Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , but dry and less windy this morning, but could be colder outside here in Brackley.
Today, small shop etc , nothing spectacular planned , I think my phone problem is a mute one , and hopefully I have unmuted it so people can hear me on the phone.
Must have pressed the wrong key in error over the weekend last.
Take Care,
Mick

She does say GD Urms!

Jaxjacky Wed 03-Nov-21 09:30:43

DannieRae Jérusalem artichokes cause an excess of flatulence (f***ichokes).

Susan56 Wed 03-Nov-21 09:33:07

dragonfly, yes we are in Shropshire.Luckily our tests were not in the time stated for the inaccurate results although I am now thinking we should probably do another test?

dragonfly46 Wed 03-Nov-21 09:33:51

GrannySomerset so sorry your day got off to such a bad start. It might be worth visiting those places where they offer respite care. They might have suggestions as to how your DH could be persuaded.

Marydoll Wed 03-Nov-21 09:36:15

GrannySomerset, thank you for your kind words. However, I think I have a less difficult time than you. I admire you so much! ?

hulahoop Wed 03-Nov-21 09:36:18

Happy Anniversary to the jax,s have a lovely break ??

Jaxjacky Wed 03-Nov-21 09:44:41

Thank you all, will post pictures, looking forward to fireworks Friday night on Poole Quay.
GrannySomerset good idea of dragonflies you know help is needed, it must be so difficult, I have no idea, but can feel your frustration x

Urmstongran Wed 03-Nov-21 09:48:02

Oh GrandmaSomerset I think all of us on here admire you immensely. I think we all must think ‘there but for the grace’ really. I am not surprised to hear you get grumpy sometimes. Certain situations must try the patience of a saint, which none of us are and tiredness and weariness adds to the mix.

Good luck keeping up with your financial adviser. Pay attention in case questions are asked and you get given homework.

We are taking turns to play tunes on the electronic keyboard now. I’ve just played ‘oh can you wash your father’s shirt oh can you wash it clean, oh can you wash your father’s shirt and show it to the Queen?’ ? ? I have seriously impressed ‘L’il Miss’ but then again she is only 4y.

Good morning from sunny W Kent, off to meet a friend for coffee and to sort the world out.
Very best wishes to all. flowers

PollyTickle Wed 03-Nov-21 09:53:48

GrannySomerset, can I just second what Urms has said. flowers

Sar53 Wed 03-Nov-21 09:54:06

I've just heard that 6 year old granddaughter has covid, that's my daughter and three granddaughters. SIL is still testing negative, PCR test yesterday.
What a poorly household !!!!

PollyTickle Wed 03-Nov-21 10:04:18

Oh dear Sar, wishing her a mild dose and a speedy recovery. Hope they’re all better soon.

EkwaNimitee Wed 03-Nov-21 10:04:20

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
Yesterday saw the early delivery of a chest of drawers to a bedroom. It did not go well...after I'd unpacked it I found the drawers were faulty, if you pulled one out the one above sagged down at one side. Then it was a wrestling match to push the drawer back in again. I couldn't rectify the problem so called customer care and found a very patient gent on the phone who waited while I struggled to upload the relevant photos. The upshot is that a new one is coming on Friday. Thank goodness! For most of their stuff delivery dates are on 15-17 weeks away.
I've been forking over my new border, bringing the original soil up to mix with the gritty stuff imported by the developer. I have an order of currant bushes which will arrive soon I hope. It's a long time since I've seen black and redcurrants for sale and I like to make pots of jelly with them.
That's a lovely contented-looking baby Scentia.
Happy anniversary to you and DH, Jaxjacky, have a good time.
GrannySomerset, Marydoll and all who are struggling , I wish you a better day.

CherryCezzy Wed 03-Nov-21 10:15:51

Good morning all from sunshiny Gower.

Sorry to hear that your scan results gave you mixed results Susan, since your left eye proved to be better than thought the right one will very likely improve ?

Happy Anniversary Mr&MrsJax, I hope you have a wonderful break ??

My appointment went well and preliminary results look clear ?

Sorry to hear that many of you and/or family have this dreadful cold/flu that's going around or have family members with covid, flowers all round.

As someone else said - early days harrigran, you are still in my thoughts x

Nannytopsy Wed 03-Nov-21 10:17:13

That’s bad news Sar - I hope they all recover soon.
GrannySomerset I wish we could materialise in your house to help out. A GN rota!

GrannySomerset Wed 03-Nov-21 10:20:09

What a lovely thought, NannyTopsy! All kind thoughts are much appreciated as I stare in horror at the pile of paperwork which I need to understand. No wonder I failed O level maths all those decades ago.

CherryCezzy Wed 03-Nov-21 10:21:12

GrannySomerset ?. If you can by some means persuade your DH to spend some time in respite - some have brochures and can be very nice places. Maybe get a brochure or two x

Grandmadinosaur Wed 03-Nov-21 10:38:57

Happy Anniversary Jaxjacky and Mr J have a lovely time away.

Sar that’s not good news . Hope the family aren’t too poorly with it.
Take care today Marydoll after your exploits yesterday.
I am currently in the city centre having a pit stop for coffee. I have just been in our Primark who have some lovely things in store for Christmas. I know it’s early but I find if with Primark if you don’t get things when you see them it’s too late.
Well coffee finished of to the 2 shops I really came for ?
Take care all.

gillgran Wed 03-Nov-21 11:23:27

A late good morning from me but I have been to church?!

Urms I remember singing that song in a school concert aged about 5 but the words I recall are ‘Oh can you wash a sailors shirt, oh can you wash it clean, oh can you wash a sailors shirt and hang it on the green’
Probably another verse, but to tell the truth my main memory is of standing up while everyone else was still kneeling down!
I blame that for my lifelong horror of performing in public!!

?GrannySomerset and good wishes to all???

grandMattie Wed 03-Nov-21 11:45:20

DanniRae

What a lovely, smiley baby!
I googled the two types of artichokes as I didn't know anything about them. I was surprised that Jerusalem artichokes are from the sunflower family and you only eat the roots.
Is it artichokes that make your wee smell? My information on google didn't say about that.......confused

No, it’s asparagus that makes your wee smell of drains! The Jerusalem version of the veg is often called “fartichoke”for obvious reasons. ?

grandMattie Wed 03-Nov-21 11:48:30

Urmstongran

Do you have smelly wee then grandMattie? Do share.
?????

Only when I eat asparagus in th3 spring! ??????

whywhywhy Wed 03-Nov-21 11:49:36

Heavy cloud today with drizzly rain. Not doing much today but might start a knitted cardigan for myself. Take care all and stay safe.

grandMattie Wed 03-Nov-21 11:51:17

Sorry *grannySomerset”, the jokes are in bad taste - I hadn’t read any further when I commented…. Many apologies.
