I'll start!

A child in a covid suit.
Asylum seekers being picked up by the RNLI.

The always right bunch, ?

This thread has now achieved its aim.
I for one am irritated that slanging matches seem to pervade such a number of different, innocuous threads.

I fear an awful lot of things make Grans angry - many justifiably but others perhaps because too many feel the need to vent the bottled up frustrations of the last two years .

Or perhaps some people are just grumpy!

Doctors, nurses, teachers, lorry drivers, fruit pickers. So many talented and decent people sitting in what amounts to internment camps waiting years in limbo.
Why aren’t we investing in speeding up their applications, offering them a better life and in return being thankful for what they have to offer us.

Exactly.

Venting anger is fine, but directing angry comments at other posters is not. I agree MayBeMaw that the air is presently very thick.

I’m not sure that was the aim ? Maybe ?
However I thought it was going ok with reasoned and reasonable comments until just the last page. Shame.

On a totally self centred level what makes me angry is this damned vertigo not letting me get out and about !!!

Josianne Fri 03-Dec-21 08:39:14

Sorry to hear that Lucca. I hope it will pass.

Ah well “anche questo passerà”. I’m just a very impatient patient!

I'm with Maw here. What does being angry achieve other than personal stress? Much prefer the feel good threads. They tend to cheer us up and warm our hearts. Relating each others anger doesn't come under any kind of being nice to each other methinks. It only generates angst in many. Some of the factual stuff has been very enlightening (and sad). Thank you to those contributors.

Getting angry is a rational response to many situations.

Its more important how you manifest the anger you feel. Sadly life isn't all fluffy bunnies and rainbows and there's lots to be angry about. Blaming the "others" and telling people not be angry doesn't help, I'm sorry to say.

You are so wise and clever Alegrias.

Yes I know. Its a curse, but I do my best to bear it.

Have you done the exercises for vertigo?
My doctor believes in them.

Lucca Fri 03-Dec-21 09:37:39

Oh goodness I forgot them. Shall do them at once !

Lucca Fri 03-Dec-21 09:38:11

Meryl I had ginger tea last night. Seems good !

eazybee Fri 03-Dec-21 10:14:24

Meghan Markle.
Obviously.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 03-Dec-21 10:25:18

Oh yes, definitely MM. I was sorry the appeal was unsuccessful. Gave her the chance to say she was doing it for everyone who didn’t feel they could stand up for themselves. Yeah, right.

Good girl, you know it makes sense ?

My sister recently suffered from vertigo and is sure the exercises were the answer.

This very popular 81y old lady who lives alone and regarded GN virtual as her lifeline during the pandemic has been treated most shabbily in my opinion. It upset me greatly.

How sad and unnecessary.

I’d love to say what I think of the person(s) that felt the need to report EV.

How smug and self satisfied they must feel. Yuck!

LauraNorderr Fri 03-Dec-21 11:21:57

Another thing that makes me angry is the view that those who believe in humane treatment of others are accused of virtue signaling or being holier than thou.

LauraNorderr Fri 03-Dec-21 11:30:44

I too feel fond of EV, a lovely lady who cares so much for her family with all their problems. A lady who impressed us with her wit, her kindness and her strength on the good morning thread.
I admit that she expressed some strong and not always pc views on political threads. To report, to delete and to ban will never change views it will only entrench them. Surely those who disagree should discuss and hope to influence.
I would happily join a group to bring back EV.

nanna8 Fri 03-Dec-21 11:36:59

I think the whole reporting lark is a bit sick, personally. Surely there must be moderators who could zonk bad posts without relying on sneaky little grannies ?
