Forgive me if anybody else was lined up to start this - but wide awake with a million thoughts buzzing through my head I wanted to do this before everything kicks off and I get too tied up with kennels, surprise visit from D and GS, - and what I am dreading, loading the car!
So happy to hear of the -ive PCR test results and with loving thoughts to any and all whose Christmas plans have been blighted .
To all Grans and grands and fellow Good Morningers - my Christmas message to you all !

Blossoming Fri 24-Dec-21 12:44:15

Just popping in to wish everyone a Happy Christmas

grandMattie Fri 24-Dec-21 12:37:58

Oh, bauble, what a bugger! Enjoy your quiet Christmas and have a rip roaring time when you come out of quarantine! ❤️

grandtanteJE65 Fri 24-Dec-21 12:07:20

Happy Christmas to you all! Safe journeys to all of you who are going away to family.

To night is the big night here, so the dessert is ready, the roast is defreezing, potatoes peeled, gifts wrapped, tree decorated four days ago, bins emptied and now I am sitting here catching up with you all.

I hope those of you who have had your plans forcibly changed manage to enjoy Christmas all the same.

chris8888 Fri 24-Dec-21 12:04:53

Happy Christmas everyone

So sorry Baubles

dragonfly46 Fri 24-Dec-21 11:59:47

So sorry Baubles - not what you expected! I hope you can have Christmas later.

muse Fri 24-Dec-21 11:55:47

Sorry to read that Baubles. So sad?
Hope it doesn't get any worse than the cough and sore throat.

kittylester Fri 24-Dec-21 11:47:11

Bugger, bugger baubles. I hope your dh is not too bad!

Thank you for the lovely comments re DD3 - especially her hair. Noone knows what colour it actually is!! She works in the wedding industry so has contacts with make up artists and hair stylists - our kitchen was full of them yesterday!!

A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL DEAR GRANS, I will be having Christmas Day at my son's. He always asks me over now that I am a widow. I am lucky to have such a lovely caring son. My daughter is coming to me for New Year.

GrannyOwl5 Fri 24-Dec-21 11:44:37

Morning. everyone from a bright north kent coast. Lots of messages to read. Lovely to see some familiar names returning and some new ones.

Just had a visit from DD and Grandsons. GS2 - age 7 - is getting a full sized drum kit for Christmas ?. He has lessons at school and loves it. Glad I’m not their neighbour! Whilst they were here SiL smuggled the kit into their garage.

Might have a walk along the seafront later. Spending tomorrow at DDs - with drum kit - so looking forward to that. Not sure what’s happening on Boxing Day as DiL has just recovered from covid so will play it by ear; have to wait to see if anyone else has a +result. They only live round the corner so can catch up next week if needs be.

I wish you all a lovely Christmas and a healthy 2022 with lots of negative results!

I’m more a lurker too but love to read your posts-happy and poignant too. And from all over the place-especially my beloved France, can’t see us making it back there anytime soon ?
We visited DD2 in Harrogate to childmind til Wednesday-we were invited to stay but other GPs are going today so it would have been a bit of a squash.
We thought we might have been visiting local DD1 and family but she’s tested positive so DH and I will attend online church and celebrate Christmas with local family another day.
All best wishes for Christmas-not forgetting the reason for the season-especially to this alone and sad

Kalu Fri 24-Dec-21 11:35:27

Buggeration Baubles ?. I hope your DH isn’t to unwell.

Megs36 Fri 24-Dec-21 11:31:42

Good morning from the Sefton coast.
Wow, you’ve all been busy! I look forward to reading your posts later.
Saw this and thought of you all! xxx

Dottygran59 Fri 24-Dec-21 10:56:56

Kitty Lester - don't often visit this thread - much more of a lurker than a poster - but just HAVE to tell you that the photo of the bride absolutely took my breath away - I literally gasped when I saw it - her HAIR! Stunning

I hope all us lovely Grans have the best Xmas we can under the circumstances - won't bore you with my plans - suffice to say it will include some of the kids and grandkids - already seen the others.

I feel blessed that we have so far survived the worst time in most of our living memories, and yes, there have been aborted plans and many disappointments, but hey - we have each other to come on here to moan to if we need to.

Merry Xmas to us all

Grandmadinosaur Fri 24-Dec-21 10:51:05

Oh Baubles I am so sorry ?

baubles Fri 24-Dec-21 10:49:46

Well that’s our Christmas plans scuppered at the 11th hour. We did LFTs before we were planning to leave the house. DH is positive. He had a bit of a cough and a slightly sore throat last night.

hollysteers Fri 24-Dec-21 10:47:57

Good morning all from a cloudy northwest coast and I hope Mick’s travels go well. Hello again amselerin, lovely to read your news.
Just a few bits and pieces towards the big day, will pop out for crackers and some little stocking fillers. DD and DS arriving later. Really pleased that I was able to pull my table top Xmas tree from its bin liner with baubles on from last year and just plug it in without any fuss. Anything for an easy life.
Goods news Sars and I will read through properly later.
Sending happy thoughts to everyone.

LauraNorderr Fri 24-Dec-21 10:38:55

Good morning all from Anglesey where the sun is shining and not a breath of wind.
Warm welcome MrsJeeves.
A quiet day for us today with a little bit of prep for our share of tomorrow’s dinner.
We’ll probably have a little walk along the beach, play a board game or two and I might do some sketching.
Orlin has moved his new exercise bike in to my little studio so he can ride to the North Pole and back while I draw a big comfy chair for me to sit and watch.

A Christmas Eve good morning to all to wish all you lovely people the very best of wishes and hope you all have a lovely Christmas and that 2022 is kinder to us all. So pleased Granmattie finally got the negative result she was waiting for and was able to make the journey after all. Peace and happiness to you all.

ginny Fri 24-Dec-21 10:36:13

A rather late Good Morning! Have been up since 7 though, busy with all those last minute things.
Gammon in the oven, stuffing just made and pigs I blankets to do. Outside neighbourhood drums and nibbles at 3.30 pm.
So far all family tests have been negative. DHS 1 and Son in Law are at work so hopefully theirs will be the same later. After that we will be in the same places with the same people.
Bride looks beautiful Kitty.
Safe journeys to all who have one to make and kind thoughts for all who are sad or poorly. Hope you all find a smile in your day.

henetha Fri 24-Dec-21 10:33:09
