Netflix Recommendations?

I liked the Kominsky method but I don't know if it is uplifting.

another thing I love on Netflix is Good Girls it irritated me a bit at first, but I stuck with it & then after a couple of episodes I loved it. It's far fetched of course but it's not meant to be factual, it's great escapism & good fun.

We just watched Rocket Man last night. A musical drama based on Elton John's life. Turn your volume up and enjoy the music!
Note - we had to close our eyes during the love scenes. A bit too graphic, but didn't last long

Bohemian Rhapsody, a much better film.

It may be a bit racy, but a new season of secx education is out. There's a lot of Welsh teens having sex, but it is well written and funny too. Those young people!

Modern Family is really funny no swearing or violence. The characters build up delightfully like Schitts Creek another good one.

It took me a few episodes to get into SC Chestnut. But yes we are all different. I recommended The Detectorists to my son and he thought it was rubbish.

I was surprised at what all the fuss was about

I gave up on Schitts Creek. My daughter thought it was brilliant.

I’m glad to hear I’m not alone in wondering what the fuss about SC was. We had a breathless recommendation from a neighbour, telling us we must watch it so we settled down in expectation - but couldn’t even finish the first episode.

I’m torn between hating to give up so quickly, and the sense that life really is just too short!

Life in Pieces is marvelous, addictive watching.

Emily in Paris grew on me. Amusing

Shitts Creek ...

Swinging with the Finkels is a gentle English Rom com with slightly naughty bits.

I was undecided on Schitt’s Creek but by the end of episode 2 I was drawn in. I loved it.

My absolute favourite of the past year was Grace and Frankie. Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are so funny together and tears ran down my face listening to them.

Mrs Lewis is a good movie which I enjoyed.

Stuck Together is a comedy film set in a Paris apartment block during Covid Lockdown. It’s well dubbed into English, light heated. I’m halfway through so no spoilers for the ending.

Unorthodox. Gripping, informative and heartwarming.
