So before setting off on today’s hike, I have applied a full face of make up. Husband waiting impatiently as we should have left ages ago. My excuse, well you never know who you might meet.
Made it to the pub???Didn’t see anyone I knew, no mountain rescue or paramedics needed thank the Lord! I think the sheep, red squirrels and other ramblers appreciated that I had made the effort though!
Long hot soak now, stretchies on and make up off. ?
Always wear full make up , took a class once on how to wear full make up and still look like it’s what Nature gave you, but better. Best money I ever spent as I look scary ‘au naturel’?
NotAGran, hope you are on the mend! I have been in hospital on a fair number of occasions and although not bothered about make up, while there, my hospital bag now contains a couple of sports bras!
I am freckly skinned I don’t wear makeup I have to pencil eyebrows I lost mine through stress. I usually wear lipstick but haven’t since COVID I don’t see the point still wearing a mask. If wearing makeup makes you feel good go for it.
I fell and broke my leg in two places a few years ago. I was the talk of the hospital because I was going on holiday to the Caribbean the next day and had had my hair done and gel nails done on hands and feet that morning - a very glamorous patient!
Unfortunately, because it was the day before my holiday, I was wearing some tatty underwear, which was exposed to the public gaze when I had to have my greying, frayed knickers cut off me. The shame! ? ?
I only wear make up for work. IF I could get away with leaving the camera off (work online) I'd not even bother then. TBH, I only wear the make up to make me look a bit younger. Don't want to get aged out of my job! Easier to fake it on camera.
I feel much better with makeup Elizabeth and put it on for that reason and also to feel I look better when facing the world, but it’s for me not for them, self respect if you like.
me three,i dont want to scare people so i always wear it every day whether im going out or staying in.The one time i didnt that day loads of people called in on me and all asked the same question"was i ill as i looked rough"!!
Part of my problem is that I am so pale, I look as if I am seriously ill, if I don't wear make up. It has caused concern, when I have been a patient in hospital and have to confirm, that's how I always look.
I once called an ambulance for a neighbour. When the paramedics arrived they approached me and asked what the problem was. I had to explain that it was my permanently, fake tanned neighbour, who was the patient.
