Such wonderful news grandmabatty a new baby Grandson! I hope your DD is home soon and congratulations to all ???

BladeAnnie Sat 20-Nov-21 16:50:27

Good afternoon dear kitcheners and my best wishes to GrandmaBatty on the safe arrival of a precious little boy ?. Thank you again for all the birthday wishes - it was a lovely quiet day; just what I was in need of?. It's been another relaxed day in the BA household ? I was going to wrap sone presents but we watched the football (whatever has gone wrong you mighty Blades??), and since then I've been thinking just a few more pages....?. Sending gentle hugs to everyone in need of a little comfort tonight ?

Urmstongran Sat 20-Nov-21 17:33:46

‘Evening All’.

From the sick bay but after asking Himself to buy Benylin for chesty coughs my ribs feel easier. I hope I’m turning a corner. I’m ‘feeding a cold’ well that’s my excuse. Salmon & broccoli quiche from M&S with baked tomatoes and mushrooms. Hope my sense of smell comes back soon. Eating isn’t the same when you can’t taste your food.

Strictly for aficionados tonight? GN always goes very quiet around this time on a Saturday ...
?

Grandmabatty Sat 20-Nov-21 17:48:55

Urmstongran I should have asked earlier how you were. My apologies. It sounds like a horrible virus, if not THE virus. I am having a very easy tea of chips, egg and beans before settling in to watch Strictly. Take care

Urmstongran Sat 20-Nov-21 18:14:30

Oh please don’t apologise GB absolutely no need. Truly.
This kitchen is somewhere cosy and caring.
We all know that, always.
??

P.s. I’m missing GrandmaFrench very much. Has anyone heard from her recently? Such a lovely poster.

muse Sat 20-Nov-21 18:33:16

I hope you've turned the corner too Urms. That cough has dragged on long enough. Enjoy the quiche.

Grannmarie Sat 20-Nov-21 18:56:46

Such lovely news, Grandmabatty, congratulations on the safe arrival of your precious DGS2??. It won't be too long until you can see him, and he can meet his big brother! Glad to hear that your DD is getting time to rest and recover. You'll sleep tonight!
I'm a thankful Gran too, after a lovely family visit earlier this afternoon. My 3 DSons, their partners plus grandchildren arrived for my birthday lunch celebrations. I really appreciate it when we all manage to meet up.
My sisters and I fly to Chicago on Monday for Thanksgiving with DB and DSiL, I'm a bit nervous but looking forward to a long overdue reunion.
TOYA, enjoy your cuddles with the gorgeous new babies. Have a peaceful Saturday evening.

Just popping in after a busy day celebrating DGD’s 6th birthday. We are all exhausted but she has had ‘the best day ever’.

Hope that your daughter will be home tomorrow Grandmabatty.I am sure big brother will be very excited to meet the new baby??

Hope all in the sick bay are improving???

Urmstongran Sat 20-Nov-21 19:46:28

Thanks muse. Himself assured me it was delicious ?
No point having anything more really.

Oh Grandmarie I bet you are SO excited to be off to the Big Apple! Our Yorkshire Lass lived in Chicago once for a short time. She’s the one in the family with itchy feet .. well, back in the day when she was single. I remember her saying when she flew out the Twin Towers were still standing. And weren’t when she flew back. Poignant.

Grannmarie Sat 20-Nov-21 20:45:03

Thanks, Urmstongran, I am getting a bit excited now. I was afraid to build up my hopes cos this trip has been rescheduled twice, and I didn't feel certain I was going until I got a negative result on my Fit to Fly test this morning.
What a strange, sad experience for your DD. Hope you are feeling a bit better now.

Jaxjacky Sat 20-Nov-21 20:57:48

Tough day, FIL was buried with a huge turnout according to MrJ. I had a GP call re my nosebleed, referral, I need to logon and sort Monday.
I’m tired, so apologise for not acknowledging all your news. Night night xx

Nannytopsy Sun 21-Nov-21 06:31:20

Such a busy kitchen! I have been popping in and catching up with all the news but not posting. I hope Urms is feeling better and that the new babies are home and available for cuddling very soon. Did you catch up on your sleep Jax? A sad time for you.
I keep thinking of you soop - can you feel the vibes?
Synonymous I do hope your house is back to normal soon. It’s been a long time.
And to everyone - have a good Sunday.

Jaxjacky Sun 21-Nov-21 07:52:48

Thank you all and yes thanks Nannytopsy, bed at just gone 9, up at 7, I’d say that was a catch up!

TillyTrotter Sun 21-Nov-21 10:18:40

Hope today brings you comfort on all fronts Jaxjacky .
Better days are coming. A good night’s sleep is a great start ?

I hope you got one too Grandmabatty? ? Get those arms flexed ready to cuddle DD, and both new baby GS and his older brother ?

Yiayia4 Sun 21-Nov-21 12:29:39

Hope you have a better day Jax ?
I’m sure your looking forward to that first cuddle, such a special moment Grandmabatty
My cousins daughter gave birth to a bouncing baby girl this morning. They are calling her Ettie such a cute name.
Thinking of you Soop and Mr Soop ?

Synonymous Sun 21-Nov-21 12:34:17

Such a beautiful day here so I hope that you are all able to smile at lovely sunshine today.?flowers

Grandmabatty Sun 21-Nov-21 12:52:34

Tillytrotter I had a reasonable sleep (for me) and was up at seven drinking coffee and watching the sky change from dark blue ink to pale blue. Then we had family breakfast where my mother chose to be very unpleasant as she often can be. Even my aunt noticed. I suspect jealousy is at the root of her nasty digs but I disengage and laugh afterwards.
My daughter and baby are home. Big brother is delighted with his wee brother and is gently pushing the Moses basket. I'm waiting for the summons.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 21-Nov-21 13:55:07

I have retreated to the kitchen (my favourite room) to make a start on writing Christmas cards. Didn’t sleep that great so I am mainlining latte’s .

Have decided not to cook the joint of beef, going to pop up to our local Italian Restaurant for a late Sunday lunch, will have a mid-week roast instead.

So much joy with new babies, they bring with them love and take a piece of our hearts on first sight ?❤️?❤️?❤️

brook2704 Sun 21-Nov-21 14:20:47

Just popping into the kitchen for a break from tidying the garden. DH is still out there so I’ve made him his cup of tea and he’s sitting on the bench in the shed - he’s quite happy and so am I
More beautiful new baby news Yia congratulations to your cousin and family. I must say I’m getting a little bit envious of all these new babies, I don’t think they’ll be any more DGC for me but I’m very fortunate with the ones I’ve already got. It’s just that they grow up far too quickly!
I hope your DH is ok when you pick him up Jax he’ll be pleased to be home and to see you I guess
A lovely idea to postpone the cooking and go to your local Italian for Sunday lunch GG13 hope you enjoy it
Good on you Grandmabatty for rising above any unpleasantness, my mother could often be the same but of course I miss her now that she’s no longer with us. Hope you get your cuddles soon with your new baby grandson

soop Sun 21-Nov-21 14:51:22

I have not forgotten you lovely lot. No way! Back a little later.
