It might be more helpful and less provocative if the original post had confined itself to the matter of someone who is obviously a pervert and stopped linking this with transgender issues.

Of course it is linked to transgender issues, trisher as this convicted paedophile now convicted of bestiality man is now suddenly claiming he is a woman, presumably so that he will be put into a women's prison for whatever reason.

Any member of the justice system who believes this and panders to his claims is clearly deluded.

A man convicted of a disgusting offence against a defenceless animal and has previous for similar against juveniles. He then professes to identify as a woman as a ruse to skew the crime stats and serve his time in a women’s prison. As others have said time and time again he’s using current legislation to buck the system and this kind of behaviour is damaging to the trans community who just want to get on with their lives. Strangely the majority on here can see that. No idea why you’re struggling.

From my perspective, trans individuals aren't the problem. Those that seek to pathologise someone else's lived experience are.

The housing and treatment of all sex offenders is a subject worthy of much more in depth discussion. However itis highly unlikely to ever be discuussed rationally or sensibly on GN. I have yet to see any trans gender supporter condoning or supporting the actions of this person. The castrate and flog'em posters obviously fail to realise that sex offenders subjected to such actions often go on to commit more violent offences afterwards.

It could, if you didn’t keep seeing things in posts that aren’t there. Nobody has said that there is support for this man, or that his actions have been condoned. It has been taken as read from the start that he is an aberration, and nobody is equating that with his supposed transexuality. It is the way in which he is using self id, and the way his doing so will impact on crime stats that we are discussing.

However they identify, they don't actually change sex.
Policy should be based on that fact, not on pretending that they do change sex or that they were always the other sex all along.
Policy should also, of course, take account of the fact that transwomen may be at risk from other male people.
The solution is something other than placing male prisoners in women's prisons.

Really? So how could people in the past do what can’t be done now, ie change their biology?

They could act as the opposite sex, and live as though they were the opposite sex, but I’ve never heard of an actual sex change, historical or recent.

As tickingbird says - he is the one bringing transgender into it.

For the hundredth time - nobody is saying that he raped a dog because he claims to be transsexual. He did it because her is a pervert, for want I’d a better word. What people are saying is that the issue is with his declaring himself female and thus skewing the stats, endangering women in jail.

Please stop equating this with homophobia. It isn’t. At no time in my life have I felt that gay people are more likely to be paedophiles, rapists or a danger to others, and I resent the implication that because I question the TWAW narrative that it means I think like that (about gay or trans people). I am sure that others resent it too.

There may also be young women.
There will certainly be women who plain don't want men around when they are locked in.

It is part of prison regulations that there be no male prisoners in female prisons.
Except, suddenly, some male prisoners can be there if they ask nicely.

Well, as this person is a paeodophile and has lately been convicted for abusing a dog, neither physical gender nor self- perception are important here.

After all, whether this convict serves time in a prision for men or women there are not going to be children in either facility, are there?

And any dogs are presumably well-able to take care of themselves as they will doubtlessly be trained guard dogs!

Also, be careful offering castration of potential trans women before entering female prison. Currently, the referral wait time to a gender clinic is 5 years. Commit a crime and get gender reassignment before prison? Sounds like a good deal.
