White rabbits ???
Good morning from a bright I sh E Kent. We had the wind and rain yesterday morning, a very bright afternoon. I suspect today will return to its dry, grey gloomy usual self.
My quince jelly didn’t set ☹️ So I shall have to reboil it.
Cleaning and bits and bits today. I’ve finished my runner and have now started the totes DGD ordered.
May today be kind to everyone, and everyone be kind to themselves. Carpe diem. ??????

Scentia Mon 01-Nov-21 06:15:42

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it rather windy ?
I haven’t posted for a while but I am still around, obviously!
I have been so very busy and it is generally very early mornings at the factory so don’t get to my phone until late.
Urms prompted me to post today though.
The most interesting thing is that I am running a 1 woman campaign against our housing developer because of the mess they have left our estate in as they vacated last year. I am becoming a well known person in this town, I have meetings with our MP (I will have to point out that I did not, and will not EVER vote Tory) just as soon as she agrees to take my petition to parliament?
I have joined our Parish Council and I am also hosting a sale at the end of November in aid of Staffordshire Women’s Aid
No wonder I am having to go into work at 5am!!!
I am a little behind on all of your news but will soon catch up if I pop in every morning.
I do hope you all have the best day possible and did not miss my smile too much?

Good morning from the NE.
Today we say our final goodbye to DH.
We are having a small family service without a wake.

Sar53 Mon 01-Nov-21 07:00:11

Good morning from Essex by the sea.
We arrived home yesterday after a 4.5 hour journey from Cardiff in heavy rain.
My eldest daughter and her middle daughter both have covid. Her eldest, who has had covid and is now testing negative goes back to school today but is still suffering the after effects.
DH is having his booster this morning, I have to wait another week and still no sign of the flu vaccine.
Housework and washing today.
Welcome back Scentia.
Have the best Monday you can and stay safe everyone xx

Scentia Mon 01-Nov-21 07:00:35

harri I am terribly sorry to hear this, my thoughts are with you today❤️

Beechnut Mon 01-Nov-21 07:00:50

Good Morning everyone from the Cotswolds. I haven’t looked out of the window yet, I am hoping it is dry. My journey to Beechnutella yesterday was awful with water on the roads. I don’t know about going over to electric cars, I think boats would have been appropriate.

You have been busy Scentia and it’s nice to see you back.

Not sure what I will do today apart from go home. I might stop off at a Hobbycraft.

Have a good day all and pinch punch ?

Sar53 Mon 01-Nov-21 07:00:56

Thinking of you and your family today Harrigran xx

grandMattie Mon 01-Nov-21 07:01:08

My poor harrigran, how I feel for you! Hope all goes well, and that you stay strong! ❤️

Urmstongran Mon 01-Nov-21 07:02:36

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry at present, not windy and I can see the Pennines over to the east. Not that weather conditions will have any bearing on my day as we are over in half an hour to mind L’il Miss for the day and we will be staying in, cosy while she takes another day of antibiotics. Although getting better she isn’t ready for the busyness of school just yet.

Lovely to see you back Scentia my goodness you’ve been busy no wonder you went AWOL for a while! Good luck with your campaign. Harrigran hope the day goes as well as it can dear lady. ?

Beechnut Mon 01-Nov-21 07:03:47

I will think of you today harri ?

Good morning and happy White Rabbits day from a bright and very windy Northampton. We had terrible rain and a very high wind yesterday which brought down several trees around the town and county. I have never seen rain and a wind like it; some described it as a tornado.

A productive day yesterday; made my mince pies for Christmas, and while I was at it and the oven was on, made a batch of Yorkshire puddings for the freezer. Had one last night with my roast dinner, and also tried a mince pie afterwards. Remaining mince pies now in the freezer. DD has also requested sausage rolls so shall do those on my next free Sunday.

Off to yoga this morning, then a few odd jobs to do, and email my youngest sister whose birthday is today. She, at 67, is the baby of the family, the youngest of 5. (I am the oldest!)

Hoping today is kind to us all.

Good morning, everyone, from a breezy Torbay.

So good to hear from you Scentia and well done on your campaign; all power to your elbow! Good luck with the sale, too. This is all the more impressive when you’re working, too.
grandMattie sounds as busy as ever and I hope Mick enjoys some good holiday breaks..

Thank you all for your concern and helpful advice yesterday, including one kind gran who sent a PM outlining a similar experience. I was pleased I went to church yesterday where people were most welcoming and concerned. I will keep you posted on developments.

For the first time in the seven years I’ve lived here, we were targeted by Hallowe’en mischief makers last night and an egg was thrown at our living room window. I was shaken but very glad to have the reassuring and calming presence of olddudders. I have reported it on 101 online, not least because this area has seen more police activity lately than ever before. I have also requested an extra visit from the window cleaners, employed by the company which manages the block.

Today I hope to go to “Move It or Lose It” where it is possible to participate whilst seated if necessary. Last Monday, I missed it whilst waiting six hours for a GP to ring!

I hope your DD and DGD soon recover, Sar53 and my thoughts and prayers will be with harrigran today. I hope you find comfort from the support of family and friends and the service itself. ???

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s quite bright and dry this morning
Thinking of you today harrigran and sending hugs and support
I’m travelling back home to Inverness today after a really lovely few days at DD1 house. A long train journey on a direct train from London but it should be straightforward enough and DH will pick me up tonight from the station.
Lovely to see you back Scentia!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Pittcity Mon 01-Nov-21 07:16:28

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Bright, dry and chilly is how I like it.
DIY shopping today as DH is starting on the lounge.
Love to all, especially Harrigan ?? xx

Gingster Mon 01-Nov-21 07:16:49

Good morning and we’re back in Essex. We miss the sea but it’s nice to be back near family and friends. ❤️.
The journey home yesterday was horrendous with very strong winds and monsoon type rain at times. Traffic was very slow at one point as a lake had formed across the A12 . Our warning light then came on, telling us to check our tyre pressure. Dh had only taken the car in 2 weeks ago as the light had come on then. The pressures were ok , just needed a little adjustment. We were pleased to arrive back safe and sound.

No trick or treaters - I had a bowl of sweets ready and I couldn’t resist pinching a chewy one. Of course I’ve now broken a tooth on it. I’ve got to find a dentist as my last one closed down and I haven’t been for a couple of years (at least). Hate them! ?

Lovely to ‘see’ scentia back. Omg you have been a busy lady. Good luck with your campaigning.

Thinking of Harrigran today ?

Wishing you all a ‘GOOD Day’. ????

Marydoll Mon 01-Nov-21 07:21:39

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow. Good to hear you are looking to book more holidays Mick

Lovely to see you back, Scentia, what a busy woman you are!

GMI'm so relieved that your quince jelly did not set, I am in good company!! wink. It cannot be you nor I to blame as we are seasoned jam veterns. Shall we blame the sugar? ?

Ash, I hope you are feeling a bit better.

My thoughts are with you today Harri, It will be so hard for you, but you have the comfort of knowing how loved you were and that you too showed your love, in the way you took care of your beloved husband. May you and your family have the strength to get through this day. ?

aggie Mon 01-Nov-21 07:25:00

Good Morning everyone ,
Thinking of you and your family today harrigran

kittylester Mon 01-Nov-21 07:35:30

Good morning all from a brightening North Leicestershire.

Thinking of you today harri and sending love and strength.

Today, i am hoping to find something to wear for DD3's wedding. What the heck does one wear to a very understated wedding, just before Christmas, where DH and I will be the only guests and the photos are being done outside? Wish me luck.

ginny Mon 01-Nov-21 07:36:30

Good morning all. A much nicer morning here in N. Bucks. The sun has made an appearance too. DH is happy about that as he can go to golf.
It’s Christmas pudding mixing day for me and I’ll make a bath of pastry to freeze ready for sausage rolls and mince pies.
If the weather lasts I’ll have a short walk later.
Thoughts with all who have troubles of any kind and for Harrigran and family today.

cornergran Mon 01-Nov-21 07:36:33

Morning Mick, morning All. A showery start to our corner of Somerset after torrential rain. Still very windy

Yesterday was quiet, a catch up faffing sort of a day. Off to town this morning, some errands and donations to drop off at a charity shop. Hope we don’t get too wet. Must finish the ,grocery order then spend time helping our goddaughter with a plan of action. Should space remains it will be on with researching a hoped for holiday based in Cambridge next Spring.

I’ll be thinking of you today harri, my love to you and your family. Good to see you Scentia, goodness you’ve been busy.

Take care everyone. Hope Monday is gentle with us all.

Jaxjacky Mon 01-Nov-21 07:43:33

Good morning from a clear, calm S Hants after yesterday’s wind and rain.
Good to have trips planned Mick. What a busy bee Scentia good luck ?.
Trip to the pharmacy later, then some gardening.
Sending strength and hugs harrigran on this most difficult of days x

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 01-Nov-21 07:44:31

Good morning all from soggy wet Harrogate
We didn’t have any guisers last night either, so what will I do with the sweets I had for them?
DGSs party ? was led by two entertainers which the children immensely enjoyed, they entertained the children with the adventures of Jack and the Beanstalk! My baking went down a treat too!
Scentia I’m not surprised you haven’t had time to post, be careful you don’t burn yourself out !
Hugs to Harrigran flowers
Have the best day you can.
