We need to get things organised for soop's return.

Babies coming thick and fast! How lovely - they’re a joy to the world, aren’t they? ❤️❤️❤️

I spent yesterday with my daughter and her little ones. It took me back to my days as a mum to four - I never stopped and at one point somehow found myself in the loo of a cafe with both my almost 4yo GD and the six-week-old baby! Dd had swanned off for some time to herself. grin

Did I tell you that the baby is now almost 13lb? He’s on the verge of growing out of some of his his 0-3mth clothes. He definitely takes after his dad, tall and broad.

I’ve just brought down from the attic my box of Christmas wrapping paper. We’re going to London next week to see our DS2 and I need to wrap their Xmas presents to take with us. Is it permitted to break out the mulled wine in November? wine

I have had a cuddle. He is a wee darling with lots of dark hair. And so wee! His big brother was thoroughly charmed with the dinosaurs I had bought him. They are a lovely family of four. I'm very proud of my daughter and son-in-law who are amazing. I'm now going to put a chicken in to roast and have a gin and tonic. Good evening to you all.

Grandmabatty I shall raise a glass of G&T in honour of your baby grandson's arrival. May life be kind to him. May he reach his full potential. sunshine

SueDonim Your post put a warm smile on my face.

soop Sun 21-Nov-21 17:30:55

Dear Urms Relax and please get well very soon. flowers

Yiayia Another warm welcome to your cousin's baby daughter. I like the pretty name that she has been given.

Jax I echo TillyTrotters kind words. smile

Nannytopsy Your positive vibes mean a lot to me. Thank you.

Grannmarie I'm excited for you. Any room for a little old lady? hmm

I apologise for the brief visit to our very comforting kitchen. I have a serious case of "the trots" [nothing new] and feel safest when close to the bathroom.

As I do not wish to be a boring old fart, I have opened a forum dedicated to drop bot. It helps to share like experiences with others.

This does not mean that I am abandoning our kitchen. I merely wish to spare you all the continuing buggerations.

Enjoy a peaceful and pleasant Sunday evening. We will watch some snooker. Doing so doesn't ask a lot of the flagging grey cells.

Night night. smile moon

Night night soop!

BlueBalou Sun 21-Nov-21 17:42:44

Lovely sunny walk with puppy first thing but really chilly. I have sorted the bedrooms for the estate agent photographer who comes on Thursday and will do the kitchen and living room tomorrow. Goodness knows where I will be able to hide some of the ‘stuff’ we’ve accumulated, making it look presentable.
I intend to have a massive declutter before we move, I honestly don’t wear or need 50% of my clothes and I am donating lots of books to Wiltshire library service.
Still don’t know where we’re going to move to, I almost contemplated a motor home and becoming nomads! We do, however, have to move from here because of the distance from shops, doctors etc.
I hope everyone has a peaceful evening x

Jaxjacky Sun 21-Nov-21 17:57:09

Congratulations Yia Ettie is a lovely name, babies abounding on here! A special cuddle Grandmabatty, delightful.
Mulled wine is perfectly in order SueDonim, quality control ?.
Thank you TillyTrotter, all of you actually, he’s at the airport now.
Night night soop it’s a heavy burden you bear ?.

Good evening dear kitchen friends (I was going to say hello from Duncan too but he's just this minute upped and off my lap!!). Lots of happy baby news but sending hugs to everyone not feeling 100% tonight. Enjoy the remainder of the weekend everyone

maddyone Sun 21-Nov-21 18:25:16

Have a nice evening soop and everyone else who visits the kitchen. The regulars and the occasionals like me. Last night we talked to our daughter and her family in New Zealand. I miss them so much it actually hurts. Perhaps especially because they lived here with us for two months before they went. I know it’s selfish but I hope and pray they return, it is after all supposed to be a two year adventure, but who knows if they’ll decide to stay. Their lovely Labrador Callie stayed here with us for six months, but then she went as well. We saw her too on the portal last night. She’s a lovely dog and we miss her too.

maddyone Sun 21-Nov-21 18:27:39

Urmston I do hope you feel better soon. I assume it’s not Covid or you would have said. Keep warm and cosy until you’re feeling better.

maddyone Sun 21-Nov-21 18:29:57

I hope all went as well as could be expected Jax and you can now relax and get your nose sorted out flowers

Grannmarie Sun 21-Nov-21 18:44:50

Soop, you are more than welcome to our Chicago Thanksgiving reunion, I'm still packing and there's definitely room! Maybe we'll find a 21st century Dr Kildare
( my childhood crush) to fix you up, wouldn't that be great?

Lovely to hear of the cuddles with the gorgeous babies, enjoy this special time Grans, they're not wee babies for long!

TOYA, especially those with illness, pain or sorrow.
Urms, hoping you feel better soon.
Jax, thinking of you and hoping Mr J was comforted by the great send off for his DF.

I better get a move on, we leave for the airport at 5.30 am... its going to be cold and frosty, both here in North Lanarkshire and in Chicago. I've never travelled in big coat and boots before, there's a first time for everything!
NNGB.???

Marydoll Sun 21-Nov-21 19:01:44

Grannmarie, we went to New York at this time of the year, before Covid hit. I have never felt so cold in my life! It was a pure dead hassle, as we say here, travelling in a puffa coat and boots! Good luck with that!!
Safe journey and enjoy!

My MIL used to travel to Chicago at this time of the year and we always got brilliant Christmas presents from the shopping outlets!

Jaxjacky Sun 21-Nov-21 19:01:58

Have a really wonderful time Grannmarie ✈️.

TillyTrotter Sun 21-Nov-21 19:04:15

brook2704 Sun 21-Nov-21 20:32:49

Have a brilliant time grannmarie I’m sure you will!

It must be so difficult with your family being so far away maddyone, sending ??

Urmstongran Sun 21-Nov-21 20:33:17

‘Evening All’.

I’ve felt a bit ropey all day today. Slightly nauseous which feels strange as I have anosmia (I Googled no sense of smell and taste. So I’ve just eaten toast and had a plain baked potato for my tea. Carbs seem good.

I did a second LFT as our daughter said it is possible to get a false negative result. Anyway good news is that it’s negative again so I just hope for a better day tomorrow.

I must be getting better as the aches and pain have gone, plus the runny nose and sneezing. Just the coughing and sore ribs now. Upwards and onwards eh? Love to all.

Grandmarie you enjoy that turkey Thanksgiving dinner with your family! How utterly exciting!

Urmstongran Sun 21-Nov-21 20:37:37

maddyone ?

Blossoming Sun 21-Nov-21 20:51:04

Good evening dear Kitcheners. It has been stubby but so cold here today, we have pottered around the garden a little until we needed to warm up. My foot is much better, though I’m trying not to overdo it. Baked potatoes on the menu here too Urms, hope you feel better soon. Have a lovely trip Granmarie: so exciting! I hope you can see your loved ones before too long maddyone, might it be possible for you to travel over there sometime?
Goodnight all, TOYA flowers

Dogsmakemesmile Sun 21-Nov-21 20:57:29

Evening kitcheners. Have been away for a couple of days. Have not read the posts before me so apologies for not mentioning anyone by name. I hope all are as well as possible. Ddog settling back into running the house. He has forgiven us (instantly) for decanting him into a kennel.
Glorious weather here and the week ahead dry and bright.
My best wishes to all. x

brook2704 Sun 21-Nov-21 21:05:36

Hope you’re feeling much better soon Urms take care
