I don’t know about Scotland. Possibly all Scots have constantly worn masks, not at the Women won’t Wheesht protest, oh and they were the people who travelled to London weren’t they?

I'd say probably 95% compliance. Anecdotal.

Masks don't have to be worn outdoors, even at Women won't Wheesht protests.

As for the people who travelled to London - I'm assuming you meant the football fans? The ones who behaved badly, their behaviour was indefensible. But do carry making it all about the whole country. That's going to do lots for cross border relations. Suits me.

There have been few non mask wearers in Wales from what I’ve seen, but the point is that the vast majority have complied, and it’s nothing to do with Boris.

How anyone can equate boris and a good job tackling covid is astonishing. He and his cronies have hesitated at best and been negligent at worst. Near the start of the pandemic gavin Williamson said on the bbc (r4) that “the younger generation shouldn’t have to pay the price of old people surviving.” No one seemed to think that was wrong.

It seems to me that boris and his gang have put peoples need to go to a pub or a meal out before the health of the country, and they are actually proud of it. It’s therefore no surprise that drinkiepoos at number 10, lying about funding for his flat decoration, covering up for his bullying mates, getting rid of the very body who has oversight into his misdeeds, his oven ready hoax, pulling off the greatest lies of all on a gullible British public are all part of his repertoire.

He has styled himself on trump and like his equally abhorrent hero he will not go quietly or with good grace.

Not on this thread, but the Chairman of Conservative Association in Essex did, on radio, not just resigning his post, but leaving the party.

To be fair, I wouldn't leave my party just because we had a crap set of leaders going through, I would just pull back, hunker down and try and change things. Did that many people leave the party, I mean party members, not voters, when Jeremy Corbyn and his crew of nitwits led the Labour party?

Not a sacrifice, if he was there and partying he should go, as should all the others who were with him. They are all grown ups, all actions have consequences, theirs should be to resign.

So you decide , during a lockdown, where parties and gatherings are banned, to have one with your work colleagues. Your manager is on holiday, or away on a business meeting, or at home with their family. Not there in fact. The party goes ahead,or not,what’s the difference between a party and drinks in the office. They knew it was against the Law,but non of those present have yet had the balls to own up and resign, yet you’re all calling for the manager to resign. The manager should have the bottle to manage, and sack all involved, as he should have done with Cummings. Can imagine a wall of silence amongst those there. The little snake leaking this was possibly also there,but again no decency amongst criminals.

Labour Party membership increased massively when Corbyn was leader. This might be a shock to you, MOnica, but his LP had policies that appealed to people. It only lost its appeal after the press had done a complete hatchet job on him as a result of the scare his party gave the Establishment in 2017.

Boris won't resign, he's like Trump in that he can justify his behaviour to himself, what I think might make him leave is lack of money. Like Trump, his financial affairs are a mess although I doubt he has anything majorly illegal hanging over him, he doesn't earn enough as PM to support his life style. It will be interesting to see what he does when he eventually goes. tbh I don't see him as a back bencher!

He's not the manager though Lincslass, he’s meant to be the leader. He runs the ship. And if his officials decide to completely ignore the rules he is setting for everyone, and go ahead and have a “gathering” behind his back, that says to me he doesn’t have a very good grip of the group he is meant to be leading.

And then if they just tell him that they didn’t have a “gathering”, and he says OK then and tells the rest of us there was no “gathering”, then not only is he not a good leader, he’s a gullible one liable to be taken in by the most egregious of lies.

Or worse, if he knew there was a gathering but pretended there wasn’t, he’s a liar who is contemptuous of the people he is meant to be serving – us.

Then on top of that, if there were more illegal “gatherings” in his house, the house he got undeclared backhanders from someone to decorate, then yes. I’d expect him to resign.

I know they did. I follow all sorts of people on twitter

But the overall increase in membership was very large.

And absolutely irrelevant in terms of winning elections.
