Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , but dry and less windy this morning, but could be colder outside here in Brackley.
Today, small shop etc , nothing spectacular planned , I think my phone problem is a mute one , and hopefully I have unmuted it so people can hear me on the phone.
Must have pressed the wrong key in error over the weekend last.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from dry Harrogate
Glad to hear your knee problems have been resolved cornergran
Lovely baby scentia how old is she?
Yesterday went into town to take stuff to the charity shops- brought more stuff home! Tried to buy sheets on the M&S website - what a palaver, I’ll go in this morning and buy them in the shop!
Sorry to hear your sister is having problems Harrigran hope you are feeling better though.
Have a great day all

Good morning from a chilly North Wales.
I will head out to the shops soon to stock up after my weekend away.
My DS has this cold that is going around. Seems to be a really nasty cold this year making people quite ill.
Have a good Wednesday everyone and thinking of those who aren't having a good time just now.

Glad my little GD is bringing a smile to our group, not sure how the picture got on here? it’s funny because when I want to post a picture it never appears. Could have been worse I have a photo of my mole on my tummy which could have been the one picked by my fat fingers???
Just listening to the news of the little Australian toddler Cleo Smith who has been found 18 days after being abducted❤️

I'm defrosting my car so I can go to work. Has been white over the past few days. I suspect it's almost winter.....

Urmstongran Wed 03-Nov-21 08:18:50

Thank you GrandmaDinosour we are both sat watching a film right now ... ‘Stuart Little’. Actually I’m enjoying it.
We’ve already done some colouring.
It’s like being in a parallel universe with littlies isn’t it? ?
It’s not even 8:30am yet.
Units of time ... ?

DanniRae Wed 03-Nov-21 08:19:59

What a lovely, smiley baby!
I googled the two types of artichokes as I didn't know anything about them. I was surprised that Jerusalem artichokes are from the sunflower family and you only eat the roots.
Is it artichokes that make your wee smell? My information on google didn't say about that.......confused

Good morning, all, from a sunny but chilly Torbay. Four degrees!

A beautiful photo, Scentia to raise our spirits.

How awful for your sister, harrigran, with a stepdaughter so poorly! So hard for her children. And it must be difficult with your overseas sister being unable to travel, too. It’s good to know you have some family members nearby who are able to help at a time when I imagine you have much paper work requiring attention.

Glad you have encouraging news about your knee, cornergran. It sounds as if you’ve been a model patient! I’m glad you have the scan behind you and it gave some reassurance, Susan56.

Happy anniversary, Jaxjacky - I hope the Dorset break is fun, ?????

Wishing you all some sunshine, literally or metaphorically! ?☀️???

Good morning everyone from an overcast but less windy Northampton. Had a lovely walk in autumn sunshine yesterday afternoon with our group. Found out that our walk leader had a heart attack two weeks ago, but he was back yesterday leading the walk as usual!

A morning of odd jobs, getting tonight's (home-made) dinner out of the freezer and other things, before lunch. Then off out to our well-being cafe where I shall happily sit, knit and chat for the afternoon. I did the tricky bit of my knitting yesterday, picking up stitches for the button band, and am now on the sleeves which are fairly straightforward to do while partaking of coffee and cake...... I shall make up for the cake by walking there and back, 25 minutes each way.

Wishes to all for a good day.

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, its only 2° here, but the sun is shining. There is no rain forecast, so the washing will be going out.

I have no plans for the day, as yesterday's outing has left me pretty wiped out. Mr MDoll performed true to form. What part of Wait here, do not move, did he not understand? He kept disappearing in Asda and I was becoming more and more frustrated.
Just like the our remote control, he insisted in taking charge of the scanning handset. I spent ages removing multiple items, we hadn't actually purchased. ?
My plan had been to use him to get some of the heavier items, which I can't carry. There is a shortage here of PepsiMax, (I know, a minor worry, in the light of others' troubles) which I drink, so I was hoping to find some. DH went off to look, came back saying there was none.

After paying for my shopping, I spotted stacks and stacks, piled up at the checkout. You couldn't miss them!
I sent DH to the car, after having asked him to lift them into another trolley and said I would get another self scanner and wouldn't be long. Oh how wrong I was!
The system said I had already used self scan and couldn't have another handset. ?
So instead, off I trundled to the self checkout, without obtaining a handset. The trays of Pepsi wouldn't scan, then I found the most unhelpful assistant I have ever experienced! I explained the trays wouldn't scan, also said I was having problems holding the trays. Nope, I had to do it myself.

When did I become this feeble old lady, who previously, had rarely asked for support from anyone? By this time I was really breathless and near to tears. Mr MDoll and was nowhere to be seen.
It wasn't being unable to scan that upset me, it was the realisation that I am going downhill and have no control over my failing body.
I'm sure I am not the only one on here, who feels like that. However, it was such a sad (self pitying moment and wallowing) revelation for me. I have always been so resilient.
By the way, I have given myself a big shake and am fine this morning. I have my husband at my side , when others do not. and I should cherish that.
I oThe main purpose of DH accompanying me was to drop off the charity bags. Instead of moving his car, (there is a disabled space outside it) he said he would just walk over with them and I could just wait in the carH . emptied the boot, locked the car and walked away, WITH THE KEYS leaving me standing in the middle of the Asda car park, locked out!
I knew I should have gone out alone!
To cap it all, we spent wasted so much time in Home Bargains (not my fault!), that there was no time to look in B&M, Matalan and my beloved TKMaxx, as per my usual routine. I haven't been out for ages and was so looking forward to it, as I fear I am becoming institutionalised to some extent. Does anyone know a good divorce lawyer. wink

I haven't read any posts, so that is my next task.
Baubles' sad news struck a cord with me yesterday, I kept thinking of that sad family and Harri, who has now to face life without her beloved husband.
Susan, I hope yesterday wasn't too distressing and that all the Covid sufferers are improving.

I will be back later......perhaps. Probably just better to read, rather than post these days. Its safer that way. wink

Marydoll Wed 03-Nov-21 08:36:31

There is something wrong with my tablet, it won't allow me to delete errors on GN. Sorry, folks!

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

aggie Wed 03-Nov-21 08:38:53

Good morning, pink and blue sky out there , and it is decidedly chilly
This moving the hour back and forward is crackers! My Garden clock is still at Summer time , but I managed to get the others onto GMT, but the tv is defeating me ! The programme banner is showing summer time so I nearly missed Strictly results , mind you I wondered why it was advertised as being on so late !

Good morning from a bright and frosty Colchester.

Missing our weekly coffee meetup to wait in for a repair person. Dryer part of washer dryer is playing up and it's only 8 months old. Customer service can give date but not time. No use leaving DH in charge as he throws laundry in the basket and it magically appears clean in his wardrobe a few days later!!!! He has therefore gone fishing.

The lounge ceiling wasn't even started yesterday as he was side tracked by other things but he promises it will be done tomorrow.

Happy anniversary Mr and Mrs Jaxjacky and love to all xx

PollyTickle Wed 03-Nov-21 08:43:23

Good morning Mick and all from a dry and bright Anglesey. Glad the phone problem is resolved Mick, good to be heard.
Happy anniversary to Mr and Mrs Jax, enjoy your trip.
Hope that horrid flu is easing Dragonfly and thank you for yesterday’s reassurance. Same to all of you.
Lovely little one Scentia, your busyness exhausts me, would be happy with half your energy levels.
Quiet day for us, bit of paperwork, a walk and a maybe a game of scrabble.
So much excitement.
Wishing all of you kind and lovely goodmorningers a flamingo filled day???

Good morning Mick, morning all from bright and sunny South Lanarkshire. Yesterday was a beautiful autumn day and today is looking to be the same.

Our little granddaughter was back to her self yesterday so I wasn’t needed. Had a couple of walks, enjoying the glorious weather. Today will be much the same I think and the daft dog has an appointment at the groomers, she seems to be quite relaxed there, the young woman is so good with her canine clients.

Gorgeous little one Scentia.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ??

multicolourswapshop Wed 03-Nov-21 08:46:19

Thank you Scentia for posting this beautiful picture of the wee baby, and good morning all. I couldn’t believe thesunshine lighting up the house this morning. I thought someone had left the lights on overnight, but it’s the sunshine pushing itself in, unbelievable shockThere’s himself on the phone to Sky again, for some reason we’ve had a struggling connection and we’re both getting very frustrated. We’ve even had a lady engineer in recently and thought all was fixed. We’ll just have to get this fixed or else go elsewhere angry

For those who are sad and unhappy today lots of hugs and warm wishes may your day turn out as bright as this sunshine ? flowers

Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Jax. You are still in the first flush ?.

Susan am I right in thinking you are in Shropshire. Wasn’t that where thousands of Covid tests were had the wrong result? I keep doing rapid flows and still negative.

hollysteers Wed 03-Nov-21 09:16:56

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside, Lancashire coast.
On the bus today into town for piano recital at lunchtime with jab appointment after that.
Stomach calming down thank goodness. Was unable to get good old fashion Milk of Magnesia in three chemists. Looks like Gaviscon has taken over.
Really enjoyed singing at our music club yesterday and home made cakes and biscuits by non singing member.
DD still here and catching up with friends and making me a cup of tea in the morning.
I trapped the cat in the sitting room last night, thinking she was not there.
Sorry for your troubles harrigran and happy anniversary to the Jaxs’

Urmstongran Wed 03-Nov-21 09:17:30

I think Scentia’s photo is of her grandSON?? ?

GrannySomerset Wed 03-Nov-21 09:26:20

Now then, Urmston, just because you are on nursery duty we ought not to resort to playground jokes! Sorry, am a bit sensitive to wee jokes this morning as have already changed DH and his bedding and loaded the washing machine with the first of three loads. Not a good start, and without so much as a mouthful of tea first, so am grumpy. Back still painful and am at a loss to know what to do - really need a week in respite care for DH to give things a chance but he won’t at present even discuss it.

Still, compared with Marydoll I have minor problems and at least the sun is shining. So pleased that Corner passed her knee exam - really worth doing the exercises to get a good result. Mine are ten years down the line and still giving good service.

Am in envious awe of Scentia’s energy and love the baby picture. Hope the poorly feel better soon and that we have a good enough day. I must get DH up and ready to face the world and our financial adviser who is coming to explain things to me so that I can plan DH’s future care in the best way I can. Finance is so not my thing so I hope for simple explanations that I can understand.
