I have heard life being likened to a train journey before. It is true that people come into and leave our lives.

Yes a bit twee in presentation, but a timely reminder that life coasts along at a pace and we should try and make the best of it.

I’m afraid I found it a bit trite but then that’s my view of most of these video ‘messages’

It’s too twee and sugary for me. I also fear I’m the passenger that no one notices has ‘stepped down’.

My family will notice. That's all thats important.

I find it trite and tasteless rather than depressing.

I doubt I would find it appropriate on any day of the year!

Nothing and nobody will convince me that I could be expected to get on with everyone I meet in the course of my life.

The past 69 years have had their share of unlikeable, unkind or obnoxious people; a number of my "Fellow Passengers" presumably put me in one of those categories too.

I doubt the rest of my life will be much different.

And as I generally prefer staying put to travelling the metaphor didn't appeal to me either.

To those who need cheering up after reading this thread, I can recommend this year's New Year's concert from Vienna.

Oh my goodness, I could have written this. I agree and relate to everything you say grandtante. I'm even 69 and adored this morning's concert from Vienna as I always do. We must be twins seperated at birth.

i think that is beautiful, i lost 3 people on my train over the past year, my partner, my stepdad and my brother, i have been ill during 2021 and thought at one point i was getting off the train, but i am going to keep going and look forward to seeing new passengers.

The Train of Life has been around for ages. I saw it quite a few years ago. In print, not YouTube.

And I also hope that your train journey goes on for a long time, nexus63. So sorry to hear of your losses last year

As someone who has long enjoyed the New Year's Day concert from Vienna I'm pleased to be able to say I have benefitted from both The Train and the concert this new year's day.
