Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , but dry and less windy this morning, but could be colder outside here in Brackley.
Today, small shop etc , nothing spectacular planned , I think my phone problem is a mute one , and hopefully I have unmuted it so people can hear me on the phone.
Must have pressed the wrong key in error over the weekend last.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dark E Kent. I hope today unfolds as beautiful an autumn day as yesterday!
Glad you’ve solved your phone problems, Mick.
Last night we ate the very last globe artichokes. They were delicious. We have about 10 plants dotted around the very small garden partly because DH likes to grow them from seed, and partly because I find them very architectural and love the leaves.
Today, I’m going to the hygienist. We may go to check on Philip’s house. The insurance conditions are that we visit once a week…
I think I’ll make a chicken tagine for dinner, I love couscous, but DH doesn’t. ?
May today bring sunshine ☀️ into your lives and lift any burdens. Carpe diem. ?????

Morning Mock and all

Pinky washed Sky here in S E Essex.

Off to the gym this morning, but first it’s bed changing and washing machine on. Need to sort out a plethora of parcels which arrived at work for me yesterday, by having a quick look I think there are duplicates!!

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Beechnut Wed 03-Nov-21 07:06:12

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. The sky is pink. It’s dry and cool.
I’m glad you’ve sorted your phone Mick.

I must remember to message my brother today, head like a sieve yesterday afternoon ?
After breakfast I’ll decide whether to go out and look for a sweeping brush and maybe a garden centre visit and do my best not to buy anything. I already have some plants in pots that need a permanent home.

Chicken for me too Mattie.
Take care all ??

Urmstongran Wed 03-Nov-21 07:07:10

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and seems milder. We are off out again to mind L’il Miss for the day. Hopefully she’s turned a corner, last day of antibiotics and might be in school tomorrow. A nice short week for her.

I think I’m starting with toothache in a molar but as I’m a devout coward I’m going to ignore it and see how things go.

Glad you got your phone sorted Mick. Bet that surprised you. I’ve never bought or eaten artichokes grandMattie their appearance puts me off!

Enjoy Wednesday all who can. Hope your eye test went better than you feared yesterday Susan56. x

kittylester Wed 03-Nov-21 07:10:39

Good morning all from a chilly but dry North Leicestershire.

Carer's course for me this morning. DH will drive me as we are still without my car. There is a shortage of parts apparently.

Wolfie was lively but tiring yesterday

Lovely to see harri yesterday.

grandMattie Wed 03-Nov-21 07:12:31

Urms, globe artichokes are delicious. It’s a shame you haven’t tried them. They are called “alcachofa” in Spanish: very popular in Andalusia. I really don’t like Jerusalem artichokes. Quite a different kettle of fish!

Sar53 Wed 03-Nov-21 07:13:28

Good morning everyone from a frosty but bright Essex by the sea.
DH will spend the day working on his boat, I have ironing, bed changing and washing to do. I will also make a shepherd's pie for dinner.
Have the best Wednesday you can and stay safe and well everyone xx

cornergran Wed 03-Nov-21 07:14:20

Morning Mick, morning All. A calm clear start to our corner of Somerset.

Yesterday went better than I could have hoped. The surgeon was more than pleased with the knee. Gold stars all round. Reassured about my niggling concerns there will be a further appointment in a year to check all remains well. I’ve been so lucky with this process, NHS at it’s best. Onwards now.

Busy day today. Grocery delivery, plumber to sort the kitchen tap, ironing and dust removal. Chilli from the freezer for our meal.

Thinking of all with heavy hearts this morning. Take care everyone. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

Urmstongran Wed 03-Nov-21 07:16:18

Thanks for that info grandMattie. One day perhaps I’ll be brave enough! Ditto prawns, calamari, mussels, aubergines, most Chinese dishes... I didn’t used to think I was a fussy eater either!

harrigran Wed 03-Nov-21 07:17:31

Good morning from a dry NE.
SIL bought a new printer for me and set it up yesterday, so much paper work to print out and copy that old one was giving up the ghost.
My sister rang last night, it was a very sad call as she has not been able to visit the UK for two years. She was very upset about DH and she has such terrible back pain that travel is impossible.
My younger sister's stepdaughter and family have covid, they refused the vaccine. SD has been in hospital twice and has lung damage, she has four children who very nearly lost their mother.
Take care everyone.

brook2704 Wed 03-Nov-21 07:19:29

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark but I can hear the rain outside
Today I’m off to the Aqua class at the gym for a splash around and then we’ll be collecting the DGC after school as they’re coming for their tea and staying for a sleepover tonight. I’ve got to think of something to cook later, maybe chicken for all of us too
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Scentia Wed 03-Nov-21 07:21:34

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it feels cool, I want a pink sky?
Had a great day yesterday but never got round to clearing the play room as daddy came home early and he weould not be as free with the donations of toys as DD so I will do it another day?
Off to work shortly then I really must go shopping and I still need cable ties for my posters!
DGS is still a bit off after his flu vaccine and it is a week today, he had a nap yesterday afternoon which is very unusual and asked to go to bed at 5pm?
It’s good the phone is sorted for you Michael, it’s not good when you can’t be heard in any situation❤️
Hope everyone has a good day and finds something that will bring a smile to your face.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 03-Nov-21 07:26:13

Good morning all. It’s a damp start in East Yorkshire.
I haven’t tried artichokes either grandmattie perhaps I should.

Yesterday the man came to collect our dining set that I had given away on a neighbourhood website. I was under the impression our new ones were coming on the 6th of this month. DH had all documentation on e mail and when he came home from work and checked it isn’t until the 18th. I had got date and month mixed up as we are also getting a matching dresser but that is here on the 6th .... of January ?‍♂️. Oh well to be honest we only sit at the table to eat on Sundays so not the end of the world!
Today I might pop into town. I could do with some new bedding. I also have a hair appointment at 1.30.
Great news for you cornergran you must be relieved .
Glad your little one is on the mend Urmstongran

Have a good day and take care.

ginny Wed 03-Nov-21 07:28:15

Good morning everyone from a slightly frosty N. Bucks.
Have two deliveries arriving early this morning so better get myself downstairs as DH is at golf
DD3 is off to an exercise class so I will enjoy looking after DGS3 for an hour or so.
Craft club this afternoon. The lady who was coming to do some clay work with us is I’ll so I have had to quickly put together a project.
This evening is our WI AGM and fish & chip supper.
Wishing you all a good day with a smile along the way.

DanniRae Wed 03-Nov-21 07:30:38

Good Morning to Everyone. I must get up to date with my washing today. The laundry basket is sat - full - in the kitchen I just have to put it in the machine. Why is this a problem? "Answers on a postcard" as they used to say on tv before it all became so high tech!
A friend is coming this afternoon for a cuppa and a chat. We see each other most days - dog walking - but on Wednesday we get to actually sit down and chat.
Have a good day Everyone and lots of love to those who are troubled x

Gingster Wed 03-Nov-21 07:35:41

Good morning all and it’s chilly but bright-skyed here in Essex.

I’m another who has never tried globe artichokes. What would I do with them ? How would I cook them and what to have with them? ?.

Hope your toothache disappears Urms. I broke a tooth at the weekend and I’m still flapping about going to the dentist. It doesn’t hurt so I’m trying to ignore it. What a woose!

Today I will meet my two old school pals at Stratford Olympic park. We will have coffee, then have a walk through the park and have lunch in our usual restaurant. It will be a chatty affair! Lovely!

Dh says he’s going fishing today. I’m sure he catches the same ‘whopper’ each time he goes (the photo looks identical to the last. ??.

Harrigran - take it easy. Early days. ?

Have the best day you can. ????

Grandmadinosaur Wed 03-Nov-21 07:36:07

What a gorgeous little girl Scentia*

dragonfly46 Wed 03-Nov-21 07:39:32

Good morning it is not as bright here as yesterday. Not that it makes much difference as I am still confined to the house with what must be flu. Fortunately I have amazing friends who are running around for us. My DH is in his third week.

The Covid family so far are less poorly than us!

So sorry to hear your sister is unable to visit Harrigran I hope her back improves soon. It sounds as if you have a wonderful family.

Beautiful baby Scentia she cheered me up this morning.
Mattie I prefer Jerusalem artichokes ?

Wishing everyone a good day.

Greyduster Wed 03-Nov-21 07:39:41

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A dreary start to the day in South Yorkshire. Certainly not what was forecast at the moment. We have an early hospital appointment this morning so we are not hanging around. I will look in to catch up later.
Have a good day one and all.

Grandmajean Wed 03-Nov-21 07:49:31

Lovely tot , Scentia
Need to get out for a walk today. Have been lazy while the weather has been so miserable.
Another one here who has never eaten an artichoke of any kind ! I do like prawns , though ,Urmstongran !
Enjoy your GC Brook
Hope the day brings some little pleasures to all.

Jaxjacky Wed 03-Nov-21 07:58:39

Good morning all from a bright frosty S Hants. I once barred my husband from called me on my mobile Mick! Glad yours is sorted. I too like the globe artichokes grandMattie Jerusalem ones have other ‘attributes’?.
It’s our 14th wedding anniversary today, 22 years together, we’re off to Dorset for a few days, looking dry and chilly.
May you all have the best day. harrigran thoughts with you.

Nannytopsy Wed 03-Nov-21 08:08:05

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Our bit of Suffolk is misty with a frost this morning.
MOT this morning then planting in the ground I cleared yesterday. Then the gardening will be done! Apart from the ongoing jobs ?
I hope all the poorly children are on the mend, along with those of you with the awful cold/flu.
Let the day be kind to us all.

Susan56 Wed 03-Nov-21 08:09:07

Good morning from Shropshire.

Thanks Urms. The scan was painless yesterday.Looks like a slight improvement in the right eye, left eye not so good?will hear from the consultant within three weeks??

Urms, I didn’t think I was a fussy eater but am vegetarian and the only fish I eat is salmon fillet from M and S, all the others smell too fishy!I am also diabetic.I actually must be a nightmare guest?

Today is cleaning and laundry, also going to practice the cupcakes for DGD’s birthday in a couple of weeks. She wants them decorated like cats.DH has an idea so I will make the cakes and icing and he can decorate.
