Storing scarves

I seem to have dozens of scarves and they end up shoved into boxes at the top of the wardrobe. Have very little storage space generally. I suppose I could tip them out and fold them…..
Any suggestions?

I put them all on one or two hangers,
Easy to see & crease free .

I have some of these. They can be hung behind doors or inside wardrobes.

I hang them over the bar in the wardrobe

I roll mine up and keep them in a drawer so that they don't get creased.

I do what septima does, hot fed up with the specific hanger in the wardrobe system as it took too much room

I actually have a couple of bars in my bedroom, where I hang them to make a feature. They are positioned away from the window, and I do rotate them so not too much light exposure.

Two drawers, one for woolly type scarves and one for silk/ other, each scarf folded ready for use ( I have too many.)

I roll mine and they’re in a box under the bed.

I just realised that I have jeans in a drawer and they could be better stored at the top of the wardrobe and so the scarves can be folded / rolled (shoved!) in the drawer. Thanks for all your suggestions!

I have just acquired one of these over door hangers; all scarves rolled neatly, plus room for gloves etc. I can see at a glance what I've got.

Kathy , my scarf storage is just like yours in two boxes in top of wardrobe. Most scarves are crease free so I am happy with the boxes. I agree they take up space but at least I Know where to find them !

I bought a double row of over-the-door coat hooks with glass knobs and loop all the cotton and chiffon scarves I have over the hooks.
I tie each one as if I was going to put it over my head, but put each over a hook instead.

I had many many scarves. I did a big edit and took the ones I never wore to the Oxfam shop.

I find my husband's tie rack ideal for scarves.

Ooh, like the idea of that!

Ah, you see I appear to have more than the average number - mine would definitely not fit on two hangersgrin

I roll mine and keep them in a set of chest of drawers with a pretty cardboard box for gloves and wooly hats, in the hall next to the coat wrack and swap them seasonaly. The out of season are put into a storage box in a spare bedroom.

A drawer in the wardrobe for light scarves, a basket on the shelf above for thicker ones and a folded pile on a shelf for knitted snoods / throws/ thick scarves.
I love scarves; I even have some of the silk head squares we used to wear in the 1960s.

Unfortunately we only have a tiny hall and no spare bedroom!

I have my very large collection in different places, thin floaty ones in a scarf holder and a tie rack, slightly thicker ones on hooks over the bedroom door, pashminas and outdoor scarves folded on a shelf, a few that I only wear with one item are on the hanger with the item and there a few favourites that I wear every day on hangers in the wardrobe.

There is no such thing as too many scarves ☺️

Mattsmum2 Wed 29-Dec-21 22:32:17

How many scarves does one need?
I have four. Two cotton, one heavier for autumn and one woollen. ?‍♀️
Three pairs of gloves, one woollen, one leather and one used for walking the dog.

I have the same as you shysal. Bought in IKEA a few years ago - don't know if they are still in stock. I keep my gloves in baskets in the same hall cupboard.
