Hoping no-one else has done this.

We need to get things organised for soop's return.

MayBeMaw Fri 10-Dec-21 18:09:46

Is he part of the National Elf Service?

silverlining48 Fri 10-Dec-21 18:30:15

Expect he is more efficient than my less than positive nhs experience today. ( hate to say that as am an nhs supporter).
The chocolate was lovely though.
Hope your consultation went well today Soop.
Have a good weekend all x

Baggs Fri 10-Dec-21 19:13:28

Soop posted this on the other thread and asked for it to be shared with the Kitchen:

"Dearest you lovely lot. I had a very informative conversation with Mr McCourtney, the surgeon. The surgery will take place in the first quarter of next year. He will now present my case including my age etc to the finance department who set the amount for the proposed surgery. I shall receive a letter with details in the not too distant future. Mr McCourtney needs to see us in person in January. The surgery is major with risks of which we must be made fully aware. We both feel uplifted and remain confident. Please share with Kitcheners as I shall now need to log off until tomorrow."

Oh silverlining how frustrating for you. I hope it can be sorted out without you having to start at the bottom of the queue. Some years ago my eldest DGS needed to have surgery for an ear but it was suddenly discovered that he was not 'in the system'. Quite a shock but he did eventually have the surgery.

annodomini Fri 10-Dec-21 19:31:12

Silverlining, I'm indignant on your behalf, not that it would do much good! Have you any idea if the referral was sent or if it was sent and then lost by the hospital? Could be either. Anyway, someone needs an ear-bashing and/or a stiff letter of complaint! And whatever the case may be, I do agree that dark chocolate is my go-to source of consolation too.

Jaxjacky Fri 10-Dec-21 19:35:31

Thank you Baggs

Grandmajean Fri 10-Dec-21 19:45:00

I hope you get your problems sorted soon Silverlining so frustrating.
Soop that sounds really positive news. Everything crossed for you.

Grandmabatty Fri 10-Dec-21 19:52:24

Baggs thanks for passing this on. Soop fingers crossed for a successful outcome. Silver lining how disappointing for you.

brook2704 Fri 10-Dec-21 19:57:02

Thanks for the update Baggs

‘Evening All’.

We are home, cosy and full. We went over to mind the grandchildren at tea time whilst their parents did a bit of secret shopping at the Trafford Centre.

Tomorrow our little family have a lovely day planned. Football match as per for our Boy Wonder. Then appointment for him and his sister with Father Christmas in the Trafford Centre followed by booked tickets for the ice skating rink there (never been before) then L’il Miss has a Reception class birthday to attend.

Our daughter shushed us about all this. ‘Please don’t mention any of this mum. They’ll be so excited they won’t sleep! I’ll tell them in the morning’. A very sensible mummy in my opinion. She knows her children. Better than taking over-excited and (quite possibly) tired children out & about tomorrow!

Great news soop!

silverlining48 Fri 10-Dec-21 21:16:42

Thank you all fir your kindness which has cheered me in what has been a stressful and quite upsetting day. Here’s to a better one tomorrow and better news next week maybe. Will report back, but must stop complaining. It is what it is but very pleased to hear Soop’s good news.

SueDonim Fri 10-Dec-21 21:17:00

Thank you for lovely posts! I’m currently on Cloud Eight. It’ll be Cloud Nine tomorrow, when ds2 arrives in the morning from London. He can only stay 24hrs as he’s moving house on Monday but it’ll be three years since we were all gathered together. Must remember to take photos!

I forget who asked, but ds1 has come over to see his new nephew. He’s here until next Thursday. We’re having a faux Christmas tomorrow, with roast beef, as we’ll all be fairly scattered for Christmas.

I’ve wrapped a crazy number of presents today and made two dozen mince pies. Brandy butter and cream available to have with yours, if you desire!

Good to see Soop’s update. It’s getting closer…..

Blossoming Fri 10-Dec-21 21:20:49

Thanks for updating Baggs that sounds promising. Friday is my day for getting weighed, I have lost a further 1kg this week, very happy with that. That sounds like a fabulous day tomorrow Urms.

Mr. B and I are watching a film and chilling, so signing off for now. TOYA

BladeAnnie Fri 10-Dec-21 21:29:01

A quick hello and goodnight at the same time from me. A busy day helping my mum which I THINK she was appreciative of!! Good news from soop ?. Sleep well everyone ??

Jaxjacky Fri 10-Dec-21 22:01:00

Both GC’s are asleep, they’ve been really good but were not particularly interested in the festive film I wanted to watch, devices have more attraction when they’re older.
Tree delivered, decorating tomorrow, it’s a bit bigger than expected, TV and table may have to be moved a bit. Busy day, hiding Imogen’s bike at our friends, Tesco delivering everything ordered, then my son called in with GF,
Busy tomorrow for all Urms delightful ?
Well done Blossoming, that’s very encouraging ??.
You’re excitement is leaping off the page SueD joyous x

Night all, sleep well.

Hellogirl1 Fri 10-Dec-21 22:01:22

That sounds promising Soop, glad to see the fund mounting up xx

muse Fri 10-Dec-21 23:38:53

Thank you for posting soop's news in the kitchen Baggs. Looks like things are heading in the right direction?

Yes please to the mince pies and cream SueDonim. Have the most lovely early Christmas celebration together tomorrow.

Good luck with the tree Jax.

Today looks like it has been a joyous day for many kitcheners.

Bellanonna Fri 10-Dec-21 23:41:32

Good news soop and not so long to wait.

cornergran Fri 10-Dec-21 23:51:49

Thank you for passing the message baggs. Good news for you soop.

A similar thing happened to me Charley. My GP wrote. Laid out the case and requested common sense be applied. . It worked. I was seen in a timely fashion. Can only hope silverlining has an equally persuasive GP on her side. Interesting fro know where the referral was lost, did it never get out of the GP surgery or did it disappear once it reached secondary care. If it did thr. PALS may be able to intervene.

maddyone Sat 11-Dec-21 00:02:09

That’s very positive news soop.
silverlinings definitely chase up with your GP. You should go into the list at the place where you’d be if the referral wasn’t lost.
I hope everyone with Covid has a mild dose and recovers quickly.

Mr Boiler Man turned up today to fix the boiler. He replaced the two faulty parts and then announced there is another faulty part. He’ll be back on Monday to fix it. Good job we have a gas fire in the living room and one of the showers is electric.

Sleep well everyone.

Kalu Sat 11-Dec-21 01:52:29

It is all fast becoming a reality at last Soop. ?

Grannmarie Sat 11-Dec-21 09:21:54

Good morning, lovely Kitchen people.
Great to hear Soop's news, thank you Baggs.
Enjoy your long awaited family reunion, SueD.
Well done, Blossoming, you're an inspiration.
Hope you got some sleep, Marydoll and Kalu.
Thinking of you, Silverlining, please contact your GP asap.
Have a safe weekend, TOYA.

I must do some housework before family arrive!

soop Sat 11-Dec-21 15:12:30

Thank you for sharing the good news, Baggs.

I shall return a wee bit later. smile

BladeAnnie Sat 11-Dec-21 15:16:44

Good afternoon dear kitcheners. A quiet day for me while Mr BA tinkers in his workshop. I’ve just made a cup of herbal tea in my favourite mug and sat down with my book and Duncan has come to join me - happily purring away ??. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday everyone
