Favourite Authors.

I have just rejoined Audible and noticed they have lots of free books in their Plus catalogue.

Would anyone like to share their favourite authors and the reason why you like them.

As out Christmas plans have changed, I fancy a binge listen.

I meant to add that authors I enjoyed in my younger days were Daphne Du Maurier and Monica Dickens.

Rosamunde Pilcher
Joanna Trollope
Jeffrey Archer
Roisin Meaney
Veronica Henry

I read for relaxation so choose easily read books with no convoluted/complicated storyline. I do enjoy Irish writers.

Patricia Wentworth, D E Stevenson, angellaThirkel, Anita Brookner , Marcia Willet , Laura Wilson and Elizabeth Edmonton.

I like family sagas, but not keen on romance and also detective stories. Abir Mukharjee, Donna Leon.

Currently I have the thee Simon Schama Novels on British History. I think he is an excellent writer. It it is about 50 hours of listening without paying.
