If you think Harry was the only pupil who received 'assistance' with his course work you are extremely naive. It happened all the time with help from parents, tutors and senior members of staff, and is almost impossible to prove; children and staff know, and very occasionally the pupil concerned will admit openly to it, thinking it clever. That is one reason why course work was severely restricted and more reliance placed on exams.
Harry's work was investigated by a tribunal at the time and no evidence of cheating was found, although it was admitted he was given help to prepare it. I remember the case, and the art tutor had threatened to make allegations when she was dismissed, and they called her bluff. She did receive a settlement because dismissal procedures were not followed correctly. Possibly.
It is not true to say that there was no evidence of cheating because the tribunal could not rule on this issue as it was completely outside the remit of an employment tribunal. The issue they had to rule on was the employment issue between teacher and school
What the tribunal actually said in their judgement was "It is clear whichever version of the evidence is accepted that Mr Burke did ask the claimant to assist Prince Harry with text for his expressive art project ... It is not part of this tribunal's function to determine whether or not it was legitimate."
Eton have had several cheating scandals - the most recent a few years ago where teachers who were also A-level examiners were tipping off their pupils about what questions would be on the exam paper
