Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark ,but dry and cold looking outside this morning.
Today , I plan to put the silk flowers on parents graves for the winter period plus small tidy up using the bus of course .
Then a easy day indoors for the rest of the day .
Take care,

Morning Mock and all

No news from Gravy Grange as I have been quiet poorly, hopefully up for a bit of gentle pottering today (to see what state DH has left my beloved kitchen in)

Will try to catch up with all your news

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s trying to brighten up a bit in South Yorkshire. DD and her menfolk came for a curry lunch yesterday, which was very nice. It’s aways difficult to get that right. They all like different degrees of heat and you can’t please everyone, but it didn’t hang around very long as they were all hungry! I have an appointment with my hairdresser today. Greatly looking forward to it because she’s a nice person and an extremely good hairdresser - and I’m beginning to look a bit like an old English sheepdog!! Slow cooked gammon for tea with cauliflower cheese and new potatoes.
Have a good day everyone!

GrannySomerset Mon 08-Nov-21 08:45:45

Grey skies but all the cattle in the field behind our house are standing up so presumably no rain in the immediate future.

Waiting a call back from the surgery in the hope that I can see an actual GP. My back is no better and I think I need an x-ray in order to decide what to do.

Better get dressed so I can embark on getting DH ready to face the day - not a quick job these days. Hope Marydoll feels better soon and that the best day possible awaits.

A dull ‘but looks as though the sun is trying to come out’ kind of morning in Oxfordshire. Chilly though.
I’m trying a recipe from Rick Steins book, it says cook on the hob for 3 hours, but there is no way my hob won’t burn it to a crisp, so I’m going to throw it into the slow cooker ( bought 4 years ago and still unused) and see how it fares.
Apart from that just us and DD2s dog for the day.

DD1s partner (double jabbed) has been pretty poorly with Covid but will be clear tomorrow, he has been phoned each day by the powers that be to check he is indoors (he’s been too ill to go out and ‘lost’ 3 days) as our daughter was in Glasgow all week. By all accounts it was a nasty experience.
Have a good day everyone and hopefully we will all find some joy in it somewhere.

I think Essex has a posse as opposed to twins.

baubles Mon 08-Nov-21 08:54:37

Good morning Mick, morning all from dry South Lanarkshire.

Marydoll if Dollies’s school shopping evening is anything like similar events in my DGDs’ school it will be a bit of a scrum so you’re wise to give it a swerve. Good to hear that your family are recovering well Sar.

Well Pantglas, stilllearning and I were at the same Mass yesterday, we may very well have been sitting close together! Also we have daughters who live in the same county, not ours.

Glad the Sunday School went well gMattie.

We are popping over to DD’s this afternoon to see the children when they come home from school, looking forward to hearing their chat.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day as always.

Good morning all. Got late start today so can read all your lovely posts. It’s bright and breezy here in the north east but dry. Had lovely weekend went out for lunch on Saturday and started Christmas shopping yesterday. Still suffering pains and bruises from my fall over last week can’t believe a week on and still sore? every week something else! Sister looking to go to oz for Christmas has forms to fill in to see if she is allowed. Will miss her but she hasn’t seen family for over two years long way to go. Hope everyone keeping well and strong look after yourselves.

PollyTickle Mon 08-Nov-21 08:59:14

Good morning all. Grey but dry and still, not too cold in Anglesey.
Sorry you are still very under the weather GrannyGravy, hope you feel better before long.
That’s sad news monk. What kind of person would hit and run, it beggars belief.
Tidying up for us today after a wonderful day of silly play all day yesterday. Grandson loves his diggers and cement mixers and granddaughter has to spread the dolls house furniture to all corners of our house. I keep finding tiny beds and chairs in the oddest places.
We made daft masks and some strange Christmas decorations which, thankfully, they wanted to take home with them.
Oh well, up and atom as Pa Tickle would say.
Have the best day you can everyone ???

dustyangel Mon 08-Nov-21 09:01:22

Good morning everyone from a brighter Algarve. The sun’s out and according to my iPad it will be 4° warmer here than yesterday. Can’t be bad.

Nannagarra Mon 08-Nov-21 09:03:03

Good morning from Sefton where it is calm, dry and reasonably mild.
A lovely day out with friends yesterday featured much laughter and putting the world to rights. It was a real tonic.
What a tribute the other nan paid to you, Mattie, and how thoughtful of you to make a bag for her. You are such a talented lady. I’m sure once B gets into the spirit of an adventure with his furry friend they’ll have an exciting day in Shugborough, Susan56. In years to come he’ll look back on those photographs with much fondness.
General pottering and faffing are on my agenda today. May you all be blessed with kindness, smiles and flamingos. ???

Anniebach Mon 08-Nov-21 09:04:17

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Marydoll Mon 08-Nov-21 09:15:29

Baubles and Stilllearing, you could could join up with Kalu and I when you visit your daughters and be part time quads! ?

Urmstongran Mon 08-Nov-21 09:42:09

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and seems mild out. Not a lot on the cards for today which suits me as we had a busy few days last week. Himself is going for his booster jab this afternoon and that’s about it.

I must start my book club read. Oh dear, what with one thing and another (poorly L’il Miss) I’m so late - book club is Wednesday night in a local pub this time. I hope I enjoy it and want to rattle through it or it will seem like homework! It’s Tracey Chevalier ‘ A Single Thread’. Anyone read it?

Your absence was duly noted GG13 and sorry to hear it’s because you’ve been poorly. I thought those steroids had kicked in and you were starting to feel much better. Get well soon and I hope the sight of your kitchen doesn’t give you a relapse.

Memories brought back by you Susan56 about having a turn with the class bear! Such a lovely concept for littlies isn’t it? When the Boy Wonder had his turn, the family took him to the bowling alley in the Trafford Centre producing some hilarious photos.

It’s nice to hear your family may well be moving closer to you harri and their support right now must be invaluable to you.

Enjoy a good Monday all who can. x

hollysteers Mon 08-Nov-21 09:57:38

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy. Chambers, Lancashire coast.
DS arrived yesterday and DD driving up from the south to take back a sofa for her new flat. If she wasn’t already employed, she could help out with the lorry driver shortage, she spends so much time driving up and down the motorway.
I’m going to practise a few songs for Christmas concerts, empty the dishwasher and other mundane things.
Thoughts to harrigran and anyone with worries.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 08-Nov-21 10:01:31

Good Morning all from bright Harrogate - my optimism today knows no bounds - I've got the bedding in the washing machine full of hope of it drying outside.
My attempt at going to church yesterday failed miserably. I tried to go on the bus which was late and the traffic humungous so ended up in M&S to get some baking to take to my DD1 who was cooking us lunch. I had made a lemon meringue pie, but it seemed to shrink in the oven and I couldn't see it going round us all.
I made the mistake of addressing DD1's MIL by her christian name. "why are you calling her that" asked DGD, " She is knit-nan" (because she does a lot of knitting!!)
Unless anyone knows different, I have no twins in Harrogate or surrounding area?
Today I shall be very busy chatting to my school friend in Ayrshire and my sisters in Surrey and Dumfries & Galloway.
Hope you all have a very good day today.

Jaxjacky Mon 08-Nov-21 10:01:37

Less of a responsibility having a bear Susan56 I can remember the dread I felt when it was our turn to have the class guinea pig. The children were happy, I was not!
Suggest a firm voice and possibly tears GrannySomerset your life is tough without a bad back, good luck ?.

aggie Mon 08-Nov-21 10:02:27

Good morning everyone, just back from my booster ! I had to sit for 15 minutes after , but there was no one to chat to , all strangers !

baubles Mon 08-Nov-21 10:09:28

Baubles and Stilllearing, you could could join up with Kalu and I when you visit your daughters and be part time quads! ?

Now there’s an idea! grin

monk08 Mon 08-Nov-21 10:12:49

PollyTickle it was a 19yr old drugged up driver fortunately police caught up with him. Doesn't make it any easier for the family though.

Blossoming Mon 08-Nov-21 10:13:58

Good morning Mick and all. I haven’t opened the curtains yet but it looks quite bright and no rain at present.

Stay safe all.

kittylester Mon 08-Nov-21 10:14:28

My friend had the class hamster, which died!! She went everywhere to get one that looked as much like the original as possibly. When she took it back to school, she told the class teacher who said that it was a shame she had bothered because they were all hoping it would die soon as it was such a responsibility.
