What's your favourite tipple?

For many of us it is customary to have a seasonal drink of something to toast Christmas or New Year.
Yesterday I had a glass of red wine or two, but today am enjoying a shot of Bailey's Irish cream so I think I have decided it's my favourite tipple.
How about you, what's yours?
I'm not a regular drinker, only on special occasions like today.
Cheers to all!

To be honest, coffee does me fine! I do not think I will be joining the AA anytime soon.

Mmmm, I have a few. Yorkshire tea. Nice coffee (can't be the cheap stuff, or instant, I'd rather go without). I've got an unhealthy addiction to Diet Coke which I try not to succumb to. Red wine with food. On a hot day, vodka, lime and soda. I also enjoy a Bailey's or a Khalua. My own sloe sherry is a favourite too.

All of that makes me sound like a boozer, but actually, I only average 1 or 2 alcoholic drinks a week.

A good Sauvignon - white or blush - great with a meal.
Prosecco for toasting occasions,
Pimms in the summer,
and I love Baileys in a hot milky Chocolate drink. ?

Not interested in alcohol at all; much prefer a decent cup of tea.

Have just down with a glass of Tio Pepe and my favourite Dire Straights CD in the kitchen while the Boxing Day bubble & squeak evening meal is cooking. Bliss!!!

Bailey's in hot chocolate sounds interesting Tilly Trotter, I like both but have never had them mixed.
Maybe I'll try it sometime!

Chilled white wine. Not a very strong one. Never spirits.

Green tea, I used to like Port many years ago.

I love a gimlet. I also love a bit of the white fizzy stuff.

Bristol cream Sherry hits the occasional spot with me.

I haven't touched alcohol for years - problems with my liver (not alcohol-related). I don't miss it at all, but I discovered Nosecco, which we had with xmas dinner (as almost everyone else was driving anyway) and I've found a couple of non-alcoholic gin alternatives which are quite nice.

Gin redwine prosecco port Bailey's lager and lime are all faves at different times

I have a small glass of Guiness every lunch time. My mother was prescribed this by her doctor when she was thirty and she did this until she died at the age of 95.
I have a small glass of red wine with my dinner.

Am intrigued to know how to make sloe sherry?

BlueSky Sun 26-Dec-21 18:22:14

Grand Marnier is my all time favourite! Cognac with bitter orange liqueur! wink

GagaJo Sun 26-Dec-21 18:42:08

Fill a bottle with sloes. Add sweet sherry. Leave for 6 months. Shake occasionally.

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 26-Dec-21 18:52:45

White wine, Campari and soda and Baileys are my favourites.

Original Lucozade, love it.

Chateauneuf du Pape, although I very rarely drink alcohol as it upsets my stomach and my balance. I last had a glass at a cousin’s birthday party in October, and I can’t remember when I had a drink before that.

I'm very boring. Stopped smoking 30 years ago and ended up stopping drinking. Can't stand the stuff now. Just a whiff of red wine makes me feel ill.

Hetty58 Sun 26-Dec-21 21:59:35

A good cup of coffee or Yorkshire tea, no alcohol for me. My parents always had wine with lunch and dinner, along with an evening whisky or two. Christmas had everything alcoholic, even 'snowballs' for kids, sherry trifle, brandy in the cake, etc.

Now, most people drive, nobody drinks - and we have sparkly, non-alcoholic stuff with our Christmas dinner. I'm glad it's changed, as it's the worst drug of all.
