Good morning everyone. I’m thinking about my busy day ahead, speak later wink

Good morning all, from a showery Glasgow.

We have had no internet again, just got it back up and running, but he who lives with me, refuses to phone Virgin! ?
After having had very little sleep, (the nameless one's fault), all I could could hear at 5.45am was a disembodied voice in the dark saying, Alexa, cancel the alarm, Alexa cancel the alarm, Alexa....., all the other Alexas upstairs repeating, Cannot connect, cannot connect.... and me hiding under the covers, growling, Its not bl***y working, the Internet is down, AGAIN!!!. ?
I have cursed him with an unscratchible itch (sp?), torrential rain and a plague of locusts and frogs on the golf course. wink

Dollie had a lovely birthday, thanks Susan and to cap it all, Daddy made it straight from the airport to Mcdonald's for the birthday tea. Her lovely teacher sent a photo of the whole class, singing Happy Birthday. to her. She was like the cat who got the cream.
Tonight, we have been invited for fish suppers and cake. Now that is huge progress. The icing on the cake was my darling daughter has reached out to DS1 and he has responded. I'm so proud of her.

Baubles and Urms, I hope you feel better soon. Urms, we are still doing lateral flow tests every week, as recommended by NHS Scotland, so always have a stash at home. Remember to report, even if you have a negative result, to inform the research.

Pants, the shampooing went reasonably well, but that is only because I retreated upstairs ( hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil ???) to clean up the mess and scrub the bathroom floor, after the reluctant tiler's hash and bash attempt at grouting. wink

Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans.
You may have sussed out that, today I am a grumpy old woman!

Marydoll Fri 19-Nov-21 08:32:28

Grandmabatty, so pleased to see you back! ?

Grandmabatty Fri 19-Nov-21 08:36:07

Marydoll it sounds like Dolly had a great birthday. Thank you for your greetings!

brook2704 Fri 19-Nov-21 08:44:30

A big congratulations to you and all the family grandmadinosaur on the safe arrival of your new DGD. You must be thrilled! Such a beautiful name too ???

BlueSapphire Fri 19-Nov-21 08:50:12

Good morning everyone from a grey but dry Northampton. Thinking of going into town this morning to look for a new watch. I have sadly had to retire the beautiful watch that late DH gave me on our first Christmas together - 1969, so 52 years old! I just want one that looks nice and suitable for all occasions. I may also go and see if that bright orange shoulder bag is still there.......

Yesterday morning went to collect the dress I had ordered for Christmas, but fear it will be too long for me. Will try it on after my shower this morning. Had a good ballet class after lunch, where we practised the routine we are doing on Sunday for Children in Need. Shall be certain to make a complete fool of myself as I cannot remember it!

How lovely to have a new grandchild, Grandmadinosaur. Many congratulations!

Urmston, I hope you feel better soon.

Wishing all a good Friday.

monk08 Fri 19-Nov-21 08:50:36

Good morning all from the Black country.
Congratulations Grandnadinosaur on your new granddaughter.
We are off to the jewellery quarter today to pick up the engraved fishing trophies ready for presentation night. When we dropped them off I saw some lovely earrings so if they are still there it is obvious they were meant for me.
Meeting friends later over at the club.
Virtual hugs where needed. Enjoy your Friday and may you all find some ?.

aggie Fri 19-Nov-21 08:51:14

Good morning all, nice and bright today , how I enjoy a bit of brightness ! The dark dull days are so miserable
Nothing exciting happening here , but eldest Grandson is in StAndrews visiting a chum at Uni there , he is amazed at how small it is ! He sent me greetings from “ another country” ?

Kim19 Fri 19-Nov-21 09:15:25

Morning all! Hugs to the sickly pair. and congrats to GD with new GC. How exciting. I remember the sensation well. I've been leaping in and out of bed trying to see the beaver moon. Not a chance. Clouds everywhere. They're thinning now but much too late I fear. Ah well.... Today I must put in some bulbs before this promised cold spell hits us. I'm strictly a warm weather gardener. I've a quiet day otherwise apart from an appointment with my solicitor this afternoon. No drama, thank goodness. Just a bit of tidying up for my children (of course!). I really must get up...... ! I wish you all one highlight in your days and that you recognise it. Cheers!

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny Lancashire coast.
Feeling distinctly under the weather, but no cough or anything fluey so not sure if it’s just a reaction to overdoing things, I had a lazy day yesterday and am off to art group then practice for concerts, so hope to improve as the day goes on. Have always felt like death in the mornings anyway.
Congratulations Grandamadinosaur ?and thoughts to anyone with troubles.

hulahoop Fri 19-Nov-21 09:24:36

Grandmadinosaur congratulations on the addition of a girl to your family ??

baubles Fri 19-Nov-21 09:30:55

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

I’m feeling a little more human but couldn’t fight my way out of a wet paper bag this morning. Haven’t read the thread yet but I see that you have a new granddaughter Grandmadinosaur, congratulations to your family.

I’m having a cup of tea in bed and will read everyone’s news.

Take care and thank you for your kind thoughts.

Sar53 Fri 19-Nov-21 09:32:02

Good morning from a sunny Essex by the sea.

Not a lot on the cards today, may go out for a walk later.

Congratulations Grandmadinosaur on the birth of Charlotte Olivia. My youngest granddaughter has the same two names.
I'm glad is all well with mum and baby.

Have a lovely Friday everyone xxx

Grammaretto Fri 19-Nov-21 09:32:21

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders. A warmish windy day but too damp to dry the washing. I haven't managed on here recently - too much going on.

Congratulations to the Dinosaurs. on their safe arrival.
I wish my niece's baby would hurry up. He is already 12 days late.

More room decluttering today - I have two delightful French helpers staying who are being fairly ruthless. I am taking the 3rd carload of rubbish/treasure to the tip as soon as it opens.
Yesterday, one of the men who work there was sadly contemplating a huge pile of old LP records, including 78s, so I offered to see if a charity shop would take them. They did so I was able to report back.

Sorry to hear of sickness about . Get well soon all those who are poorly.

EkwaNimitee Fri 19-Nov-21 09:37:25

Good morning Mick and all from a very cloudy Carlisle...no chance of seeing the full moon here and can only assume there is still a sun somewhere.
Wednesday afternoon I had a surprise phone call to tell me my little sofa was finally here and was to be delivered next day. Only 2 months late and it's been made in this country too, not coming from Vietnam like my wooden furniture. The delivery guys told me delivery dates are getting even longer.
Anyway, I am relieved to see the colour matches the decor, it's hard to imagine how it will look from looking at swatches.
I have also spent out on an extra vacuum cleaner, my current one is excellent but very heavy and I'm tired of struggling up the stairs with it. I've been dithering over it for a while and have now nabbed it in a Black Friday deal.
And while we are mentioning dithering, I think BlueSapphire should go and nab that bag. You know you really want it and you can justify it as a Christmas present to yourself!
And, finally, congratulations to Grandmadinosaur on the safe arrival of a granddaughter, a lovely early Christmas present....

Blossoming Fri 19-Nov-21 09:41:39

Good morning all from cloudy Lancashire, it’s not raining and quite mild.

I have been doing some family history research on the Farquharson part of my family tree and was amazed to discover they were Jacobites. I have found some fascinating old documents available online, including a very interesting one dated 1736 from Aberdeen commissary court. The old fashioned writing, while beautiful, is difficult to read and some of the archaic terminology has had me scratching my head. Congratulations to Grandmadinosaur. I hope you feel better soon Urms and Baubles.

Marydoll I wondered for a moment if you’d been letting MrMD loose on your hair, then I remembered it was the carpet he was shampooing!

I had a nasty fall a few nights ago, hit the wardrobe door with some force. I have a huge bruise on my arm and a nasty graze on my head' which is very tender.. I’m desperate to shampoo my hair and it’s no longer bleeding, so now I’ve finished my tea and reading this thread I’m going to jump in the shower. Hope everyone finds a ?? or two today.

Purplepixie Fri 19-Nov-21 09:57:36

Good morning from a very grey East Midlands.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 19-Nov-21 09:58:59

Good Morning all from sunny Harrogate, we had a lovely sky when I first peeped out of the curtains
Gosh that is some contraption to sleep with GrandMattie
It sounds Like Dollie enjoyed her 6th Birthday (Belated birthday greetings to her Marydoll
What is it with men and Virginmedia? My DH refuses to call them while we have a disgusting service too. I usually have to let rip at them to get anything done.
GrandmaDinasaur congratulations on the arrival of your new GD.
This morning i am hoping to pop in to the U3A exhibition, might have to go on my own (what's new?). Wew have someone coming to service the heat Source pump this morning. This afternoon a new integrated fridge is being delivered, but not being fitted until Tuesday.
Hoping Urms and Baubles are feeling better
Have the best day you can, folks.

Urmstongran Fri 19-Nov-21 10:30:26

The builder is sending us photos and our ring doorbell is assuring us that they are arriving early and leaving late do they know they’re being spied upon Pittcity?
?

I’ve just done a lateral flow test. Negative. Thought it would be but best to check.

Auntieflo Fri 19-Nov-21 10:30:43

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. This morning is chilly and dull, but the volunteer gardeners have been and worked wonders. It is all so tidy now, bless them. They were a bit earlier than expected, but at least I had managed my shower and hair wash, even if I wasn't completely dressed ?
Yesterday we had two new smoke alarms fitted, by the Fire Service. I had only made an enquiry on Monday! Wow, that was a speedy response.
Lovely to have a new granddaughter GrandmaDinosaur, congratulations.
Marydoll, I also thought that you were shampooing your hair! Was it The Man Who Shall Be Nameless, who was responsible for the carpet shampoo? You do lead an eventful life. Anyway, I hope you are feeling strong enough to cope with life's trials.
Hoping that Urms and Baubles soon feel better, and that the Boot helps your foot GrandMattie. Plantar Fasciitis is a misery, and I send sympathies.
Have a good day one and all.

Urmstongran Fri 19-Nov-21 10:49:16

P.s. thank you for all the good get well wishes. My negative Covid was my ‘one’ for today Kim19.
?

Thanks for the reminder Marydoll I’m going to report it.

P.p.s. Would HIGHLY recommend Plusnet. We’ve never had an outage in the 7 years we’ve used them as our internet provider, plus the call centre is based in Yorkshire, employing locals. A win-win.

Stilllearning Fri 19-Nov-21 12:02:00

Forgot to say congratulations to Grandmadinosaur on the safe arrival of Charlotte Olivia, a lovely name.
Also nice to see Grandmabatty and hope her DD’s pregnancy gets a little easier.

Marydoll Fri 19-Nov-21 12:05:16

Good news Urms. Have you tried an inhalation with mental menthol Crystal's. Lethal if you use too much, but boy do they work!
