wakened me ,
I have a pile of washing to hang out before I run out of unmentionables !
My much younger sister rang yesterday , her tv was on the blink , wouldn’t change channels , I told her to pull out the plugs and start again , she said no , she would go to the sop and get the young man to come !
Got a txt last night , she had unplugged it and gone out , then plugged it back in when she came home …….Bingo it worked !! She thinks I’m a genius ?

Greyduster Sat 30-Oct-21 09:35:38

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire. GS stayed over last night and is not about yet. He is not being collected until mid afternoon, so we will have him for a little longer. Always good! He brought me back some kippers from Whitby so that’s my lunch sorted!
Hope someone somewhere has some dry weather today. Have the best day you can, all.

Gingster Sat 30-Oct-21 09:34:24

Good morning and I’m late today. Didn’t wake up til 8.15. Unheard of for me and poor little pooch was crossing her legs. I apologised to her for any discomfort I had caused.?.

It’s raining here on the Suffolk coast. Yesterday was our first day of rain in the 10 days we’ve been up here. We had a glorious walk in the forest where the autumn colours were spectacular.
In the afternoon we visited our old neighbour who has moved in to my late SIL’s bungalow. How strange it was !

Last evening I went to our local small theatre to see/hear Haiku Salut lamp show. I thought it would be a folk group. But no! It was quite bizarre with 20 or so lamps of all shapes and sizes connected to a computer, so they flashed on and off to the ‘music’. Lots of electronic instruments and all sorts of noises. 3 young ladies who never said a word, just wandered around the stage making sounds . Not music as I know it. They have been going for 10 years and play all around the country. Anyone heard of them?

Dh has just gone to the tip and to get the papers and a baguette., to have with smoked salmon for brek. Yum.
I thought of Urms yesterday while we ate our Burford Browns. Delish! Can’t get the in a lot of places.

Today we will tidy the cottage ready for our journey back to Essex. We have a lot on in November so probably won’t be back until mid December.

Enjoy the rugby Sar. Hope you have a better journey home. ?

Enjoy your Saturday , everyone. Don’t get too wet ?

Purplepixie Sat 30-Oct-21 09:17:40

Good morning from a very very wet east Midlands. Happy weekend to you all.

Urmstongran Sat 30-Oct-21 09:07:45

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s chucking it down. We have no plans whatsoever today. Lovely, after a busy childminding one yesterday. Himself will watch Man. Utd against Tottenham at teatime, testing his equilibrium sorely I expect. I plan a very idle day just because I can. I might be tempted to stay in my pj’s too multicoloured so budge up ...
#lazygran

I loved your hedgehog story grandMattie (and that sewing! Oh my.) and your tale about the power switch Marydoll! This is such a wonderful place to start the day.

Ashcombe enjoy the Nutcracker. I’d love to see it. I might one year. Perhaps take L’il Miss when she’s bigger. Poor girlie has developed earache on top of her snotty nose and spiking temps. I think she won’t be in school on Monday but we are home so can mind her if need.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 30-Oct-21 09:06:46

Good morning from a windy East Yorkshire.

Yesterday I met DIL and dgs for coffee which was nice. She has a relative staying this week who was also there so that was nice to catch up.
Today need to do another food shop, DH is watching football, me Strictly and somewhere inbween dgs is coming to carve the pumpkin grandad bought him. Phew I’m really grateful for an extra hour sleep after this week.

grandmattie I so admire your sewing skills. Those mats and runners are lovely.
Have a good day everyone.?

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire. It feels like it’s been raining for ever!

Beautiful runner and mats Mattie.
Belated happy anniversary to you Ash, have a wonderful evening.

We have friends coming over this evening for the first time in ages, also other friends who are viewing a house nearby said they would call in to see us. Sod’s Law that I’ve still got the lurgy and feel like doing nothing more than sleeping.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton; hoping it clears up by this afternoon as I am off to the rugby. A big match today, the Midlands derby, against our local rivals Leicester. Must make sure I am wearing my team shirt and lucky socks! I have a hotpot thawing out in the fridge ready to pop in the oven when I get back and will enjoy it with a glass of red, win or lose.

DGD is still asleep in bed, but I am poised to make bacon butties when she surfaces. Gone are the days when the girls were waking at 6am (thank goodness!). Mum is picking her up at lunchtime.

Beautiful runner and mats, grandMattie, you are indeed very talented.

Have a good day everyone.

Mapleleaf Sat 30-Oct-21 08:54:04

Good morning all,

A drizzly, breezy morning today. Feels a little cooler, too.

Must remember to put the clocks back tonight. It really will feel like autumn now, with the darker evenings.

A lovely table runner and mats, grandMattie. You are very talented.

Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning from a very dark start to the day those blackout curtains do the trick. I’m peeking out now and the curtains have falsified the outdoors. Am I bovered? Not really.

It’ll continue to be a jammy day one more time. Can’t think when I last remained in jammys apart from yesterday and it was just heavenly.

I’ll not be venturing anywhere at least not with my jammys on. I’m not a person who ventures outside with jammys on.

Have a good Saturday all ye who have adventures today.
